Spezza following Dubas around like a little puppy, having a hissy fit and resigning from TML 'cause of Dubas' removal. Now working with Dubas in Pitts.

I wonder how AVS feel that Joe Sakic took his sweet sweet time in waiting (over a year) to get the deal he wanted for Matt Duchene.. I'm sure they feel disappointed? No?
I'm not surprised JT didn't get traded, I would have been surprised if he did.
Give it another 8 to 10 days, Fletcher, Hextall or Waddell may not disappoint you.

Looking at some of the term and money thrown by other teams at some of the other D today. This is looking real good!

So 1 yr, 1.5 avv but could be 3mil if he hits all his bonuses?

My favourite signing of the day

Good depth for the RD

Vatanen could be had on a cheap one year but I think he’s too washed up.
Ryan Murray could probably be had on a very good long term low cap deal due to his injury history. He has a pretty good two way shut down game when healthy. Bogosian, Stone, and Ceci all suck and so pass.
Schenn will be our 6th or 7th dman.
Hamilton is all but confirmed for NJ.
My hope is that we go hard after one of Hakanpaa or Savard and land him. Rathbone can possibly used as a trading chip for piece up front.
OEL-Hamonic
Hughes-[Savard/Hakanpaa]
Juolevi-Myers
That's what I would like to see happen with Hakanpaa though and Rathbone and Schenn as the spares.

Quick question guys.
So we have roughly 26 mil in cap atm. Is that including Ferland on LTIR or no? If it isnt included, we are looking pretty good with all that cap.
No, he is on IR now so it counts against the cap. If they need that extra to go over the limit, they can place him on LTIR but hopefully this all can be done without have to place him on ltir

Wrong.
He traded for McCann so as to keep the rest of the team together and leverage a proper return for Kerfoot. Even if Kerfoot was selected in the expansion draft, McCann would have been the replacement.
He won't get anything for Kerfoot, he's been trying to move him for a long time with no takers. He hoped Seattle would take Kerfoot with offering up peanuts so he could keep McCann. But at least he protected Justin Holl

Hmmmm so Dubas is a genius for trading Hollander and 7th to get McCann so that they could protect themselves and have at least one of McCann or Kerfoot..... Now Kerfoot on the block.. At least they have Holl on D

I was thinking Mccabe, a 4C, and Luke Schenn but I like your shopping list better
If McCabe can play the right side too, he'd be a good fit. I think they may re-sign Boyd for 4c or someone like that on a cheaper contract.

Tomorrow Montour, Hamonic, Luke Schenn?

I am not worried one iota that he won't be back with the Canucks or that he would even take an offer sheet. He isn't Kesler.
I see him re-signed around 7.25 for 3 yrs and Hughes around 6.75 for 4 yrs.
That leaves the team with enough money to sign Dickinson, Juolevi a goalie, a forward and 2 more RD. This is all possible even without having to move Schmidt this year.

Wonder if Jones would be a target for a cheaper backup now that he is being bought out by SJ

Good deal for both! That's what I was hoping for 5 or 6 yrs at around 4.75 per

Jake will most likely end up in the KHL as I don't see an NHL team giving him a shot. Which is what happened to Brendan Leipsic after his remarks about the girls and other NHlers and posted those pictures in that group chat with his friends.

I don't see any of these Devils in a Canucks uni next season. As other posters have mentioned the best course of action for this team, if they can't move any of the players they want to is just play out the year with the team at hand. I don't want to see any more assets being thrown to move a "bad" contract. Next summer with Boeser playing great, Garland also having a better year, Myers and AB contract up and the cap going up drastically. This team will be a better position to capitalize on a better FA group and possible get assets from other teams. Hold the line I say
