  1. Are there lineups for the game? Who starts? Does Juolevi and Virtanen get back in?
  2. Those Leafs jerseys make the Canucks reverse retro jerseys look incredible. They're (TOR) pretty bad, with the grey trim it makes it look like a dirty 70s jersey. Numbers are also dark on dark, can't see them. Truly awful.
  3. Upgrades to the bottom 6 VAN may have to add Jake to trade Roussel, for example.
  4. IMO, darts and pool are as much a sport as chess, and poker, and gaming. I feel that a sport needs to include special clothing to play the sport at the highest level. e.g. any adult person can walk into a Vegas casino and play the game, then stroll down the street to the pub, having several drinks while they play some darts, maybe a little chess, a bit of pool. Then they get in a taxi, get back home, kick the feet up on the couch and play Call of Duty. This is no athlete.
  5. Jets always seem to beat the Canucks, but for some reason I feel differently about this game. I think Miller is the difference this time. So intense, he'll drag his team mates into the war. I see them being fast and relentless tonight. VAN will need great goaltending.
  6. Ceiling: "Hello Jake" Jake is what he is. Green and the Canucks have gone above and beyond for this guy, years of development and opportunity. Hoglander (the anti-Jake) has blown him out of the water. Jake is nothing more than a 4th liner on a contender, if that. Time to move on IMO, maybe he can sweeten a deal to trade one of the vets.
  7. Marchand is skilled, and a great player. A-hole yes, but he's good at least
  8. I think the initial eye test for the Tkachuks (Matthew and Brady) is "amazing picks, going to be incredibly competitive". But they're both so undisciplined, make donkeys of themselves and cross the line often. How long a career will they have, taking beatings like that, every other night? I don't think they're talented or skilled enough, and need to rely on antics to be affective. Reminds me of Sean Avery. Great pass on Matthew IMO. His own team mates probably dislike him.
  9. Kind of reminds me of a very skilled Jannik Hansen, awesome pick
  10. Interesting, I hope Lind pans out. I'm assuming Gaudette will be replacing Sutter as the #3C, but Sutter has looked great so far this year. His contract ends after this season. Should they re-sign Sutter for one year? He's very versatile, has size, great backhander Plays Centre and Wing, veteran leadership, etc. Or maybe SEA picks him up? I wish it was Roussel and Beagle's contracts up this year instead.
  11. I actually like the BPM line - the Heart that keeps the team running Not crazy about the Lotto Line, but it works. VAN has never had any Lotto luck though...
  12. Is Gaudette playing? I'd rather he take Roussel's spot. Rooster takes too many undisciplined penalties.
  13. Some would say it's clever. Your suggestions (Millionaire Line, Money Line, etc) make no sense. Yes, they make money, lots of it, but so does every other player.
  14. Can they sweep the mini series? I think so, and I'm sure the OTT players can't wait to get back home. I know they just need to TCB tonight, but the Canucks have a hellish road trip coming up. I hope they've got things sorted out for that. Pettersson looks to be almost back to normal, MIller is a grumpy F***. Does the guy ever smile? He scored and looked pi**ed off. lol Love his competitiveness and how serious he takes winning. "Bubble Demko" seems to be back as well. Great news. Curious as to why Gaudette has been a healthy scratch lately. Green's dog house? Maybe they didn't like that he dropped the gloves with Motte in practice a little while back.
  15. Travis is a little ahead of himself, he usually gives the excuses after they lose. Bad mindset Trav,. Pedal to the metal, unleash the fury, and BE MORE DESPERATE!
  16. Petey is a great young player, won the Calder 2 years ago. But this season, after the team lost Markstrom and Tanev, Petey hasn't looked himself, he looks unhappy and unmotivated TBH. I expect he'll bounce back and regain his scoring touch. I found this interesting in yesterday's paper:, an excerpt from an article by Steve Ewen: "Pettersson, 22, and Hughes, 21, are both pending restricted free agents and unable to bolt if they don't like what's happening to the Canucks." Got me thinking, why would he write that? Maybe they're both actually unhappy in VAN. I know Benning would never trade them, but what if? to NJ: Elias Pettersson to VAN: Jack Hughes + NJ would have to add. Hughes did go #1 and has 7 points in 6 games in his 2nd season, but Pettersson won the Calder, and has been outstanding prior to this season. Not saying I want to trade Petey or that it would happen, but what if he wanted out?
  17. Hindsite is 20/20, I mean...we could've had Gretzky. How would that have changed the organization?
  18. OTT does a bit better tonight, but VAN still wins 6-3 Pettersson with 1 assist, and everyone be like
  19. Is anyone happy with Canucks management these days?
  20. Yeah, the team really is like one big family. Marky and Tanev played a huge role. But it is a business, the kids know this. Even though Demko faced 35 (?) shots last night, which is way too many for OTT, I thought Demko finally looked dialed in. He was sharp, and that one goal was a fluke off his head. If the Canucks can tighten up that D (they looked better too, especially Benn), and get solid goaltending, they might win more games than not. That can change morale in a hurry, WINS
  21. I honestly don't think Pettersson is lacking confidence in himself, he appears to me to be unhappy. He's not battling like he used to, not putting in that extra D effort. Never see him smiling much anymore. I wonder if the off season changes have really affected him more than we know. Maybe he doesn't get along with the extrovert Schmidt? Maybe he misses having Marky around? I was watching him last night and I saw a player who isn't struggling because he can't. It looks like he's not giving his best.
