I thought he was going to go much earlier. He's a 3rd rounder that fell far. I'm excited for this kid. Lot's of potential. And he's also wanting to go to the CHL which is another bonus.

This is the kind of tempo/exciting/flashiness we need in our roster. Hope Virtanen tries to crack it next year! Although, 1 more year in the Juniors isn't so bad.

He's been skating very well and has been improving his all around game.

Most of those grown men in the SEL can't do crap and are washed up. NHL is a completely different league compared to Nylander's league. The fact that every single aspect of the game changes, even the ice, means no easy transition for Nylander. I do however agree he will become a future NHL stud with the right development, but you can't just say that "oh nylander played in the SEL, he's definitely going to be ready to play in the NHL". NHL is way more fast paced, smaller ice, physicality, and sometimes that extra ruggedness that the SEL doesn't have. I'll keep my Virtanen.

Forsling! Anyways, I agree with Canuck1219. It's funny reading those stupid comments of people predicting his career badly because of his mediocre preformance so far in the tourney.

Nichuskin definitely has a higher ceiling than Virtanen. Virtanen beats him in the skating/shooting/hands category. Nichuskin is a big boy but I don't think he is as aggressive as Virtanen. But playmaking wise, Nischuskin has the edge.

I agree. Domi's was a huge head-ache to Eichel yesterday.. something that I admire of Domi.

If McDavid can keep setting up Virtanen, I'm sure he will find the back of the net. Demko made great saves against him yesterday. Demko was terrific. And I'm still pissed that Virtanen didn't get that assist.
