  1. I am fairly certain he has been playing injured; he is not skating as fast. That being said, impressive vision (runs the 1st PP) and hands.
  2. I agree. Many forget that he played 3rd-4th line minutes with mostly Dorsett, Hansen and Kenins; all of his points with his line-mates were at even-strength too. If he had a Gaudreau (Monahan) or a Kane (Toews) to play with, his production might have been quite different.
  3. If he really needs more development, can always send him to Utica following next season with the big club. That being said, if Hitmen can give him 1st line minutes (not the 2nd/3rd line, 2nd PP crap) I wouldn't mind him going back to juniors. However, like many said already, same point was being made about Horvat and he could've outscored many of our roster players as a depth guy (no PP time either).
  4. 6 of Vey's points came from playing 1st PP with the Sedins. He had his fair share of opportunities.
  5. I would be so stoked if Jake can develop his offensive game more and turn into a 30/30 player in a few years.
  6. After watching these two games, his stats really do him no justice in regards to overall play. Also, he did not take the unnecessary penalties I was expecting; he is smarter than people give him credit for. However, he needs to finish his chances better.
  7. He's turning into a defensive beast.
  8. I don't think he (when he is on ice) has been scored on yet. On a side note, I actually didn't like his reluctance to shoot the puck today; he tried too hard to set up plays.
  9. I don't know why people say his defensive game is bad. Watched the whole game today and it was actually very decent.
  10. No one will believe you because injuries shouldn't affect the player ...right?
  11. I don't think you read what I wrote; I believe you saw the 1.5 PPG stat and stopped there. His performance dropped dramatically after he was sidelined for a week and a half due to his other shoulder. I, along with many other CDC'ers, had hoped for more scoring this year, but I find it amusing some are still arguing Nylander this, Ehlers that, after we have already picked Virtanen (and nothing can change that). Have some faith, Vancouver's had 3 weeks of sunshine now!
  12. Many people here did not follow Jake's WHL season closely. He scored at around 1.5~ PPG and lead his team in that category and even-strength scoring before going to WJC and two weeks after he came back. His decline started in the final months of his season.
  13. Many still put a 3c ceiling on him but his playoff was something special.
  14. Don't know if I should bump this thread or not, but watching these highlights brought euphoric tears to my eyes. The bonus highlights rustled my jimmies quite intensely. Thank you canucks1219 by the way!
  15. Wings fans quite salty on reddit, but they are asking why Markstrom is in the AHL. :D
  16. Was a 2nd to kings (50th). They took Roland McKeown.
  17. Green playing him in such an important game :D
  18. Honestly though, who didn't have an attitude at that age? Serious question.
  19. From what I've seen, Cassels is very skilled too.
  20. The person describing Jake on eliteprospect page really likes him
  21. Wanted to say the same. People still saying Nylander is the right pick.
  22. Watching the Hitmen game right now; they could really use Virtanen. No physicality at all :\
  23. Didn't play too well but he had good chances late in the third. Lang missed an open net on Jake's wraparound. The extremely negative on CDC are probably still pissed we didn't take Ehlers.
  24. You guys are joking right? Jake played bad but so did the rest of his team. If you actually watched, he wasn't the only one that turned the puck over. Calgary wasn't physical at all and got outshot pretty badly.
