  1. Ruins my Saturday night a little bit, but it's about people staying safe. Lots of other things to do. Looking forward to a rested Canucks team once they get going again. The Canucks D depth is getting exposed here, even though they've won games. You know it's rough when a possibly healthy Poolman gets people excited. I wonder if Rutherford makes a deal to bring in another Dman sooner rather than later.
  2. It's TOR, and it's amazing how they accommodate them and their fans. A 4:00 start so Leafs fans can watch and get to bed by 10:00? haha
  3. I'm thinking if the NHL doesn't cancel this game, then their goal is for the Canucks streak to be broken and for the Leafs to win on Saturday night in prime time.
  4. Oddly, no. Losing Miller would suck But come Draft Day I'd be pretty darn happy
  5. 6 in a row! 8 of the last 9! So impressive they're winning with that D. Demko is incredible. Felt bad for Podz getting that puck in the face, he looked miserable and I'm sure it hurt like heck. Brock's shot is back, what a laser. Same with Bo and Miller - great shots to score. I really believe with a few tweaks to the roster, upgrading the D, the Canucks could be contenders. Demko has what it takes. The so-called "experts" would strongly disagree, but F em, they don't know. I have a feeling the league will be shut down, though. COVID or Omicron has gotten out of hand (again). I hear the Flames have 5 players left able to play.
  6. Can't stand him, but I listen to Donnie & Dhali almost every day anyway. He might do pretty decent in their trivia, but he's ignorant. He also yells a lot, which annoys me. I imagine his household being very loud, everyone yelling at each other so they can be heard.
  7. Really looking forward to the Draft and seeing what type of players this new group will be drafting. Benning did draft some very good players over the years, such as: Demko Boeser Pettersson Rathbone Hughes Podkolzin Hoglander Klimovich Will this new group draft as well?
  8. I wouldn't put too much stock into blaming Clancey for the Penguins' drafts over the last few years. It hasn't been great, but isn't that the GM's call?
  9. I hadn't considered the Podkolzin affect, that would be amazing for him, to learn from and play with a Russian legend
  10. Malkin is a UFA at the end of this season. I'd be pretty thrilled if they signed him to a short term deal. Malkin Pettersson Horvat Rutherford said there was a lot of work to do, and I think he'll be pretty active from now until the TDL. Some players I can see leaving are: Pearson, Hoglander, Poolman, and maybe even a Top 6 player. Be great if he could snag another (2022) 1st rounder.
  11. Really like the pro scouting background. From what I understand, Rutherford would like a GM and then 3 A/GMs below the GM. President - Rutherford GM - ? A/GM - Clancey A/GM - ? A/GM - ? Smyl is a Special Advisor and Johnson is the GM of Abbotsford
  12. With the D in shambles right now Hamonic on LTIR Poolman,. Schenn and Hunt with COVID I wonder if Rutherford makes a play for Chychrun. It might cost Podkolzin+ though. That's the crappy part. EDIT - I just realized that Chychrun is also currently injured.
  13. What is ARI doing? Chychrun is only 23, and a really good Dman already. Shouldn't they be building around him and Keller, Hayton, etc?
  14. Rutherford will want to beef up the D, especially with all of the injuries. I could see him making a trade for a Dman, just not sure who. Chychrun would be great, but Rutherford isn't trading a 1st. How about Hoglander, Rathbone and a mid-round pick? Those guys are still really young and have a bright future. They could continue to develop well with Hayton and Keller, etc.
  15. I like how up front Rutherford is. He's not kidding that there is a lot of work ahead, and it's going to take a while to get this team right. Rutherford mentioned the Canucks are in the wrong part of the cycle to be trading 1st rounders. I guess Benning didn't get the memo on that. I'm really glad to hear that though, because VAN will have a 1st next year. Who knows, maybe Rutherford (and the new GM) will be shrewd and get VAN another 1st. Rutherford did mention the D being an area that could be better, so I think that may be the first trade, for a Dman. They'll probably get the new GM in there first though.
  16. No it isn't. I mean, no they aren't. Or is it no she isn't? Does he prefer that? It's a definite no, anyway
  17. Yes! and maybe Demko should pretend he has a hacking cough whenever he sees a white jersey in his crease.
  18. I wonder how CBJ feel about playing against a team dealing with COVID? Could be to the Canucks advantage, psychologically. GCG!
  19. Sounds like the new GM could be Patrik Allvin (currently A/GM in PIT)
