  1. I agree. He's too slow and $7+ is a lot IMO. I think the Canucks would get a very nice return in a trade, and get a player with speed (and possibly size) that could help this team be better.
  2. Watching Boeser in last night's game, I found that he was a little behind the play. Boeser is not a fast player, and to really compete, the Canucks need to be a fast team. I'd trade Boeser before the big raise.
  3. May have been mentioned earlier in this thread (I didn't check), but if the Canucks could almost beat the Panthers without Horvat, Miller, Garland, Demko, Halak - then I wonder if JR feels a bit more comfortable trading a guy like Miller, for example.
  4. What a boost to the youth movement getting one of those guys. The thing is, with Miller and his contract being so desirable, teams will overpay the longer JR holds out. Maybe he creates a bidding war.
  5. If the Canucks are in a playoff spot, I'm not sure they would trade their best player. If they go on a bit of a losing streak and miss out, then I'm all for trading Miller for a big return.
  6. I believe Rutherford's intentions are to hire a new GM (Allvin) who he will mentor. This definitely requires a "yes man", which explains why JR isn't hiring an experienced, independent free thinker to manage the team. Nope, JR will actually be running the show, and the GM and A/GMs will learn under him. This is awesome. JR has been there, done that. I'm glad he's hiring open-minded, eager, smart individuals who want to make this team a Stanley Cup winner. Everyone will be on the same page with the same goal. I'm wondering how some will react when Doerrie claims that Lammikko is the best analytics player on the team lol More excited now for the future than ever with the Canucks, I believe playoffs are still possible, and the Draft is going to be fun, finally having a 1st round pick again.
  7. To me, at first glance, DiPietro looks a little dejected. His body language. Maybe he was hoping for the start to get another shot, and he's been passed over on the goalie depth chart.
  8. Was never a fan. I just couldn't get into the theatrics and dramatic songs. This really overweight guy with long hair, waiving his white hanky, but there is no denying the impact he had in the 70s and beyond with that album. I last saw him on Trump's The Apprentice years back, and he seemed like a really nice, gentle giant of a guy. RIP
  9. And maybe this? Boeser and Hamonic to PIT for Kapanen and Marino EDIT - PIT adds a pick (2nd or 3rd?)
  10. I don't mind the Miller/Schenn trade to NYR D (future) Hughes - Schneider Rathbone - Woo Cs Horvat Pettersson Chytil and the extra 1st and 3rd are nice, refill that prospect pool a bit Don't want Laine
  11. Canucks want to get younger, Domi is 26. Be nice to pluck a couple of younger players and a pick. (e.g.) Texier, Bean and a 1st (2022) for Miller (25%) CBJ have two 1sts next year
  12. Does anyone really think the Canucks are contenders, or even a playoff team this year? I recently heard Dhaliwal whining and crying about "what message will that send to Bo and Quinn, who want to win?" Dhali isn't seeing the big picture. Trade Miller at the TDL to the highest bidder. In return the Canucks will probably get a 1st, a prospect and a player. WTF? Take that and run. Next year's draft is a good one and the Canucks desperately need Grade A prospects. Other than Rathbone and possibly Klimovich, they don't have anyone. Also trade Boeser for an upgrade on D. Let's stop toiling at mediocrity and build a championship team. Draft and develop.
  13. He's been very underwhelming so far. I thought he was supposed to bring some physicality. Just floats out there.
  14. Maybe something like this? Boeser and Poolman Kapanen, Pettersson and a 2nd PIT may need to add another mid-round pick or prospect
  15. ...but I thought a lot were saying Travis was a real good coach with the young players in developing them. Now a real NHL coach is saying Hoglander needs to learn how to play the game. Good development there Travis. Ouch lol
  16. Don't want Toffoli back, his best days are now behind him.
  17. Would suck to lose Miller and that passion, his production, but the Canucks would get a really nice return for him. Imagine having a Braden Schneider paired with Hughes or Rathbone one day or Chytil centering the 3rd line, and extra picks. I'm all for the Canucks improving and one day winning a Cup, and trading Miller may be a first step in doing that.
  18. Maybe this is better: $2,000,000 or less = Great game, 2G! $2,000,000 to $6,000,000 = well, it's about time, been waiting for him to produce $6,000,000 or more = Finally! Now play that way every game, or else you will be criticized
  19. Cautious optimism. It was only one game, let's see how he does against NSH
  20. He's one of those guys - not young (25+) playoff type player playing on a non-playoff team. Motte is 26, gets injured often, but his value is probably as high as it will ever be. Try and get a 2nd or a good prospect for him
