Not sure what VAN would get back in trades, but this is where I envision some players going: Horvat - PHI Boeser - NJ Pearson - BOS Myers - CBJ

It's an interesting idea, Hogz is a young LW as well, and they have similar stats. Both could do better, but is it too soon for a change of scenery? They're both still young. Not sure Yzerman is ready to give up on Zadina.

The Canucks have goaltending in Demko, they still need a good backup. Spencer Martin? I'd like the Canucks to really improve the D. Maybe that means trading Hamonic and Poolman, and possibly Boeser, Horvat, Garland and/or Pearson. Imagine Demko with this D in front of him: OEL - Carlo Hughes - Severson K. Miller - Myers Maybe they also pick up Lysell or Kravtsov, as examples. Great goaltending and D can go a long way.

Canucks have two lines that are pretty solid Hoglander - Pettersson - Podkolzin Highmore - Lammikko - Motte Maybe they should make Petey the captain, the future starts now, kind of thing. I believe they want Petey to eventually be the leader of this team, building around him and Quinn (and Thatcher). They could get quite the haul trading Miller, Horvat, Boeser, Garland and Pearson. Well, Pearson is definitely tougher, probably kick Brock's a** They can both shoot real good, Pearson doesn't get enough credit here. Speed is probably even, both are decent playmakers Boeser will cost around $4m more a season

Listening this morning, a couple of times the radio guys had to correct him, or argued with him, because he talks a lot, but kind of makes stuff up as he goes. Then he backtracks and looks even more unqualified.

Change the name to the Vancouver Killers (short for killer whales), with the black skate jerseys, new mean orca logo with blood in the water (red) and highlights (yellow) - would tie into the colour scheme. Hey, if NJ can be called the Devils and no one complaining...

Welcome to that hockey! There is no question Demko is the starter. Boudreau made a mistake and put the wrong guy in, and then made another mistake not pulling him after 3 goals on 8 shots. But, Demko, he the man. Halak is a hack. Hopefully lesson learned, never put Halak in, ever.

Another year of bragging rights for Jack. I was watching Miller and Garland in both games, really hoping they'd shine and impress. It was the opposite IMO. Sure Miller got 3 apples over the two games, but so what? He and Garland we're pretty bad by their standards. Devils and Rangers fans probably find it laughable what VAN is expecting in return for these players. I can almost hear Miller and Garland's value starting to decrease....

Rutherford himself could've slapped on a couple of phone books for pads and played better than Halak.

I hope they don't re-sign and keep Boeser. Not if they want to be a fast aggressive physical team. Brock can shoot, but the money can be spent elsewhere, where they need it - D

It's a reality check. The Canucks aren't good enough. Demko creates an illusion that VAN is a playoff team. Without him though, they're not good. Miller gets a lot of love, but he gets frustrated and disappears when the team faces adversity. I think it's time to clean house. I look at teams like ANA, NJ, DET and all of their good prospects and young players. Canucks are going to be left behind again. Who do they got developing? Focht? Canucks need more and better prospects and young players.

Halak makes lil Mikey DiPietro look like Ken Dryden Halak is no longer an NHL goalie and I hope he never sees ice time again. Well, okay, they can let him take the pregame skate with the team before he plants his butt on the pine. Forget about trading this guy. Who's going to want him? lol He's terrible. They should do a drug test, maybe he smokes a lot of cannabis. His puck tracking and reaction time are way off.
