I agree with some here, Boeser isn't the same. His shot is his bread and butter, and even that has become ordinary. The game today is about speed. Luke Schenn is another skating-in-molasses type of player, but he brings other intangibles, like his physicality, helping the Canucks thin D depth and his responsible, veteran D play. Boeser, on the other hand, doesn't really bring anything else, other than that shot.

The refs tried really hard to get McSucky chances on the PP. It was disgusting. -

I despise that cheater McDavid more than Marchand. -
[Report] Canucks name Patrik Allvin as GM

It feels like they're really building something special from the top down, and I can imagine other team's fans are wishing their owners would do the same. I'm excited at what this new group might do with the team, roster moves, trades, draft picks. Seemed before they were on the cusp of doing something in the bubble, but there were issues with the teams over the years (Loui, Jake, etc) They now have the coaching staff in place and maybe one more A/GM to hire. Cup in 5 years -
[Proposal] Miller for kakko or lafriener
Nucker 67 replied to Paul-walker's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I wouldn't mind Kakko on the team, but doubt they trade Lafreniere. It sounds like NYR really want Miller, so they might be willing to give a lot for him, especially if suddenly other teams want him too. NYR could overspend to have that Miller edge heading into the playoffs. -
They're about the same height, but not every small, determined player will become Marty St. Louis. The odds are stacked against him. I wish DiPietro the best, especially as long as he's a Canuck. Edit - Just looking at Halak's stats over his career. Quite good actually, for a 36 year old he's only had one season in his entire pro career where he was over 3.00 GAA.

Why do some want Debrusk? He's not that good. -

I wonder how gargantuan her ring will be when the Canucks win the Cup? -

Great hire! So, the GM and another A/GM left to go? -

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
Nucker 67 replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
What about something different (other than NYR), the money sort of works to FLA: Miller to VAN: Hornqvist (25%), Tippett and a 1st (2022) I'd say FLA's chances of winning their first Cup increase greatly with Miller in their forward group. The Canucks get another 1st and Tippett (22) to join the young core. Hornqvist (35) is old, but he can still play and brings some veteran snarl. He has this and next year left. Could the Canucks get more? Maybe also a 2nd (2023)? -
COVID has really hit this team hard over the last two seasons. A lot of players missing games, got to be tough for Boudreau, inventing new lines every game and still keeping them competitive. It makes me wonder if JR will make any changes at all. He may believe a healthy Canucks roster can be enough. This roster is depleted right now, so shipping out players is probably not high on JR's to do list. He seems to be taking a long enough time even hiring a GM and A/GMs

Game highlites -
I believe they want to get younger, so all of the core players can grow together. This includes the 1st round picks (players) over the next couple of years. I think they want to also be faster and more aggressive. IMO, these players will (still) be on the team in 2 years: Pettersson Hoglander Podkolzin Klimovich Hughes Woo Garland - including because he provides a lot of aggressive, fast play OEL - they have him for a while and he's not going anywhere Demko

Does anyone else notice Boeser's shoulder shrug throughout the game? Is he adjusting his equipment? Does he have a nervous twitch? Is he trying to be tough?
