What was concerning to me is Petey saying he has needed to work harder in previous games, and last game he tried his best. It took him 23 games to try his best? And I doubt this is because he's Swedish and can't communicate proper English yet. I just got this feeling he was purposely not giving his all earlier, possibly sulking, but "someone" talked to him and smartened him up. My guess is Henrik. Next thing you know he donates $50K to the Canucks for Kids Fund and scores a beautiful goal with that rocket. He looked good last game, almost like Petey of old. Really hoping he's done moping or whatever it was, and he goes on a tear to prove to everyone how good he still is.

[Proposal] Trade Proposal - Fixing the defense
Nucker 67 replied to kenhodgejr's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Canucks do need to address the D though, and a trade seems to be the way to do that. To get a good Top 4 Dman though, will mean giving up on a good player. The Canucks only have 2 real Top 4 Dmen: Ekman-Larsson and Hughes Myers, Hamonic, Poolman and Burroughs are good bottom pairing guys. And Schenn is good as a #7/8 What about: to STL - Hamonic and Boeser to VAN - Parayko and Buchnevich Hamonic can play in the US Boeser gets closer to home and becomes STL top line RW Podz and Buchnevich are countrymen Hughes - Parayko pairing -
[Signing] Devils re-sign Jack Hughes

Reminds me of Dragon's Den, when someone goes in with a prototype product and no sales, and they value their company at a million dollars, based on potential. They never get deals. 55 points in 119 NHL games? Jack has done Jack so far -

Gotta say, I'm really glad Benning drafted Podkolzin over Caufield -
[Proposal] Trade Proposal - Fixing the defense

I'm all for trading either Miller or Boeser for a Top 4 Dman Then trade Pearson to BOS for Debrusk -
Last night was probably the first game Pettersson looked real good. He was engaged and quicker on pucks. It's great if the Canucks can turn it around, but I think they dug themselves too big a hole to claw back into playoffs talk. They would have to have an unbelievable run, and with that D, I'm not too optimistic. Trade Boeser for a Top 4 D, and then maybe...

Pettersson finally looked decent, nice goal. Demko stood on his head again to bail them out. Good team effort, but probably too little too late. I think they should trade Boeser for a Top 4 D -
I wouldn't go that far, but a win won't have that "yahoo!" effect it should. Maybe because Green will coach the next one and nothing will change. I don't have faith in Green or Baumgartner. I no longer have faith in Benning. I'm losing faith in Loui Pettersson and Boo (as in invisible) Horvat. It's going to take a lot more than a win against a bottom feeder to get me excited about this team again. Now, if they win 9 more in a row after this one? Then they've got something. But, we know...

Inactivity creating a lack of trust for fans (?)
Nucker 67 replied to PetterssonOrPeterson's topic in Canucks Talk
I'm a big Canucks fan, borderline obsessive. This version of the Canucks has been a huge disappointment. This was the year they finally got back to the playoffs. Oh how awesome for OEL and Garland! It's bloody embarrassing. -
Something's up with Petey. Does he want out? Or is he playing like this because he wants Green out? There were rumblings that it was some of the younger guys on the team being difficult and not buying in. My guess is Pettersson and Boeser. They just haven't been good and don't seem phased by it. They used to get pi**ed off when scored against and try to get one back. Not anymore. They look like they couldn't care less.

but.......Green.....

Plan A - make the playoffs Plan B - see Plan A I thought the owners would be more upset with losing all of that playoff revenue. They better figure this out fast, otherwise they'll be mathematically eliminated before Christmas. Benning: "Well, you know, we still might make the playoffs, and you know, there's also the Draft if that doesn't work out. I did pretty good there, and you know, the Canucks will get another real good player." Franc: "Okay Jim, you know what's best."

Maybe Francesco is listening to the wrong people - those that continue say say that Travis Green is a real good coach. He's really not, in the NHL anyway. -

Francesco doesn't care. Are they selling tickets and merchandise? That's all he cares about. -
Fire Green. Hire _____________ If Pettersson doesn't turn it around and pick it up with a new coach, trade him at the TDL.
-
Miller screamed at Green at practice: "We don't know what we're doing!" Babcock knows what he's doing Team needs someone they respect and feel confident in behind the bench.

Benning re-signed Hamonic. That was a mistake, guy can't even cross the border. Burroughs has been a nice surprise. Pettersson and Boeser have both been disappointing. Canucks could probably get a lot for them. Like, rebuild that defense and add a #3C Build the team around: Horvat Miller Garland Podkolzin Hoglander Motte Hughes OEL Myers Burroughs Demko
