  1. So Jake gets traded lets say to LA. Spends a year in the minors there. At the age of 22 things all of a sudden turn around,( could it be the patience he needed, a bit more seasoning, less CDC) can you imagine what would be said about the management of the team then. Alot are writing him off at 20 yrs old, trade him , our scouts know nothing ,he will only project to a 3-4th line player. It confuses me. He has more potential then kass ever will ,now that Kass having a good game or 2 JB and TL are rediculous, got rid of him to soon should have gave him more time. How short some memories are.
  2. GO SENS GO better yet GO BURR GO. Bruins suck
  3. Willie D is to blame here as well as Edlers obvious decline. To play him as a top minute muncher just illuminates his abismal play, spread these minutes out amongst the young guys, they couldn't do any worse but at the same time develop. To be one of the defensive pairings played the majority of the time with the sedin line cant help with making eddy look much better also. We all have seen the spectacular speed in back checking the sedins possess let alone the glide to the bench after losing said possesion with the puck already over our blueline this cant help out Eddys cause either. Hes caught flatfooted a lot, i cringe every time he pinches, rarely gets a shot through because he refuses to walk the line to create openings, his overall positioning confuses me. He may be a great guy but i personally think he needs a new environment to play in. I definately think he is a big part of the so called stale core.
  4. I would say out of our d core and the time frame in which Vancouver would be pushing for cup runs makes elder the most likely candidate. Why try again to find a pairing to help him with his game. Being a veteran , isn't his skill lvl that should be elivating our youth? Not the other way around.
  5. Happy birthday Apricot , and thanks for mentioning its epilepsy awareness day. My daughter is epileptic and today at her indoor soccer game all of her teammates plus both coaches wore purple shirts as jerseys( league approved also) to raise awareness. GCG

    1. Apricot

      Apricot

Awwweeee, big hugs to your daughter, her soccer teammates and coaches. That's so nice of them. Thank you for the birthday wish! No need to thank me, just doing my best as an epileptic myself to get the news and awareness out there :).

  6. I have tons of love for Tanev. Our best d man going forward.Hope we get to rely on his skills for years to come.
  7. Thats great news. Got the monkey off his back.
  8. I agree with the previous posters about Burrows and Stahlberg (is that his name? Anyway, they have added so much to the depth of this team. Funny thing is that I always hated Burrows. He was the one that years ago, chomped on a guy's finger. I think it was Cory Perry but oh I thought he was a menace and now I love him. This is just a sample post of what Sens fans think of our Burr NOW. I recommend a visit to their message boards to get your Burr fix. O and btw their GM is now not considered the worst EVER.
  9. Edler needs to go.Seriously he is a liability. The NTC's were given out like candy in order to keep contract dollars down .1 more kick at the can , fingers crossed cup run. He has been dropping off slowly over the last couple o years but this year.... off the cliff. Just my opinion though obviously.
  10. I dont think Tram is much of a fighter. Sure he has size, but can he throw them. Brouer had tram in a vulnerable situation very quickly with Tram's jersey over his head, if brouer had a chance to throw a couple .... who knows. The only videos iv'e seen of him fighting , he seems a bit awkward. He can destroy guys with hits, and if he'snot much of a fighter maybe that will deter some from calling him out.If not maybe a few quick sparring lessons could be benificial.
  11. Yes i agree . Hutty has a lot more to show, yet with the emergence of stetch some have proclaimed hutty topped out.To trade off tanev now would seem premature if tram and stech suffer the same obsticles .Tanev's value will remain high next season.. Edler's value, i'm not convinced will recover. Trade him as soon as possible. protect another.
  12. Next year is the dreaded sophmore season for Tram and Stetch. I remember all the excitement with Hutty last year and now its we've seen his top potenetial and he's regressing. I imagine it's possible for tram and stetch to also suffer the sophmore jinx this upcoming year. There's no problem with having depth in D. Its the biggest complaint CDC had before last year. It will all be set in place who management will trade or set up as expansion draft bait. Trade Eddy , Biega for expansion. Take any other offers on players only if its a Canucks win win. Trade tanev next year for potential scoring wingers or picks if benning hasn't found a gem.
  13. He seemed to favor that left shoulder again after the Martinsen hit. Just a pull? Will find out tonight if he throws any big hits.
  14. I was at the 2017 IIHF USA vs SWISS game and i watched Nico Hischier dominate it. Speed, skill, and tons of Will. Definitely a potential 1st line center. H'ed be a great 1st round pick..
  15. Nice to have Tanev back,he played a great first game back.
  16. We do have some D prospects in our system now.Thank you JB. How many of them have proven themselves to be of consistant NHL quality?Just because we have numbers of D does not mean we have proven quality. This will be the year where JB will focus on potential forwards with a possibility of seeing Boeser playing in nucks jersey.I couldnt see the risk trading a d man like tanev with no proven replacement. This year (from here on out unfortunately because of our standings ) should be 100% evaluating what we do have with minor no risk trades looking for a diamond in the rough. Jb will get our shore up our forwards/maybe another center before next season just like what he did with the d last year. Be patient.
  17. Tanev is only 26. Already labelled an elite shutdown defenceman.(not talking offensive). Yes we need offensive forwards but why trade a guy that will be very hard to replace. Look what JB did for the D ... Guddy tram, stetch a huge upgrade and traded what away for it? Mccann for guddy . The story line is" Build from our net out" JB's off to a great start. let see what he can do for our forward group without trading pieces that are needed to keep going forward. Tanev's 26 not a grizzald old vet. I don't see a decline in his play, actually pretty consistant. Avgs.17-18 min a game doesn't produce alot of points but makes up for it by taking very few penalty minutes (8mins last year) by playing smart. Unless its a complete lopsided deal , were it's impossible to turn down I say we keep the guy .
  18. So far not so bad from our backend, without Eddy. Points from the back end are looking good . defensive mistakes being made but its not like they weren't there before. Bo is a beast. (and as a side note he will be better again next year, he wont allow himself to be satisfied ) Tanev is way better defensively than eddy and stech is putting up points without him. collectively this group doesn't look so bad . Alot better then last year. Benning helped WD figure out how to stop what happened last year by getting stetch and tram over weber and bart. Hoping to see a full healthy d in 4-6 weeks ,will make easier on the team as a whole. This could be a blessing in disguise, maybe WD will see what hes got in his D and not overplay eddy so much. then we may see the eddy of old.
  19. Love this kid.Always on the move, never takes a shift off.
  20. He's an exciting player to watch. Nice to see that potential( plus fingers crossed Juolevi) back on the blueline again
  21. I was replying only on missing Edler as your above quote states. Not in regards to losing BOTH tanev and edler. That is horrifying. I do say what i want and do agree that Edler/Tanev are our version of Keith/Seabrook or Muzzin/Doughty,but "not sadly" in Tanevs case.I see "sadly" that the defenseman that you choose to regard higher(which is perfectly acceptable) you feel is a" sad" equivalent to those others you pointed out.
  22. He plays hard every shift. Canucks have a real gem here. Love this guy..... heart and soul player.
  23. Judging from his games up to now and how he see's the ice, how many points do you think he'll get this year.Assuming he stays healthy? Whats his ceiling for the future?
