  1. I mean I can understand that perspective. Pettersson, Hughes, Horvat, Myers, OEL, Pearson, Joshua, Mikheyev, they all have no personality and it shows. Just quiet, can look very disengaged on the bench, lack emotion. We need some more passionate guys like Kuzmenko and hell even Garland.
  2. Leave Heffy alone, guy is upset like many of us are. I’m sure deep down he’s still a Canuck like many of us but he probably just wants nothing to do with Canucks at the moment Think of it like going through a divorce except now your screwing your ex wife’s sister
  3. I want to see how Miller performs. Whether we like it or not, he’s going to be here for the next 5-7 years and will be playing center. He’s going to have to take on Horvat duties and he’s going to need to elevate his play. Unless we somehow get Bedard, he will also most likely be the next captain. It will be interesting to see how Miller takes on the added responsibility once Horvat is officially traded. Guys are going to lean on him for support, he’s going to have to be that guy for them. I have my doubts though. He doesn’t have to be likeable but he sure as hell needs to be bearable.
  4. I mean at least for Cal Foote since he’s a defenseman himself. Nolan Foote is a forward so I doubt there’s much COI. Would have been nice to see a potential Schenn for Foote trade with Tampa being rumoured at looking into Schenn.
  5. Top 10 PP haha. Having Hughes Pettersson Horvat Kuzmenko. Should dedicate a portion of his pqycheck to them, considering he owes them for the job
  6. Imagine we could use voice chats as an option for posting, for like 1 day

  7. Night life sucks Homeless crisis Overdose crisis Highest insurance rates in North America, 2nd only to Brampton. Housing crisis Terrible drivers Highest rates of assaults per capita last 2 years Place is a gong show now
  8. This is such a terrible take. My generation of folks can’t even get out of school debt, and to even think about buying a house is a pipe dream. Vancouver’s inflation is borderline criminal, and not on par with other cities with the same population density as us. Vancouver is by no means as beautiful as you think it is. Look at where Vancouver ranks in terms of quality of life. People are smart to leave this place in search of a place where they don’t have to live beyond ends meet.
  9. What are these systems you speak of? Systems have been engrained to these individuals since peewee. Bruce is 2nd in NHL history in win percentage. Do you know how incredible of a feat that is? He’s coached for 50 years. He’s coached more games, been around hockey longer than I’ve been alive for (27 y/o). In what ways did he lack structure? Coaches don’t just lose their coaching ability like a player loses playing ability. Like Schenn said, there’s only a handful of systems in hockey. Being able to execute lies within the players. Our players are not good players. This wasn’t a coaching issue at all. If a coach like Bruce can’t win games with this team, how do you suppose a losing coach like Tocchet will do?
  10. Great post from someone on HF boards: Aquilini has done many stupid things, but this one is all Rutherford.Aquilini was the one who hired Boudreau, gave him the option year and possibly, though we don't know it for sure, insisted that the option on Boudreau for this season be picked up by the club. Aquilini hasn't been one to publicly trash his management and coaches-on the contrary, he's the guy who tweets nonsensically positive things no matter what stupid things his coach and manager do.Rutherford, on the other hand, has since last summer gone out of his way to make it clear that he's not connected with the Boudreau hiring, that Boudreau isn't his guy and he doesn't think much of him as a coach. It was Rutherford who last summer criticized the team's structure under Boudreau. It was Rutherford who publicly questioned whether they'd bring Boudreau back. It was Rutherford who came out in the press with a statement that he thought Boudreau was only hired for one season and that JR didn't know that Boudreau had an option on this season (a strange option where both had to exercise it.).It was Rutherford who throughout has refused to endorse Boudreau, who was willing to say only that Boudreau is the coach for now. It is Rutherford, who hired his Pittsburgh underling as general manager, who has the connection with Tocchet. While Aquilini may have refused last summer to pay for three head coaches (Green, Boudreau's payment if the team didn't exercise the option plus Boudreau's replacement) it is Rutherford who publicly undermined Boudreau and left him twisting in the wind for all to see as a lame duck who didn't have the confidence of team management. (As an aside, imagine coaching when the players know you're on the way out and that the coach's boss doesn't have confidence in him.)Aquilini may be blamed for many things, but this cruel and counterproductive public undermining of Boudreau is all on Rutherford.
