  1. Pettersson not having the best night either. Was floating a bit too much on that last shift which resulted in a GA
  2. Kinda reminds me of Virtanen. Just without the physical side.

Heiskanen had a poor showing at the tournament.

Man what a game. heading to shoot out. I wonder if we see Juolevi get a chance in the shoot-out? Long shot.

Dahlin actually plays the right side despite being a left-handed shot. Juolevi/Dahlin....... Praying we win the lottery for once...

He loves to go with the play and this goal was a result of him taking the play to their zone and starting something. When Juolevi realizes his job is done and heads back, he gets into position and tolvanen finds him open at the point. really smart player.

Juoelvi with a pp assist. He's being used heavily on the PP which is good.
  9. We should really try Goldobin with Boeser and Gagner. Really liked Goldobin last game in his little time that he got. 10Gp 2g 2a 4pts while playing like under 10 minutes or something like that? Not bad at all. I've also really liked his attitude. Hasn't complained once at all, has done everything he's been asked and hasn't complained at all about his minutes or anything like that. I love his humbleness especially in his interviews as well. But yeah, I'd like to see him play a bit more 5v5.

I remember wanting Dubois so bad and was absolutely livid when CBJ took him at 3rd. I had Tkachuk and Juolevi about the same and was leaning towards Juolevi because he was the top rated defenseman of the draft and he was supposed to go anywhere from 5th-9th overall. top rated defenseman vs 4th or 5th best forward (my mindset back then). I'm still not losing sleep over this pick and probably won't. Still 19 years old and has shown glimpses of the kind of player he can be. His ability to find guys with that first pass and vision is outstanding and a lot of people are forgetting all those sick no look cross ice passes he does and it takes a lot of skill to do that. Very smooth skater, calm skater and excellent in his own zone. It's not like he's NOT producing in every where he's been. 14 points in 20gp in the liiga putting again historic numbers for U19 player in that league. 42 points in 58GP in both OHL years. I'm not gonna go crazy over his production at the World Juniors (2 assists in 4gp thus far). Tkachuk would have been nice and there's no denying that if he were a Canuck all of this talk about him being a 'dirty playe'r would not even be discussed at all. Kesler and Burrows were just as bad if not worse especially Kesler (who's one of my favourite canucks all time) yet I can't seem to remember anyone talking down on them when they were canucks.
  11. But what if he plays lights out in pre-season like Boeser or plays near the end of this season and does good? Most likely we're offloading Vanek, maybe Gagner, and maybe one more contract if we're not close to a playoff position. Gaudette is the next most NHL ready prospect we have.
  12. No but the name of this thread will.

I'm hoping he can be a Dan Hamhuis type player which IMO is very likely and possible. I mean he does have 14 points in 20GP in the liiga league scoring historic numbers for a U19 defenseman and has 2 assists in 4 games played at the world juniors while being a very smooth, calm presence. Yes there are still nuances in his game which needs fine tuning but again patience. If he comes to camp in shape and ready this time around, he'll most definitely crack our roster. He'll have more room to succeed in the NHL rather than the AHL
  14. Yeah that was so nice. He's so tenacious too and looks like he never gets tired. Might be because he plays overseas on a larger rink hence why his endurance is better (as is most european players) than NA players. But that shoulder-check to see Nylander in front of the net all alone showed his smarts.

I kinda worded it wrong. For example the LHD lines up just in front of the goaltender on the right defensive zone. The left winger is behind the right winger who is on the leftside of the centerman, and the RHD defenseman is lined up on the right side. And vice-versa for the other faceoff circle. Shouldn't one of the the wingers (depending on side of the faceoff) be just in front of the net ready to go the half boards when the RHD or LHD races back to get the puck? Instead they have a defenseman that's way up in front of the net which allows the opposition to jump and get behind leaving the winger out of position. I remember they had this sequence in their last game which resulted in a GA. I don't know, might just be over thinking.

Why does Finland always have a defenseman lining up against the wingers? Who's supposed to get the puck if they win the faceoff? They did that in their last game and it ultimately led to them being scored.

My bad and I apologize. But he's still way too overly critical of things. I didn't think it was a bad shot. Yeah there was no traffic but it wasn't like Juolevi shot it from a crazy angle. It was just above the left faceoff dot and I'm sure he was trying to get it on net and get a juicy rebound for his teammates. Not a bad shot at all. This is a Finland team that's struggled to score goals. His assist yesterday was similar but instead he aimed for the crease rather than at net. His "he's looked disinterested" comments kind of threw me off.

I feel like he's too bitchy sometimes. Juolevi took a shot on a PP and he was raving why would Juolevi shoot from there, easy save for the goalie blah blah blah. "I'm beginning to question whether or not Juolevi has any creative skills", Then they talk about how Juolevi looks disinterested in last years and this year's tournament. Just the constant nagging.

Ray ferraro should shut the &^@# up
  20. 30 seconds later scores a highlight reel goal makes me eat my words >.>
  21. Honestly, I feel like today Pettersson's not had the best game. Thought he looked better last game and the previous game before that. Tonight he looks a bit flat footed and doesn't seem a whole lot engaged but saved a sure goal and has a goal an assist. Had a lot of whiffs and bad bounces but a lot of sweden's players also haven't had a strong game despite it being 6-2.
