  1. Miller cost Benning: (G) Marek Mazanek 3rd (2019) - (G) Hugo Alnefelt 1st (2020) - (LD) Shakir Mukhamadullin This was Benning's best trade by far, especially if Allvin gets the return some think he could. possibly: Player - (C) Filip Chytil? Prospect - (LD) Nils Lundkvist? 1st That is called a good investment, good job Canucks (if they trade him)
  2. I agree with you, Horvat and Boeser could be a C+ Luke Schenn should be a B
  3. I could see them trading Boeser and Garland for D and picks, and keeping Miller for next season. Maybe they decide to trade him at the 2023 TDL? Boeser lacks in a lot of areas, a bit of a one trick pony, and he'll be a little expensive. He's also too slow. But he could look good on Jack's wing. Boeser to NJ for Severson and a 2nd (2022) Garland lacks speed and size, but he's so elusive. I really like Garland, but the Canucks need to become more physical a team. Garland for Debrusk, 1st (2022), and 2nd (2023)
  4. The core is still really young, and they aren't ready to make a serious run yet. Take a step back, make some trades to free up cap space, acquire more draft picks. Get Klimovich, Lockwood, Juulsen and Martin into the lineup next season.
  5. Do we all still think he'll (Petey) turn into the second coming of Peter Forsberg? or Mason Raymond?
  6. wait...you forgot they also traded LE, Roussel and Beagle - although, I doubt this upset JT What concerns me is Miller's attitude at times. He can be lazy and occasionally gives up on plays. He's too emotional, gets frustrated easily. But, if they re-sign him to a big contract extension, then I guess they do.
  7. Assuming Garland is traded to BOS and Miller is traded to NYR 2022/23? Podkolzin - Pettersson - Boeser Pearson - Horvat - Lysell* Hoglander - Chytil - Motte Debrusk - Lammikko - Highmore Lockwood Klimovich OEL - Myers Hughes - Schenn Lundkvist - Poolman Burroughs Juulsen Demko Martin * not sure he'll be ready for next season though
  8. How difficult of a negotiation would it be for JR and Allvin - re-signing Miller. Is he the type to ask for the moon, with a full NMC? It makes me nervous that they could lock him up long term - because he's the best player right now - but after a few years he'll get frustrated with something, and as he gets older, his value will decrease. Meanwhile the young guns (Petey, Hoglander, Podkolzin, Hughes etc) will have taken a bigger role and might be ready to carry the team. Miller could end up being a very expensive $3C in a few years. Where was Miller on the depth chart in Tampa? Bottom 6? That's what he actually is, on a contender. On the Canucks, he's their best player lol Don't be fooled JR!
  9. Podkolzin? He's really not that good yet, still learning. To be honest, I was expecting more this year from him.
  10. Lots of speculation, but it could be weeks before anything actually happens. But, for fun... Heard Craig Button flirt with the idea of trading Pettersson, instead of Miller, who they would re-sign long term (5-6 years). to CBJ - (C/LW) Elias Pettersson to VAN - 1st (2022), 1st (2022) - they have two, (LD) Jake Bean and (LW/RW) Oliver Bjorkstrand
  11. I have a feeling this type of trade will happen: to BOS - Garland to VAN - Lysell and a 1st
  12. Seen examples of some trade packages for Miller on The Hockey Writers site: NYR (most likely destination) - (LD) Nils Lundkvist - (LW) Kappo Kakko or (C) Filip Chytil - 1st BOS - (G) Jeremy Swayman - prospect - (LD) Mason Lohrei - prospect - 1st - (possibly Jake Debrusk added) MIN - (RD) Calen Addison - prospect - (LW) Adam Beckman - prospect - (LW) Jordan Greenway - 1st CGY (least likely destination) - (LW) Jakob Pelletier - prospect - (LD) Juuso Valimaki - prospect - 1st Gotta say, I like the NYR offer a lot more than the others (if it happens)
  13. Reminds me of when Washington traded Filip Forsberg for Martin Erat. Ouch And some people complain about Benning's trades
  14. I thought LE would score 20-30 goals a season too
  15. Apparently, Dhaliwal reported a little while ago that JR met with Miller and Boeser camps yesterday, to get an idea what kinds of re-signing deals they want. Seems Miller is wanting 5-6 years at well over $7. So, Miller will be 35-36 when his next deal ends? I don't like it, he'll be too old to be paying that kind of money to. The Canucks aren't in a position to go for it.
  16. I think they could really create a bidding war for Miller. If NYR isn't willing to part with Schneider +, then okay, go to Washington or Pittsburgh. The Rangers would love that
  17. Flores gets passed over for a coaching job and he's blaming the colour of his skin? He sounds like a delusional Antonio Brown, thinking he's great and deserves X.
  18. Really very curious what kinds of offers JR is getting regarding Miller. Smart the way they're doing it, rather than running out of time, they put Miller up For Sale early, and seeing what they could get for him. Then, if a deal makes sense, I imagine they do that. Some Pettersson trade talk right now, but I believe the only untouchables are: Horvat, Pettersson, Hughes and Demko. I'd be happy with a Top 4 Dman and a good #3C as a return, for Miller
  19. I guess this is for Allvin and Castonguay to figure out. So, more of the same then, except we pay the players more?
  20. Imagine the assets they could get by trading Miller, Boeser and Garland. Canucks could get bigger, meaner and faster. Something they'll really need if they ever make the playoffs again. Miller is at an all time overvalue - cash in!!! MTL needs D after losing Petry. Myers to MTL for Anderson and a 2nd (recoup the 2020 2nd) Trade Miller, Boeser and Garland for bottom 6, a Top 4 D, prospects and picks. Let's stop spinning our wheels here. Time to get serious about building a winner again.
  21. The future success of this team will be with guys like Pettersson, Hughes, Demko, Podkolzin, etc. Miller is ready to help a team win a Cup now, Canucks aren't there. Trade him for the moon, help set up Petey and the boys for years to come. I don't want to give the grumpy sourpuss $8 for the next 5-8 years, no thanks.
  22. I would say yes, slightly. Petey has proven himself more as an NHLer by winning the Calder and being a two-time All-Star.
  23. MTL is going to need D to MTL: Myers to VAN: Toffoli and (LD) Kaiden Guhle clears a bit of cap
