  1. I think that would be reasonable for the Canucks not sure that Pitt wants that deal. I am not sure they give up a second for Virtanen at this point as it seems even TG views/plays him as a 4th liner. Rust is a serviceable player and third liner who can play up the lineup. The retained salary may help. But as someone else pointed out Rutherford has traded Sutter twice already from two different teams. Sutter looks really slow at this point. I would do that deal Rutherford likely wouldn't.
  2. There have been mistakes. There have been wins. The biggest issue is the dead cap space for at least 2 more years: $6.0M - Eriksson $4.4M - Sutter $3.4M - Baertschi (hopefully he will be back or likely dealt they need the space because of the two names above - sad really) $1.0M - Spooner Buyout $3.0M - Luongo Recapture $17.8 Million I am surprised that the team looks as good as it does (hopefully) with that much cap eaten up. It will be a challenge for the next few years unless the cap goes up.
  3. They would likely do Gudbranson for Sutter. Wait what.......
  4. These are the stats of a perfect 4th line player. At 82 games he likely gets 20 points. This all with 70% D zone starts. He could work on his face offs that would really help out Beagle.

    David Pope | LW

Contract move and a solid for Biega. Me thinks Pope is ECHL bound. Will miss Biega and thought he would be a good mentor for the youngish D in Utica. But he deserves a shot shot. Best of Luck Alex!
  6. Well that was ugly. I expected it to take a while to gel. But that powerplay should look a lot better. It looks worse if even possible. Newel Brown must have pictures or something how does this guy keep a job.
  7. Thanks now I am trying not too. Stop doing that......
  8. One way or another Eriksson will be gone after next July when he gets another $3M bonus from the Canucks for his effforts. With $5M left for the remaining 2 years the Canucks could even retain. I also think after he gets his next $3M he may just ride off into the sunset at age 35 after earning more than $60M USD in total. Not a bad gig.
  9. I like him with Leivo. I think Leivo doesn't get enough credit some times for how good his overall game is. His underlying possession numbers are VERY good. Very responsible and perfect third liner in my opinion. I am hoping him and Gaudette form a so called "pair" TG can rely on. Virtanen just needs to keep his head in the game and this could be a very good line.
  10. Right where I was itching. Next move send him down and call up Baertschi as the 13th forward. He can play games against the less physical teams to start.
  11. I dated her when I lived in Calgary. She was the cream of the crop. Her sister was kinda ugly.
  12. Finally. I was starting to wonder if TG was too old school (stuck in his ways) even for a younger coach. Let the kids play and let em learn.
  13. This guy has been inducted and celebrated. One of my favorites was stomping on Kesler's leg while he was laying on the ice. Maybe a little of this is required. Turning the other cheek(s) hasn't seemed to work.
  14. Yeah it happens. This guy will be in the HHOF.
  15. Watched the replay. Elbow up and thrown but he had his back to the defender for quite a while before he arrived and I don't believe he targeted his head specifically. Being shorter I am sure he is used to get hit high (head area) so..... elbow is up in response. He will pay but I don't think he meant to knock the guys head off. If one elbow/play makes you a dirty player then everyone is dirty. I do admit I like it that he plays with an edge but he needs to control it better. It's amazing there was no response from anyone on the ice.
  16. Now i know why he looked a bit distracted last night. Forget Fortnite. This is a real problem.
  17. Well coaches usually don't tweak the lineup if they win. So I hope TG gets a tweakin: Ferland- Petey - Boeser (Man Brock looked off hopefully its only rust and this line can gel) Pearson - Bo - Miller (They earned another game together) Leivo - Gaud - Virtanen (Sutter on RW only if TG thinks he needs the security blanket) ** Motte/Schaller - Beagle - Sutter (Virtanen if TG won't play Sutter here see above) ** This line gets all of their starts in the D zone. I find it perplexing that Virtanen can't/hasn't killed penalties. It is very telling and not in a good way if TG won't trust him. With his speed he would be a break away machine if given the opportunity. Once Rousell is back. Ferland- Petey - Boeser Pearson - Bo - Miller Roussel - Gaud - Leivo Motte/Virtanen - Beagle - Sutter/Virtanen If Baertschi can get back up he is my 13th forward and comes in and out depending on the opponent. He slides in on the 3rd and Roussel moves down and Virt or Sutter sit or are shipped out: They are really gonna have to make some moves come December if there are no injuries and Roussel is back.
  18. Stupid is as stupid does. Auston will bring fresh new tidbits on a regular basis. He cant stop being who he is.
  19. Not sure if its been said. Put Gaud on Sutters wing and bump Virt down.
  20. Life isnt always fair. Hard to figure sometimes. All the best Evan.
  21. Hopefully without the im outta here cause im in it for me aftertaste. And I have a Kesler jersey for sale so there is that lingering bitterness.
