  1. Was pointed out: 2022/23 Miller will be making $5.25 Boeser will be making $7+ This is just wrong
  2. Interesting, but PHI may be hurting for Cs (top 6), especially if Giroux is gone. Could Horvat possibly end up in Philly? maybe for Konecny+ or Farabee+?
  3. Fanny, sounds like she should be playing Bingo I wonder, with Rask, is MIN making room for someone?
  4. I'm now thinking they should just re-sign their best forward (Miller). He brings almost everything. Boeser and Garland on the other hand, have a lot of value and I don't believe are a part of the future success of this team. They have their faults. Just a hypothetical: Miller - Horvat - Kapanen Hoglander - Pettersson - Podkolzin Motte - Zacha - ?? ?? - Lammikko - Highmore
  5. He didn't play well, but he's a really good leader, the captain, and good at faceoffs (maybe not last night) What would the Canucks get for him? I have no idea what his value might be.
  6. So, trade them expensive players for top prospects and pick? There's this thing called a salary cap...
  7. Lots of people seem to dislike DeBrusk. Sure, he's been pretty poor the last two years, it's not working out well for him in BOS and he's probably not getting much ice time or PP. He could be a 20-goal scorer on the Canucks though, maybe in a bigger role? One of those change of scenery situations? I would prefer Zacha if I had the choice, but maybe it depends on what else BOS is throwing in. They might really want DeBrusk off the payroll so they can add another player (Garland). Not sure a late 1st is enough as an add, though. Maybe something like DeBrusk and Lysell for Garland?
  8. Garland has some sweet skills, but he's tiny and slow. Sure, it looks like he's moving a hundred miles an hour with his little legs just-a-goin', but he's not that fast or physical. Garland would take an absolute beating in the playoffs
  9. Got a feeling we may see a Conor Garland trade: Either: 1. to BOS for Jake DeBrusk+ 2. to NJ for Pavel Zacha+
  10. Canucks were ahead in shots early, something silly like 14-3. Easy win eh? Canucks should clobber the Sharks tonight, but wait! Hold on......the Sharks came back? more than once? and they scored the tying goal with half a second left in the game, giving the Sharks a point? There were times during this game the Canucks looked slow and not engaged. They're in a playoff chase, but they played with little urgency. What, 4 days off not enough rest? Canucks are better off with a high draft pick IMO. They aren't good enough. Can barely beat the Sharks, when it should've been a convincing victory. Trade Boeser, Pearson and Dickinson (geez, he's terrible)
  11. So, where do people think Brock will go? NJ? WAS? BOS? MIN?
  12. Frank Seravalli seems to think Boeser could be on his way out. He's due a $7.5 QA, and that's expensive for a team wanting to shed cap. Rutherford and Allvin have made it known that they want the Canucks to get faster, and that right now they are an average speed team. Not good enough. Boeser is expensive and he isn't fast. He doesn't fit with what they want to do in VAN.
  13. If I hear "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" one more time, I'm gonna scream, maybe throw the TV out the window. .

Mighty debatable, subjective question. One could argue the dance/disco thing would hybrid with rock & evolve into some cool tunes..like Stones, Miss You; Wild Cherry, Play That Funky Music etc...

Folks mostly had fun back then, & bands weren't afraid to be different.

But then it could also be it's simply the music(AM, FM) from my youth?

The 80s gave us The Talking Heads at their peak:

      Paul's Boutique:

      The Smiths

      and &^@#ing thrash metal!

The 80s at its best was very very very good. Of course no decade compares to the 70s with what Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyyd brought on their own let alone all the other amazing acts. The 90s is the one decade I'd put up there...yes above the 60s.  The amount of new styles of hip hop, punk and rock in the 90s makes it maybe the decade that music most moved forward as a whole.

      Just for 90s kicks...some Wu Tang ;)

  14. Sound like there could be some teams that were interested in Miller, are now looking at other options, because the Canucks haven't made a decision on whether to keep him or commit to a trade. I can't seeing Miller going anywhere this season, that'll buy them some time to make a trade in the off season or next season. I could see guys like Garland and Pearson being dealt, possibly Myers.
  15. Sounds like Giroux could be heading to COL? I guess that means the Avs are out of the Miller chase? The Canucks still have a chance at playoffs, so I don't expect any major players to go anywhere. Minor moves at the TDL, major moves in the offseason
  16. Miller (50%), Chiasson and Schenn (I'd hate to see them go) (RD) Braden Schneider (LD) Matthew Robertson (C/LW) Filip Chytil (RW) Vitali Kravtsov 1st
  17. Is Miller overvalued? He's never scored 30 goals in his career. Or 29...or 28... Is it possible that the team itself is bad, but Miller and Demko have given them a chance to win every night? Miller, on a contender is probably middle 6C, hardly their best player
  18. That's true, no guarantee they'll play MIN, EDM or NSH, having a chance to make it to the 2nd round. If they play COL, CGY, VGK, it probably won't end well. I guess I should've included a 3rd option - re-signing Miller long term. I don't believe this is the right decision though. I think he's playing his best hockey of his life this year, but they're not built for playoffs yet. By the time they will be ready to make a serious run, 30+ year old Miller and his contract could be an albatross - especially if he's unhappy and mailing it in as he's done in the past.
  19. Would people prefer: 1. The Canucks keep Miller this year, make the playoffs and get knocked out in the 2nd round. They end up with the #20 pick in the 20220 Draft. They end up trading him next year, at a lesser return (because he's in his final year of his contract, and a year older). 2. Trade Miller at the TDL at his maximum value to get the retool started, acquiring prospect and picks. The Canucks would end up with the #10 pick in the 2022 Draft.
  20. I like it, but not sure NYR offers Schneider (LD) K'Andre Miller, (RD) Nils Lundkvist and (C) Filip Chytil?
  21. Really don't like that CGY took a bunch of Canucks players and are now prepped to make a deep run. They've got great goaltending, so you never know. So, maybe the Canucks should throw a wrench into the Flames plans, by trading Miller (50%) and Garland to EDM for Draisaitl. Those two teams can beat up on each other for the next couple of years - neither will win the Cup anyway, and then it'll be VAN's turn. Pettersson - Draisaitl - Boeser Hoglander - Horvat - Podkolzin ahh dreamin'
  22. F*** Boston We want all of their good prospects, thanks
