Predict the Score Contest - NHL Return to Play Edition
ruilin96 replied to goalie13's topic in Canucks Talk
My predictions: Rangers vs Hurricanes - Rangers in 4 Panthers vs Islanders - Islanders in 4 Canadiens vs Penguins - Penguins in 3 Blue Jackets vs Maple Leafs - Jackets in 5 Blackhawks vs Oilers - Oilers in 3 Jets vs Flames - Jets in 5 Coyotes vs Predators - Preds in 4 Wild vs Canucks - Canucks in 4 Stanley Cup Champion - Pittsburgh Penguins -
I am excited about tomorrow's exhibition game. Words have it that since it is the only 1 exhibition game, teams are allow to dress 13 forwards and 7 defenseman to try things out. With Benn still away from the team, I believe OJ will be the 7th D-man for tomorrow's exhibition game and he could get some game action!

Alexander Edler nominated for King Clancy Trophy

He is gentleman for sure but he also can lay hits. When he lays a hit, he can really lay them. I still remember his open-ice hit on Drew Doughty in the 2010 playoffs as Doughty was driving the net. His hit on Patrick Kane in game 1 of our series against the Blackhawks in 2011 also set the tone. Earlier this season, he absolutely leveled cry baby Kevin Lebanc of the Sharks and led to the entire Sharks team throwing tantrums. I hope to see more of the hard hitting Edler this upcoming playoffs!- 28 replies

Cautiously optimistic about the Canucks chances this year, for the first time in a long time, the Canucks heading to the playoffs (or playoff like situation) with a young up coming exciting roster lead by a new core. -
My proposal for the new 82 game schedule format with 32 Teams: Divisional Games: 4 games against each team within one's own division (2 home games and 2 away games each): 4x7 = 28 Games Conference Games: 3 games against each team in other division within conference (with 4 teams you play twice at home and 4 teams you play twice on the road, alternate the teams patterns after each season): 3x8 = 24 Games Inter-Conference Games: 2 games each against 14 of 16 teams (1 home and 1 away): 2 x 14 = 28 Games Remaining 2 games of Regular Season: 1 game vs 1 of the remaining opposite conference team at home 1 game vs the other remaining opposite conference team on the road or 2 games vs 1 of the remaining opposite confernce team (1 at home 1 on the road) with a pair of teams never face each other during the regular season This should be a rotation each season. These teams will be rotated each year with a condition that Canadian teams on opposite conference will always play each other twice.

Very likely that they play their first home game against the Canucks. NHL want to make this a rivalry as soon as they can.
-
Would definitely watch the Canucks on the road when things are back to normal again. Would be a good experience!

So is it time to start a thread titling "Macewan, do we really need him?"

Norris Trophy finalists unveiled

Pettersson and Hughes will be the priority. Canucks will do everything to keep those 2 on the team, it is whether or not we can keep the rest of the band together that's a bigger question. -
[Report] Brendan Lemieux suspended 2 games

2 games in a best of 5 do or die play in series is close if not more than 5 regular season game imo -
As much as I would like to see OJ play, I agree that the game against the Jets should be a dress rehearsal for game 1 against the Wild. Unfortunately, this isn't a pre-season where we have 5-7 games to dress guys and see what they are capable of, it is just one game to get warmed up before the real meaningful games start.

It took Miller quite a few years to have that sinked in on him, Jake is still young. He will be fine.
-
Are you kidding me? If Jake doesn't score all the goals and win for his team during a scrimmage, that would be direct result of his lack of the commitment to fitness and conditioning and he should be traded asap. That's just how it works with Jake
