[Rumor] Boeser Camp Eyeing 4 Year Deal Worth $28M

Here is the rocket scientists answer to contract negotiations and screwing up the whole system because he thinks he's smarter than everyone else. Typical Toronto mentality: Matthews: Tavares: Nylander: -

No it was all the blood on Roy's face and the towels it took to wipe it off. -
[Signing] Jets re-sign Josh Morrissey

The other real beauty of this deal if CapFriendly is correct is that it is Base Salary and Not Bonus loaded. Seems odd with the potential work stoppage possible and all the other recent contracts heavily bonus laden. Maybe this will be incorrect. If not very nicely done. Maybe the stupid will stop and Brock will be signed soon. -

This is what you call old time hockey - makes Slapshot look like training camp. -

Some of his Dad's handy work. Draper face first into the boards from behind. Kid comes by it honestly. Not sure I would call it talent. -
[Rumor] Boeser Camp Eyeing 4 Year Deal Worth $28M
Borvat replied to buddyguy's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
More likely to get Fiala or Zucker and a 1st. They love them some Boeser. He would be the face of the franchise going forward. I'm not sure this won't happen. They really can't afford to lose Dumba. -
October 2 - tons of time.

I say let him sit at home. Gives others a chance to get ice time and the Canucks time to make choices. This year more than any other in recent history they have options. Nothing to do with him. But I am a Canucks fan and have been since inception. I cheer for the jersey and not the player when the rubber hits the road. GO CANUCKS GO!

Apparently Markstrom took this to heart. He attended a Sumo goal tending camp this summer - it's called All Guts All Glory . No pads required. They slide him out into the net at the beginning of the period and collect him when it's over. It's called the eclipse style - no one can see any daylight. He's up to 750 lbs the only downside is he can't tie his own skates. By the way this is my contribution to hockey. I would revolutionize the goal tending position. I would put this guy in goal and pay him in Big Mac's and Ding Dongs. 1.000 Save Percentage.

[Signing] Blue Jackets re-sign Zach Werenski

I don't disagree, but if the RFA's keep taking a disproportionate piece of the pie available based on the majority opinion this tune may change especially when its anonymous voting time. -

I like Boeser and want to see him play a full season. But if an RFA with no arbitration rights starts dictating your team cap structure moving forward when you have other younger likely more valuable players watching that is a problem. Boeser has every right to do as he wishes but JB has a team and other players to consider. I think 3 years is likely the term at $5.5 Million. (based on what apparently Boeser is seeking long term) Same as Bo and more than all the other forwards not named Eriksson (I threw up a little in my my mouth there) then prove you are worth more. By then Petey and Hughes will be resigned - and have been the ones to set the bar - and there will be quite a few of the current contracts off the books - Baertschi, Sutter, Pearson, Edler, Benn and so on. If Boeser wants long term I say no less than 6 years and he can have a premium I am in the $7 - $7.5 Million range ala Nylander. My two cents anyways. -

Although as we have seen this off season - and this may just be the beginning - some of the expected big UFA contracts have been less dollars than expected. I think these recent RFA's have set a trend by taking more and more of the pie which may cause the larger membership to try and reset the pay scale. As you mentioned the larger percentage are not RFA's and it is a union. The current CBA is up Sept. 2022 and a lot of players have recently been negotiating a bonus structure to their contracts (paid whether there is a season or not) which may indicate the players and agents are planning for a potential work stoppage. If the salary cap doesn't increase (fairly substantially) I think they may be right. -

Man the landscape has changed. Tail wagging the dog. There won't be money left for the UFA's soon. I wonder how the NHLPA is going to deal with this there could be some internal union strife with this flip in contracts. -
So will Nils Zoolander.

[PTO] Landon Ferraro with Canucks

You and Timrafan can buy Ray lunch and listen to him tell you why he is right and everyone else is wrong including JB. -
Benning trying to get to "common ground" with Boeser
Borvat replied to BrockBoester's topic in Canucks Talk
I previously suggested a 3 year $5.5 - $6 Million dollar deal. That way Petey will be re-signed (Hughes as well) and he can be the one to set the team structure going forward and rightfully so. Also, if extending Boeser is a problem in 3 years they should know what they have in Podkolzin and Hoglander on ELC's and still control Boeser's rights. I say 3 year or 6 years and longer. -

Keller is basically signed for 9 years - to age 30 at an annual average salary of $6.45 Million - $58.1 Million total including this season / 9 years. Keller also gave up 5 years of free agency as well in this contract if my math is correct. 7 full seasons would take him to 26 to reach free agency. He is under contract until 30. Boeser at $7 - $7.5 Million isn't even close to the same value for the Canucks on anything less than 6 years (only 2 years of free agency) or longer. That would take Boeser to 28 and potentially another huge contract. -

People kept telling Dubas the Leaf's needed more players like Tucker on the team to be successful in the playoffs. Dubas didn't know who they were talking about so he kept having his minions look him up. -
As long as his teammates think he is the guy so be it. This is getting to the point where I am fairly certain they will need to name a Captain for this season. According to this thread all body parts point to Horvat.

[Signing] Sharks re-sign Joe Thornton
Borvat replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
It has set the new salary standard. $50,000 per year = $2,000,000. Boeser is worth $1,100,000. Book it.
