  1. So for the last week or so, Jets lost basically every game except the game against the Canucks (and Canucks badly outplayed them too). There has to be dark magic involved in every Vancouver and Winnipeg game:
  2. It honestly isn’t bad or uncommon among teammates all. Bieksa even said during the 2011 season, him, Kesler and Burrows will get into scraps and fights in almost every practice. Just the competitive nature of professional atheletrs.
  3. I throw his name there because he was the 3rd member of that line. You can switch him up with Higgins or Weise. But that was a line that season, Booth-Richardson-Kassian
  4. Keep in mind, Makar is basically full year older (October 1998 birthdate) than Quinn Hughes (October 1999 birthdate) and have and extra year of development because of the age different. They broke into the league at the same time, and they are the front runners of this year’s Calder Trophy. Very similar to the Crosby and Ovechkin situation, instead these 2 are defenceman. Ovie won the Calder that season, being the older player and have more development time than Sid, but we all know that Sid is the better overall player. I see Makar winning the Calder this year, but won’t rule out the idea that Quinn might be the better player (though it is hard separate which of these 2 are better).
  5. Heard the podcast and can’t be happier for where Kassian is at with his life right now. I think he can be an inspiration for many players who are struggling with off ice challenges. Really wish he could’ve figured it out earlier and be the player he is right now with the Canucks. But he did say that it took until the accident in Montreal for him to really figured it out. Great character, very worthy of a listen.
  6. Torts didn’t want to risk the Sedins getting jumped. Also, can’t rule out what the dirty Flames would do if the Sedins were out there. Torts also hated Hartley’s guts, so he probably lost his mind and wanted to kill Hartley the moment he saw the Flames starting line up. The rational approach would be throw out the Booth-Richardson-Kassian line, a gritty 3rd line that could defend themselves while likely won’t resulted into a full scrum line brawl.
  7. I wouldn’t put too much stock into regular season points total when ranking Canadian teams this year as it is to jam-packed and several teams within a 1 point or 2 of one another. Let’s see who can make it the furthest in the playoffs.
  8. thanks for correcting, i was writing the post purely base on memory, so i am glad you pointed it out
  9. Agreed. Even when Roussel was a Star, I didn’t think he was a dirty player, I thought he was an annoying idiot. Now that he is a Canuck, and get to know him more and hear him talk, I love that guy haha
  10. Worthy of note is that Sharks at the time was just trying to dump his salary and make room to bring in Brent Burns. Regardless of the circumstance, it was a steal of a trade for the Canucks. Two busts for a high-end offensive defenseman who became a big part of our 2011 run.
  11. Not sure if this has already been noted, but he really should’ve been the guy we drafted in 2012 instead of Gaunce. Glad he end up here now.
  12. I am afraid of a first round match up of Canucks and Jets if the Canucks do end up 1st in the Pacific and has to play the 1st wildcard team. Blackhawks been heating up lately, would not want them in the first round as well.
  13. Congrats to Kane on his 1000th point. Though I spent most of my past decade disliking that team, but you got to appreciate the talent of the player. Tonight, let’s break our differences and congrats on a great accomplishment of a great player of this generation.
  14. To Drew Doughty: Look at the standings and see where is a. “Team Like That” is at in comparison to a “team like yours.”
  15. I am still tempering my expectations because our best players are still our youngest players. But if this is what they can do when they are rookies/sophomores, can’t wait to see what they can do when they become seasoned veterans. Both Hughes and Pettersson absolutely blew my expectations through the waters with their plays. I initially thought Pettersson is more likely a 80-90 points player when he hits his prime and now it looks like he is having a much higher ceiling than just that. Hughes on the other hand, I can’t believe how good he is already. I honestly thought Hughes at his peak would be doing what he is doing now and I just can’t wait to see what he can do in a few years. As of this year, playoffs is what I am I hoping for. Once we make it there, I will re-evaluate. Don’t think we are contenders yet, but definitely a lot closer to it than 2-3 years ago prior to the 2017 draft.
  16. Who would’ve thought the Canucks are the highest standing Canadian team heading in the all-star break? This kind of things just doesn’t happen since the early 2010s.
  17. This was screenshot before the game and the numbers have since increased but none the less, great time to be a Canucks fan!
  18. Not only that, but the young guys are a major part of why the team is heading to the right direction.
  19. Dahlen was the one we traded to the Sharks. Dahlin prob looking at what Hughes is doing with us right now and think how great would it be if the Canucks won the draft lottery and be that team that drafted him instead.
  20. No Canucks should be in the box. Sharks are whinny birches &^@# them.
  21. NBA player would be our 4 weeks to repair his teeth. Soccer players in European leagues would be flopping around like he just suffered a career ending injury.
  22. Does his stick shatter when he tries to one time the puck though?
