  1. He could be added to a Miller or Garland trade, to a team on the verge of making a Cup run
  2. I agree, Miller has been great, but they should be thinking more about the future success of the team. That means better younger players and prospects, more high draft picks who could join the team in coming years. They don't have much there right now. Miller and Motte seem to be peaking in their prime right now (and at their highest value), but the rest of the team doesn't seem to be. Petterson, Hughes, Podkolzin, Hoglander, Boeser, (Klimovich) are all 24 or younger and still learning. Some still need to get stronger and bulk up. Might be a couple of years before they're ready to really compete. Horvat, Garland, Pearson and OEL are all really good support guys I hope they can keep Trade: Miller, Motte, Schenn and Halak
  3. Rumours out there are saying NYR are very interested in either Miller or Garland. What if JR trades Garland instead of Miller? What could they get back for him?
  4. What I think maybe could possibly happen, just for fun to NJ - Connor Garland and Luke Schenn to VAN - Ty Smith, Tomas Tatar and 2nd to NYR - JT Miller to VAN - Filip Chytil, Nils Lundqvist and 1st to MIN - Brock Boeser to VAN - Jordan Greenway and Carson Lambos
  5. Both Kakko and Lafreniere have question marks, and it's a risk. I think the Rangers would have to add (salary as well). Ryan "he's an old man, but can still kick a55" Reaves?
  6. He's a big boy at 6'3" -200ish, currently playing in the KHL. Picked 9th overall in 2018. This could be an interesting line one day: Podkolzin - Horvat - Kravtsov It sounds like they'd be exhausting to play against
  7. Thinking, maybe the Rangers don't want to trade Lafreniere or Kakko, because they're both super high draft picked prospects, but they offer this package instead for JT Miller. RW - Vitali Kravtsov RD - Braden Schneider 1st (2022) Does VAN take it?
  8. I know Garland is a fan favourite, but he isn't worth a boatload like Miller. My guess would be something like: to NJ LW/RW - Connor Garland to VAN LD/RD - Ty Smith LW/C - Janne Kuokkanen 2nd (2022)
  9. No. Can't win without great goaltending.
  10. I know he's older (34), but he also becomes a UFA at the end of this season and I believe still has lots of game. He's second in team scoring, ahead of Crosby. Maybe he signs on a cheaper short-term contract ($5?) to play in VAN under JR and Allvin? And if maybe they trade Boeser or Garland to NJ for Severson? Ekman-Larsson - Letang Hughes - Severson Too much offensive D? Letang is good defensively too, though, and Hughes has really improved a lot going from a -24 last season to a +9 this year.
  11. Miller Boeser Motte Hoglander Poolman Schenn I see them all being traded between now and training camp, but the Canucks D will be real good next season. Build from the net out. OEL - ? Hughes - ? ? - Myers Juulsen Burroughs Rathbone
  12. Did Gaudreau really deserve a penalty shot? That was BS as far as I was concerned. He still managed to get a shot off, he just missed. Imagine how bad the Canucks would be with average goaltending, Demko has saved them too many times to count. Really hoping Allvin can improve that D for him.
  13. I literally had to mute on occasion when Cassie Campbell wouldn't shuddup. She's pretty terrible, what a Flames homer, and on HNIC?
  14. Well, Miller does have an extra year left, so there really isn't a rush to trade him, but his value is as high as it'll ever be IMO. I want an extra 1st at the 2022 Draft, so however they need to get that, do it
  15. The encouraging news is the Canucks have picked up at least a point in 15 of their last 19 games - since Boudreau took over. But I don't think it'll be enough to get in at the end of the day. Cowgary and Deadmonton are playing really well, it's a big hill to climb. And when the Canucks come out with that lazy effort against a division rival like they did, hardly able to muster a shot on net, maybe the high draft pick and changes are the way to go this year. They're still trying to win with Benning's team. Good try, but...
  16. What was it? One shot in the first period? 3 shots at the midway point? lol, playoffs
  17. They're not making the playoffs. Okay, Allvin, make them better
  18. Untouchables Demko Hughes Better get a Big Haul back Horvat Miller Pettersson Boeser Garland
  19. to NYR C/W - JT Miller (10% retained) To VAN LW - Alexis Lafreniere LD - K'Andre Miller 1st (2022) ___________________________________ to NJ RW - Brock Boeser (Jack Hughes gets Brock on his wing) LD - Jack Rathbone RD - Luke Schenn to VAN RD - Damon Severson C - Pavel Zacha
  20. I think Bo said this before Green and Benning were fired, yes? Those were dark days. Bo is the captain and still youngish, he'll be 27 in April. If JR and Co. make some difficult trades, they could rebuild this team in 2-3 years and be a consistent playoff team. Bo will only be 29 or 30 and he'll have several years to win in VAN. Sounds great to me. I really hope Allvin can fix the D a bit first. They need another Top 4 right shot Dman. Boeser+?
  21. You're probably right, the Canucks could probably do better than that package. After a bit more thought, I kind of agree. I was just trying to think of other trade possibilities, other than a trade with the Rangers. The criteria is the Canucks need to get younger and faster
  22. Lysell's got 32 points in 25 games with the Giants. He was ranked Top 10 in many draft lists, but went later (probably because of his size). He's still a kid, though, and could develop into a Top 6 player, once he fills out. Carlo is a 6'6" 217 R-shot Dman and he's only 25. With this trade the Canucks would get younger and faster, something JR has said they want to do. I guess BOS could add a 2nd? (which the Canucks don't have this year)
  23. BOS is also rumoured to be in on Miller Could there possibly be a to BOS: JT Miller and (RD) Luke Schenn to VAN: (RD) Brandon Carlo and Fabian Lysell ??
  24. Miller is in the win-now window of his career. The rest of the Canucks aren't. Trade him for a King's ransom now, and within 2-3 years, the team will be ready to take a serious run. The Canucks won't be making a serious run with Miller. So, what do you want? Miller on the team or a Cup in a few years?
