I hope they don't trade Hoglander. He's been snake bit for a while now, but eventually the flood gates will open and his confidence will grow. I think he could end up scoring 30+ goals a year.

The Canucks need to let the young guys develop properly. That's why Rathbone hasn't been called up either (before his injury). I have a feeling that in order for a prospect to get into the Canucks lineup, they're going to have to kick down the door. I do like the idea of adding Chychrun, but he's not the best skater, so I really wonder if this is just a rumour to garner more interest from teams like NYR and BOS I thought about a possible offer sheet for an RFA earlier (Tkachuk), but then realized JR is not going to give CGY or any team their 1sts. I'm assuming ARI would want a 1st in the trade for Chychrun? Then it's not happening. If they traded Miller or Horvat or Boeser, etc. then I hope they bring in a Dman NYR - Braden Schneider or K'Andre Miller BOS - Brandon Carlo or Charlie McAvoy

It sounds like Bo or Miller could be leaving, can't see them keeping both and then there's Boeser and Garland Maybe the Canucks should offer sheet Tkachuk after the season.

Yes he is, but it's all good I just hope this win doesn't trick them into thinking playoffs this year is still possible. Hope they're better forecasters than that anyway. Looking forward to the TDL and Draft. Allvin needs to get VAN another 1st+

If you close your eyes and imagine: The Canucks player wearing the C, screaming pure joy and jubilation, hoisting that big silver trophy high for the first time in franchise history. Who's is that player? JT or Bo? A nice team without pushback will not win the Cup

This is why I'd be for trading Bo, re-signing Miller and then giving him the C. The team is without an identity, and I think Horvat, as the captain, is partly the reason. He displays little emotion and a must-win-at-all-costs attitude, like a captain should. He doesn't drag his team into the fight. He's leaving that up to Miller, Garland, Motte, Highmore, Lammikko...the list goes on. Where's the captain when they need a goal or a spark? He disappears too often IMO.

But why when they could get a similar player in Chiasson? Both are big RWers, Chiasson is a little bit bigger and 3 years younger, also almost $3m cheaper.

I wonder, with Allvin being a new GM, wanting to impress his mentor and saviour Jim Rutherford, and having more than half of his A/GMs being women - will they make any decisions and player moves? I can see Allvin being super cautious. JR says everyone's opinion matters and I wonder if there will be disagreements and a whole lotta yaketty yack in the boardroom, without really deciding on much. Can't keep using Benning's roster, put your stamp on it Patrik. Horvat, Boeser, Dickinson, Myers, Poolman and Halak Pearson stays because at least he sticks up for his team mates and drops the gloves when needed....Bo

I feel the games from here on out aren't about making the playoffs, but like an audition - who's too slow and not engaged in the play and just floating out there? See ya!

There's so much uncertainty with the team. I wondered if they would make a move or two to try and help get in the playoffs, but it appears they're letting the chips fall where they may with what they have. Maybe they'll wait to see where they're at just before the TDL, and if the playoffs are out of reach, they'll be sellers. I wonder what Allvin's team will look like to start the 2022/23 season.

2022 Draft is supposed to be a strong one (I'm guilty of not doing my homework on the prospects yet, as I really thought the Canucks would make a serious run at a playoff spot. I'll be taking a closer look now. We see what happens when the VAN goaltenders aren't spectacular. They can't be expected to be spectacular every night, though. This game exposed the Canucks as a bad team with great goaltending most of the time. Time to think about the future. Trade Boeser and Horvat for a 1st+ each. That would give VAN three 1sts this coming Draft, plus prospects in the trades.

I wonder if there could possibly be a Horvat for Kotkaniemi or Necas deal at some point

It's not JR making the moves though, it's Allvin. He's the one managing the team now, but he seems patient, so I'm not sure if he'll do anything soon. He might wait and see how the team responds after this bad loss. I fully expect VAN to be sellers at the TDL though. The way EDM, CGY, ANA and LA, etc. have been playing, VAN won't make the payoffs. EDM added Kane and will make the playoffs CGY added Toffoli and will make the playoffs VAN is still using Jimbo's roster and expecting a different result

It's all about speed and skill now, being aggressive on pucks, and checking. Boeser is half a step behind a lot of the time. Yes, he has a great shot when he has time, but it's a fast game and he needs to react quicker. He's also a fairly slow skater, compared to a Highmore and Motte, for example. One thing I forgot to mention in the Sharks game. Gadjovich looked better, like he got faster. Bad move giving that guy away IMO.

Congrats to the Slovaks winning their first ever medal in hockey (Bronze). Seeing them give each other their medals was awesome.
