  1. That may work. I personally would like to see: Edler - Gudbranson Hughes - Tanev Juolevi - Stecher Pouliot - Biega Not to start the year but perhaps by the trade deadline if Del Zotto and Hutton can be moved. If Hutton can outplay Pouliot so be it. I don't think Edler will be moved (waive). I could actually see him sign an extension.
  2. I really like what he could bring to the team if he was healthy and had the right partner. I genuinely believe he has high expectations for himself. In a word I think he really cares. I am hoping for a positive year for him.
  3. Gudbranson may fair the best, but with his recent injury history I hope he fights very little and only when absolutely necessary. I am hopeful he has a huge and healthy year and becomes that legit 3 - 4 with size we could really use.
  4. I agree. I think Granlund has been a bit overlooked and under valued. He is defensively responsible and can play a two way game. He has had decent offensive numbers when given the opportunity. I could potentially see a line of: Pettersson - Granlund - Eriksson
  5. I can only be responsible for me not others. I stand by my comment, intent and observation. I said something because I observed it and chose to remark. It was a pretty weak wrister. I'm sure it's due to it being practice. End of quote. Thanks.
  6. Actually, no I didn't it was a comment (which I was careful to preface) that you took and over analyzed and added to to make your post which in no way reflects my intent. Why not just leave my comment for how it was intended, simply an observation and not hijack it. Thanks
  7. Don't want to put too much into this video but that wrist shot didn't have much zip. Likely because it's practice

Well then we disagree. He is not reliable full in as you pointed out. He's a center who is not good at faceoffs. He can't kill penalties. He is not defensively reliable. He offers very little outside the powerplay. Megna is not the best AHL option any longer, that's history. It wouldn't take a lot to displace him.

I guess you are pleased with what he brings. I am not and never was. 31 points / -18 / with no intangibles, he can not be relied upon to play defense, kill penalties or take important draws. Megna and Chaput are no longer around and Gagner is 1 year into his 3 year deal. There are younger players that will need the opportunity. I guess I am not as impressed as you are. If you consider a differing opinion complaining then so be it.

On a good team Gagner is an AHL'er . The AHL players the Canucks will have access to next year will be much better than in the past and worth giving an opportunity. Especially the ones with offense in their game.

I'm sure there may be especially once the season starts and especially closer to the trade deadline. Would be pretty difficult now unless he was part of a package or if we traded for a player another team didn't really want or need either. Maybe they need some offense/PP help and have depth in their bottom six. A pick would be best. But as you noted the return will likely be just the benefit of moving him and opening a roster spot and hopefully obtaining a pick. I hope the Canucks stockpile picks for next year as well. The prospect depth is getting to be impressive and may soon allow some positional moves (ie: trading for a top six center or top pairing defenseman) where the Canucks may have to overpay a bit..

Other than he is taking a roster spot that likely should be filled by a younger skilled player (top six) or more rounded player (bottom six). Gagner doesn't really fit as a top six and doesn't play a strong enough defensive game with any intangibles to play in the bottom six. He had the worst +/- (-18) of any forward on the team other than someone named Sedin, with a FO% of 47.7% with 57% offensive zone starts. 11 of his 31 points were on the PP. He had a short shelf life as a place holder but there is not a lot to like about his game from my perspective.
  13. I think an interesting combination maybe a line consisting of: Pettersson Granlund Eriksson
  14. Like the looks of this kid. He's a gamer and will work for what he gets. Plus he is rocking a serious mullet. I miss mine.......
  15. I seriously doubt they do that deal. I know if Jenner played for the Canucks and the Canucks traded him for Gagner and Granlund fans would go ballistic (me included) and rightfully so. We just won't agree on this. No worries.
  16. Would welcome Jenner absolutely. Dubinsky has 3 years left at $5.85 Million and is 32 years old. 16 points in 62 games last year. He makes Erikssons deal look not that bad. I just don't think more older players that are overpaid and past their prime are a good thing.
  17. Haha yes and Pierre Luc Dubois please. Santa is that you?
  18. I'm sure they would part with Dubinsky but then they need Jenner even more. Plus I wouldn't want Dubinksy. I would love to have Jenner. I don't see a fit.
  19. I would take Jenner over Gagner and a throw in any day personally and I think so would the Jackets. If it's a player that they would "want" from the Canucks I'm not sure the deal is worth doing. I don't see a deal here.
  20. Oh okay so they lose money each year got it. Just not sure how 2 worse cheaper players that will still likely total what he will receive helps them. Would be awesome if we could pull a couple of those deals off though.
  21. Just checked cap friendly and I don't see them being a "cash poor" team . They have 19 players (11 forwards / 6 defencemen / 2 goalies) signed and currently $13.4 Million in cap space with the cap projected to go up by at least another another $3 Million - that's a minimum $16.4 Million available. Plus the young players they need to retain are all RFA's - including Jenner one of their best young players. What am I missing?
  22. Agreed. All I can figure is desperation and lack of options. Like Sbisa, Eriksson, Gagner......... Hopefully this ends unless a bonafide Dman or Center are available.
  23. Has there been any mention of Elias' contract status recently. Is it still possible he returns to Sweden?
  24. His nose is actually 6'1" :-)
