  1. In what way do you think it’s going to be catastrophic? Because as it is right now WITH the current semantics WITH Horvat things are looking catastrophic and that is unlikely to change. You want Miller to be moved but get real here, you’re not going to get Dubois or whoever you’re suggesting, and NY isn’t cooking up shit to make a pointless trade for Miller while they have Trochek and all those RFA’s needing to be signed. So the question is, do you still think keeping Horvat at his incredible joke of an asking price is LESS catastrophic than trading him while his value is at an all time high, freeing up cap space now and the future, and we avoid yet another possible albatross contract we will struggle to move for the rest of this decade? We’re in a flat cap era, management thought it would be easy to flip flop contracts, but then suddenly realized literally nobody wants cap without cap space. Mind = Blown
  2. I thought you were all for trading Horvat and Miller. You change your stances every other day.
  3. 8x7, 7x8 whatever Point still stands. We have a hard contract to move in Miller, and we can’t afford to sign Horvat $8M+
  4. Could be an absolute steal for them. Finally they got something right.
  5. He’s absolutely right.. $8M+ to avoid blocking shots and scoring garbage goals? Why is he asking for that much? Why should we re-sign that, especially after giving Miller an 8x8? His departure and maximizing his return would actually benefit the team in the long run, and is actually the move we must make. I love Bo, but it’s time for a change of scenery.
  6. Man how are we going to be able to move Miller with the flat cap. No team is going to want him for his contract and I certainly do not want to retain him at all. OEL and Miller…….
  7. Curious, how many games have you actually seen him play? You said the same about Liljegren, and now he’s one of the best young SHUTDOWN defenseman in the league, Tanev lite.
  8. You’re joking right? One of the best young defenseman in the game, he’s worth that package. Thing is New Jersey wouldn’t want to give up that many pieces. You offer Bratt and a 1st for Hughes you will have your number blocked.
  9. Tank hard this season. Sell everyone, and try and get a top 3 pick. Martin and Delia in net for the foreseeable future, sets us up nicely for a tank. Either one of Bedard, Fantelli, Michkov, or RHD Reinbacher would be great.
  10. Which is why I lowkey want him to finish just under 100 pts and sign him quickly over the summer. The longer we wait, the more he could want. The thing is, I don’t mind giving a guy like him however much he wants. He’s going to be the face of the franchise full time with Bo leaving. Though hopefully he takes some sort of a discount to help better allocate the cap for others.
  11. If Petey gets locked up into that contract, he’s not going to want to leave anywhere IMO. He paused because he’s got carefully answer these questions and not say the wrong thing. This team has 4-5 more years to get its shit together before he gets to that point where he’s going to want to look elsewhere.
  12. First thing they need to do this summer is lock Petey up at 8x$9.5M. Screw everyone else, lock this guy up.
  13. I didn’t watch a single Canucks game for the entirety Schmidt was a Canuck which I believe was the 2020-2021 season. Was he that bad? Why did we trade him again?
  14. Yeah, that’s what I see likely happening. This year is show us if you’re NHL material, and next year would be prove you’re “that guy” deal. And if he has a good year next year too, then I can see a 6 year 7.5-8.5M contract. If we don’t trade him, i think we re sign him for a 1 year $6M deal. Obviously, that would be the safest thing to do and something management is likely to try and do.
  15. Perhaps he signs another 1 year deal at 6-7M
