  1. 12.5% chance of winning for the Canucks is as good as 0.125% to me knowing our luck, we never win. So I would just rather make the playoffs and make sure the draft pick we give up for Miller won't be a lottery pick next sesason.
  2. For it to really work, you need to sign Linden Vey from the KHL, trade for Megna from Colorado and Chaput from Arizona. You will get the deadly topline of Megna-Chaput-Vey.
  3. Calling it now: Penguins get that pick after Price stood on his head to eliminate them in 5 games in the play in round.
  4. When he got drafted, supposedly one of his asset was that he is a leader and is captain material. This turn out to be completely opposite.
  5. As much as I want Vancouver to a Hub city, I think health of the people in province should come first. If Dr. Henry doesn't like the NHL plan, then she must doesn't like it for a reason. We will see where we go from here.
  6. Also worthy of note that he is no longer on the 2nd PP unit after his injury in November. Myers ran the 2nd PP and the 2nd PP was pretty decent, so Green never bothered changing the set up. So Edler is only out for PP if the Canucks are up a goal or two and late in the third, and they just throw him in as the extra-defenseman trying to prevent SHG against late in the game.
  7. I actually hope he out performs both Benn and Fantanberg for the 3rd pairing LD position in this year's Play-in/playoffs and make his NHL debut. As good as Hughes is, I think we need another puck mover who can transition the puck out of the d-zone smoothly and safely, Olli could be the guy and this could be a great experience for him.
  8. What I have heard in the pass was Goldy has always had a good attitude, he just never "got it" when it comes to his play away from the puck. This article is trying to paint him as a lockroom cancer who clashes with coaching staff. I don't believe this is the case. I just think Goldobin never understood the importance of a 2-way game and he just think if he could score more he could get away with some of his lapses defensively.
  9. Like I said, I am not proposing to trade him. I am just put everything in the "what if" scenario. This is all hypothetical.
  10. This isn't confirmed, just me personally speculate. He chose to stay home to play an extra year of High School hockey to be with his brother. Vancouver is very far from his home, he may contemplate to sign somewhere close to his home. With this pandemic, we couldn't sign him this season and he maybe able to turn UFA next year. If he is a UFA, he may chose somewhere close to home. There is no source nor confirmation, but just me speculating base on what I think he could do. He is a character kid, there is still a good chance for him to sign here. If he doesn't then that's when you look at other options.
  11. I love Rathbone too, but if he isn't planning to sign here and wants to stay close to his family and his brother, this may be a trade that is in the works. JB has been linked to trying to trade for Ristolainen in the past and I think a change of scenery for Ristolainen can be beneficial for him as well.
  12. Will do a Juolevi + Eriksson for Dahlin, sounds about fair.
  13. That day was the most pissed off I have been in my life as a sports-fan. I hopped on the banwagon during the 2010-2011 season. At the time, I thought we were really going to win it. I actually think that the Canucks lost the cup made my fandom more intensified. Back then I was more of a guy who just watch the games, ever since the lost, I took fandom to a new level. I really want to know why we lost and how. So I end up doing a lot more research about other teams, then to contracts, draft picks, prospects etc. I gradually became an avid hockey fan who follows the league every day.
  14. Does that mean he won't even be with the Canucks as a Black Ace in the series against he Wild?
  15. He would be available as the Canucks qualified him in 2017, so the Canucks owned Tryamkin's rights prior to the 2020 trade dead line. If say we sign a random KHL player we never drafted today, he won't be eligible as his rights were acquired by the Canucks after the 2020 trade deadline.
  16. He won't be good enough in Russian to trash talk any of his new teammates, so he should be safe for a little while.
  17. There wasn’t a chance before the shut down, but now it is more likely than before with the pandemic and the economy takes a hit, some UFAs are contemplating a 1 year deal to see if the market goes back up again. We will see.
  18. If markstrom signs a 1 year deal, we don't even have to worry about Demko. We will just protect Demko in the expansion draft and expose the other goalies. Because Markstrom will be a UFA within a few weeks of expansion draft, Seattle won't pick him. We can then resign Markstrom after the ED.
  19. I read the article as well. To me, sounds like Tanev will stay. With the uncertainty of this year, I think he would much rather stay with an organization he is comfortable with. Likely signs a 1 year deal to remain with this team.
  20. It sucks we didn't win that series. If the Bertuzzi and Moore incident never happened, we would've won that series in 5 games.
  21. I think it was Matt Cooke. But Naslund did most of the work by driving to the net hard and Cooke put home the rebound.
  22. If this means future HNIC on Saturday night we get him instead of Randorf, that would be great news. HNIC games were games I look forward to the least the last couple of years because if we don't end up with Shorty calling our game, we just get stuck with Randorf. I think Cuthbert will be the Western Canadian team broadcaster for most nights while Jim Hughson's focus will be on the Leafs.
