This kid is someone special. I can see him resetting Canucks scoring records throughout his career. In about 12-15 years, the Canucks franchise leader in points will be Elias Pettersson follow by Henrik and Daniel Sedin.
-
I also think EP in his prime would be at his best playing C. However, short term I see him on the wing to start his career and he needs to work on his face offs. I was at both prospect games, and he hardly won any face offs in both games.
-
Same here! I can’t wait to see EP play live!
-
I want Pettersson to wear #40 instead of #14. Traditionally, #14 are often wear by wingers. I see EP as a center in his prime and i think EP40 looks good on him.

https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-players-that-could-be-named-captain/c-299877590 Bo is among 1 of the 9 players that could be named captain in this article. I personally think it won't hurt the team to go a year without captain (3-4 Alternate Captains made up of Bo, Sutter, Edler and Del Zotto) and then after this year, Bo is name as the captain and Boeser gets an A as well.

Canucks Season Predictions: 1). Horvat, Baertchi, Boeser and Pettersson all scored 20 goals or more 2). Virtanen, Leipsic and Goldobin: 2/3 players will use this season to prove that they belong in the NHL the rest of their career, and 1/3 will flop out. 3). Juolevi gets called up mid-season when our usual avalanche of injuries happen to our back-end. He will remain with the team and not get sent back down for the rest of the year. He also replaces Edler on the 1st PP unit. 4). Ben Hutton and Troy Stecher both will have solid season and will remain with the Canucks as part of the plan going forward. 5). Del Zotto continues to play physical and gets traded at the deadline for an extra 3rd round pick. 6). Gudbranson plays more physical and stablish himself as a hard punishing D-man for our team. 7). Edler gets resigned at 3 million x 2 years cap hit (CDC crying out rages the moment this signing is announce in February) 8). Tanev only plays 50 games. 9). Pouliot gets waived mid-season to make room for Juolevi. 10). Markstrom improves statistically, but overall still loses a lot more games than he wins. Nilsson will be the tank commander to help us finish bottom of the league. 11). Canucks will finish bottom 3 in the league and lose atleast 1 position after draft lottery. 12). In the future 3 on 3 OT, we can have EP+Brock+Quinn.
-
Well I just checked the WJC schedule, it looks like Team USA will play all of its round robin games at Victoria. I will try and go to all 4 games if possible!

Burrows is now part of the Habs organization. Laval Rockets, Habs AHL affiliate team assistant coach. https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/news/alexandre-burrows-appointed-assistant-coach-with-the-laval-rocket/c-299425860

At most, 5. I don't think Buffalo will never regret drafting Dahlin. Though I do like Hughes chances to have bigger successes at the NHL level ahead of any of the 5 guys drafted from 2-6.

2018 Canucks Summer Development Camp

“Kole Lind scored a good goal in the scrimmage!” - Fans “but the fans didn’t get to see it and the stream is our and there is no proof that he scored and his lack of size really is concerning!” - Jason Botchford -

I know right?! Right after the intermission, that’s when it ends. Facebook more like FacePalm. -
Eriksson could either “fail his physical” or “allergic to hockey equipment.”
-
I will definitely be there live in person!

Canucks Top Ten prospects (Updated for 2018-2019)
ruilin96 replied to 48MPHSlapShot's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
1). Elias Pettersson I don't think there is a need to do any more explanation. He is clear cut #1 among our prospects and arguebly the best prospect not in the NHL among all prospects from all teams in the league. 2). Thatcher Demko I think Demko demonstrate his potential to be an elite goaltender. I personally would still rank a potential elite goalie ahead of a potential elite Defenseman. 3). Quinn Hughes Explosive, elite PMD who is your ideal modern day NHL D-man. He has all the tools and the capability to develop into a #1 defenseman. One of these days, he will eclipse Alex Edler's franchise points record by a defenseman. 4). Olli Juolevi Calm, smooth, very smart 2-way defenseman. He plays a non-flashy but error free game. His stats as a rookie in SM-Liiga shows that he has tremendous potential. Once again, I have to state he is NOT A BUST! He is simply one of the best U20 D-man to ever play in the SM-Liiga. 5). Adam Gaudette Solid 2-way center who have the capability to create offense. Kills penalties, and will become a very solid 3rd line center (behind EP and Bo) with 2nd line upside. Looking forward to see what he is capable of doing after his 6 NHL games experience at the end of last season. Should start next year on our 4th line. 6). Jonathan Dahlen Another one of our prospects who have played professionally before making his debut to the NHL. Led his team from the SWE-1 league to the SHL. Great character, and lots of potential in terms of skill. Thank you Ottawa! 7). Kole Lind Very good year in the WHL in his D+1 year. Should be playing in Utica next season. This is another 2-way forward who demonstrate offensive potential. Can play all 3 forward position and both the Powerplay and Penalty Kill. He will become one of those players where you can place him anywhere in the line-up. 8). Jett Woo Big defenseman, skates well, hard hitting, and can get the shot on goal through traffic. Trusted by his coaches and often assigned to shut-down opposing teams' top line last season. He shows he have room to grow in his offensive game, and given time, he could be a beast in the blueline and the type of defenseman you need to win a playoffs series. 9). Michael Dipietro OHL goalie of the year. Very competitive and it is another goalie prospect of ours who have the potential to be a #1 goalie. He was invited as the 3rd string goalie with Team Canada for the WC. If everything goes according to plan, he should be the starting goalie for Canada's upcoming WJC roster (and it's in Vancouver and Victoria!!). 10). Jonah Gadjovich The man among the boys. Great net-front presence on the PP, as well as a good PK player and always have a lot of SOG! Must improve on his skating in order to have a career in the NHL. However, his compete level and worth ethnic tells me that we shouldn't worry too much about him improving this aspect of his game. Honourable Mentions: William Lockwood Tough year for him, injured during the out-door CAN vs. USA game in the WJC last season. Very good skater and competes very hard. Too bad he got injured just as he is starting to find the next level of his play last season. Next year in the NCAA, and hopefully he shows enough that he can turn pro at the end of next year. Lukas Jasek Have a very dominant showing after arriving to Utica from Czech Republic. He could completely impress coaches in training camp, and get to the NHL as soon as next season. Sample size was a bit small in the AHL last season to rank him into the top 10. If he does continue to dominate the way he did for the last few games in Utica, I would definitely put him in the top 10. -
Agree, you can never just assume the goalie prospects to just properly develops and becomes the number 1 goalie you expect. Even if everything pans out and is on schedule, we will be facing with a goalie controversy with Demko and Dipietro both eyeing as starters. In that case, we will have to trade away one of them and we have to have the next guy ready to step in. It is a good pick either way, whether our current goalies pan out or not.

This kid could be another steal of a pick in the 7th round.

This pick will take time to develop, but I am optimistic that he can be a solid 2-way D man if developed properly.
