  1. This is McDavid's 7th season, and he's probably pretty tired of answering questions after losses. He's going to want out eventually.
  2. Miller - Pettersson - Podkolzin Zacha - Horvat - Garland Pearson - Dickinson - Hoglander Highmore - Lammikko - Motte
  3. I thought JR and Allvin would've made a move by now. A lot were saying how many trades JR likes to make, how active he is, but nothing's happened yet and it's been months. I understand that the best time to trade is probably at the TDL or in the off season, but they're close to a playoff spot. I guess they're just going with what they have and then they'll make decisions at the TDL. Canucks have the goaltending to go all the way, but not the team. They're too inconsistent, can't seem to go on a run of wins. There are a few passengers as well, and good teams have everyone going.
  4. What are the odds he goes to the Flames? Treliving must be salivating "oh boy! another ex-Canuck will be ours!"
  5. If VAN did claim Olli, at least he would be familiar with his team mates and the city etc. It would be like a second chance here. Thanks for Juulsen and Lammikko, and now we'll take Juolevi back as well
  6. UFAs after this season: Motte Chiasson Sutter Hunt Halak The Luongo penalty will also be done, thank goodness. I think they re-sign RFAs Highmore and Lammikko (plus Lockwood and Rathbone, etc) I don't expect any of the UFA players to be on the team next season, and it frees up some cap, but I think they go further and trade Boeser to NJ for Zacha and Smith. That frees up a bit more.
  7. After 52 years - Under 0.500 record - 3 trips to the SCF - Zero Cups - Zero 1st overall draft picks Pretty sad, but hopefully they're finally doing it right by hiring a veteran president and bringing in quality people to manage. They have a real good coach as well. I hate to say the future is bright, because I've been saying that for years and years, but maybe it really is now. I'd give the Canucks a C-
  8. It would be concerning if VAN traded their best player for a D phenom with concussion issues, but I wonder if VAN is thinking they could benefit from a "Jack Eichel" type of situation, where Byram heals and recovers, and then has a productive career. It would definitely be a gamble, but that's where Newhook comes in. I like this. If Byram continues to have issues and can't play (worst case), at least they have a Top 6 forward in Newhook and got something of real value back.
  9. The latest edition of "Who wants to trade for Miller, Garland, Boeser and Schenn?" After the Canucks win, the Leafs will make a strong pitch to acquire Schenn, because their D sucks. Just a guess: Schenn for Sandin and 2nd
  10. I suggested $9 x 5 years, so I'll stick to that. Canucks can't get cheap with JT. The fans have a tendency to want a "home town" discount for any player who likes playing in VAN. It's also not just about point production, Miller brings other intangibles that are so valuable to the team. Pay the man if he stays. If not, then get a King's ransom and move forward.
  11. If it's just about clearing cap space, I hope they can trade Hamonic and Poolman before trading Myers. I believe Boeser, Motte and Halak will also be traded. Maybe Lockwood can fill in Motte's spot eventually? (next season)
  12. Hoglander to DET for Zadina Boeser to NJ for Holtz+ Garland to BOS for Lysell+ re-sign Miller trade Bo+ to PHI for Provorov In a couple of years: Lysell - Pettersson - Podkolzin Holtz - Miller - Zadina
  13. Saw an old rumour out there, that's popped up again - Miller to COL for (RD) Bowen Byram and (LD) Justin Barron Byram, unfortunately, has had some head injury issues and would be a big risk, but if he was able to deal with that, he would be a force. Barron as well, would be a great young addition to the D. Not sure if COL has the cap space for this though.
  14. As for Boeser, I still think he's going to NJ, maybe for Zacha and Smith
  15. I like the concept, and I would really like Provorov on the Canucks. I had the thought of Horvat going to PHI as well. They need real help at C. Does Provorov make sense though? He's a LD, so would they use Hughes as a RD? OEL - Myers Provorov - Hughes Also, can they afford him? He makes $6.750 for 3 more years.
  16. TOR wants Schenn. TOR wants Miller. TOR wants Garland. Wow, the Leafs sure like the Canucks. When the last time VAN fans went "Dang, we gotta get "this" Leaf player"? Who do they have though? Liljegren, Sandin, Dermott and Robertson? If I had to guess, VAN gets one of these guys and TOR's 2nd. But I really hope we give them nothing.
  17. Gotta say, I love seeing that C on Quinn. Looks good on him
  18. What about Boeser for Chychrun straight up? Let's face it, Boeser is not going to lead the mighty Coyotes to a Cup. Chychrun, though, is still only 23 and will get better over time. I think he'd thrive in VAN. Canucks need better D, not a slow, streaky goal scorer looking for a big raise.
  19. Myers to CBJ for (C/LW) Domi and (LD) Bean Garland and Poolman to BOS for (LD) Zboril and (LW) Lysell Boeser to NJ for (LD/RD) Graves and 2nd (2022) Miller to NYR for 1st (2022), (RW) Kravtsov and (LD) Lundkvist Rathbone and Dickinson for a 3rd? (somewhere) Hoglander - Pettersson - Podkolzin Domi (Lysell) - Horvat - Kravtsov Pearson - UFA - UFA Highmore - Lammikko - Motte * Domi's a UFA at the end of the season, maybe Lysell slots on that spot in 2022/23. Clearing cap, getting younger and faster OEL - Graves Hughes - Schenn Zboril - Burroughs Bean Lundkvist 2022 Draft 1st 1st 2nd 3rd 3rd
  20. My worry is that they wait until next year to try and re-sign Miller, and he becomes difficult. We know he has a temper and is easily frustrated. Does Allvin want to have to deal with this next year? Miller has given no indication he wants to play in VAN. He says he loves the role he's currently playing and enjoys playing in VAN, but that doesn't mean much. He could also want to play that role on a US team. His value will also be a lot lower after the TDL if he's not moved. I've been flip-flopping on what to do with Miller, he's a great player, but I think they should cash in their chips on him and look to the future. They have great goaltending in Demko, so now I'm hoping they rebuild the D, to be one of the best. A Miller return could really help them here.
  21. I'm thinking to CBJ - Myers to VAN - Domi and Boqvist CBJ could use a RD (Myers) for their playoff push. VAN could use Boqvist for their future. Domi is a UFA after this season and is tied for 7th in team scoring. Not like they'd be lost without him IMO. Maybe he re-signs in VAN? Whatever happens, Canucks need to clear cap and add young players.
  22. I'm getting the feeling that they won't be trading Miller this TDL, and maybe not in the offseason either. Could be the 2023 TDL or maybe they re-sign him. And maybe management will make a decision next year - Bo or JT? If Boeser signs 5 x $6, then maybe keep him, but he'll probably want quite a bit more. So, I say trade him for a RD. I like Garland, he has a lot of skill, but it's either him or Hoglander IMO. Canucks got to be thinking of the speed and physicality of the demanding playoffs. I think Hoglander would fare better in the post season. Trade Garland for a 1st+
  23. a 1st, a player and a prospect to BOS - 1st (2022), Jason Dickinson and Toni Utunen to VAN - 1st (2022), Jake DeBrusk
  24. I believe Amirov has some serious health issues (brain tumor) I like the NJ trade
