Is Travis trying to teach Jake the finer side to jakes defensive game? I myself seem to notice Jake floating around the hash marks to the blueline in the offensive end. It seems to me hes nervous of getting caught down low in case of a bad pass or break out play going the other way.He always seems to be the first one of his line to the bench for a line change also. With Jakes natural attributes, id have that boy first in on the forecheck. Hes pretty damn good at stripping the puck and his passing can be underated.Let him crush a few d men , let him start feeling good about his game, stop worrying about making the wrong play, put a better defensive forward on a line with him to take on that responsibilty for him to learn from. Then insert bits and pieces of that part of the game, let him grow at maybe a slower pace but with confidence. i would just like to see this guy get his crap together for the Nucks than the next team, cause there will be teams looking at him.

Love that commercial.
-
Agreed, definitely needs another mentor
-
Hes great at holding the line on the pp BUT definaitely needs to work on walking the line before he shoots and or passes.
-
I feel better with Biega on the ice then steady eddy. And thats not meant to be a knock against Biega.
-
Biega is an upgrade on Edler from the eye test and the stats. Hes underated.

Sorry,20 games, 4 goals 5v5 , 1 goal on the PP . Thats all good, but at a -9 with an average of 15 min TOI per game. I tend to notice him mainly skating behind or beside an official shaking his head over a moot offside or stoppage in play because he was the offender. Just an observation of mine. Now i wonder, with Jake at 15 GAMES 2 goals 5v5 no PP time at a -2 ( thats playing the majority of his time with the Sedins twins each with a -5 rating)with 11 mins TOI maybe just maybe he could get 2 more goals to be our new"4TH top scorer ". I believe Jake has much more to offer. I wouldn't mind seeing a Vanek Burmi Jake line also (vanek a better option than Gags) .The more Goals/better Plus minus he gets, my fingers are crossed someone gives us a late 2nd early 3rd round pick at the TDL.

Green could do something with the Gagner Vanek Burmistrov line . Its a horrible line to watch, Gagner always on his ass,Vanek chirping at the officials after any whistle whilst doing nothing and burmistrov i rarely ever notice him on the ice. Then the Sedin Sedin Erikson line ,5v5 unaffective, way to many intercepted sedinery passes, absolutely no forcheck . Break up the Sedins, sit any one of these players, and give Jake more time to make mistakes so he can learn from them.Jake needs to lead the rush , crush defensemen with his fore check ,roll off with that puck or chase down that poor bugger who has the puck next.In my opinion, imagine this years DD with Jakes hitting, speed and shot. Im sure there is a line within these players that can be made and more effect with Jake having a position that allows green to use Jake as JAKE.
-
The reason why Jake has been handcuffed on the Sedin line is to dial in his defensive game.Green knows with the Sedins speed they can never or barely try to get on the backcheck , leaving Jake responsible. I believe it will make him a better player in the long run.But as a reward to Jake and to be honest us fans , loosen up them reins a bit and let him play.it would be nice to see 1 other line with a forecheck.
-
Absolutely Jimmy, being as mobile as they are physically and with the great first passes out provides our offense with a much better counter attack. i believe the goals are coming from our backend soon, first with primary assists then from the blueline. the boys just need to start dialing it in.
-
I would like to see Jake put on a line where he can use all his tools. I feel the sedins slow him down . pencil him on a different line. every once in a while, free him up.
-
Man i hope Edler has bought in with coach Greens system.Sometimes i think the Sedins aren't on board or maybe its just they cant play this style, no forcheck, no speed,no tenacity. We have D depth now (i think) that if eddy regress's further even from last years play we have the guys to drop his minutes accordingly.

Absoutely love the grats stetch gets from the boys on our bench.

Biega has certainly proven he should be a consideration for a spot this year. Other than his normal "bulldog" mentality, he makes a great first pass , has great wheels, and seems to always be there defensively.
-
Lmao, thats too much

Looking forward to seeing plenty of that also Zoolander. He's obviously taking the correct information on pre-season training and putting it to good use from pics of late. I usually choose to bypass this thread altogether to avoid all the premature ejaculatory negative spewage about a 20 year old young man learning how to be a professional. Its nice to see less of that and more well wishers for Jake. Here's to Jake earning a spot out of camp and if not, in the near future Cheers

I think Tanev will be much more effective on a team that actually has some toughness. You won see so many liberties taken on him when there's a price to pay. If van gets some players that can man up, tanevs injury time (minus those taken from blocking shots) will drop considerably. Much more valuable at TDL,

[GDT] 2017 NHL Entry Draft

This should be tagged on every negative comment were those who believe they know all bash those prospects they deem unworthy as compared to whom they deemed worthy. -
Its only because they get an argument out of it that they repeat the same drole s%#! over and over. Pretty lame really.

I will never learn, i log in to see Jakes thread hot with conversation. Hoping to see tidbits of information regarding any news / video on this upcoming year, but only to find a few posters (always the same)stating the same jacked negative #$@t. Get over it. We need a new thread made up for these clowns to voice their distaste and provoke agruments about Jake there and leave this one alone for pertinent information.
-
Huttons gonna be even better this year. A Tanev/hutty pairing looks pretty good, in my opinion.
-
cheers, well said. If jake was on another team some here would try to be trading tanev for him saying his size, his hitting ,his grit, his speed, Oh and hes a vancouver kid maybe he just needs a change of scenery and he'll be a gem.
-
Maybe he will regain his passion, and waive to go play for a contender.

I seem to read a lot in CDC that Jake possess no or low hockey IQ. Has this ever been mentioned by his former coaches, team members, notable or distinguished journalists(if there is such a thing)?
