The best IMO, inspired so many. Hendrix and Rhoades were amazing, but Eddie was always on another level for me.

  4. Not upset, Toffoli is a pretty good forward, but I'd rather the Canucks solidify the D and goaltending.
  5. Really can't see Toffoli being re-signed, if they're chasing OEL. My guess is Markstrom and Tanev will be re-signed at reasonable deals. The D and goaltending will be very good. Ekman-Larsson - Myers Hughes - Tanev Edler - Rafferty Benn Markstrom Demko Maybe Tanev re-signs for under $5 to stay in VAN? Can they afford this? Edler has one year left at $6, and when that's done, Hughes will get his raise.
  6. During Benning's interview today, when asked about OEL, he quickly dodged the question, almost nervously. Maybe he didn't want to blurt out that they're close to a deal? If it falls through, then what? Will Benning go after Pietrangelo, Ristolainen, Ekblad or Barrie? Whatever happens, it's nice knowing VAN is now a destination of choice for some high level players. If OEL doesn't work out, there's probably several other good Dmen who would love to live and pay in VAN. I'm really excited for the changes to come and next season, hopefully there will be a season.
  7. And then the Canucks will knock the Knights out of the playoffs next year sweet justice
  8. Ekman-Larsson - Hughes Edler - Myers Juolevi - ?? That's a pretty great Top 4, and D wins championships. Sounds like ARI really wants Demko, but apparently it's a non-starter with Benning. Should Benning trade Demko and sign Lundqvist (cheap) to back up Markstrom for a year? King Henrik just wants to win, he doesn't need anymore money. They could always sign another reasonable UFA goalie in 2021/22, until DiPietro arrives. to ARI - Demko, Eriksson, Sutter and Virtanen to VAN - Ekman-Larsson and 2nd Not sure I would actually really want this, just another option.
  9. Sounds like Benning is also trying to acquire picks. If he can: - trade Eriksson - acquire OEL and draft picks the answer is Yes, he is a great GM
  10. Agree, save 3.2 and the prospects, and give him $5 (or whatever). He's a 25 year old giant who plays R and L. And then heading into the playoffs: Zadorov - Hughes Edler - Myers Juolevi - Tryamkin Rafferty
  11. Dear JB, If ARI is d*cking you around, please tell them you'll pass and get to re-signing Markstrom. They'll call back.
  12. Sounds like OEL is sold on VAN and ARI has their backs against the wall. I'm sure Benning's offer is fair, and that could be why ARI is balking. A player like OEL, they'll want to maximize their return. Problem for them is the same problem VAN faced years ago, he wants out and really wants to go to one place (VAN). BOS is probably his backup plan. I know it sounds arrogant, but I'm not sure it is. I think he genuinely wants to live here, not just play hockey. I wonder if ARI is waiting this out, trying to make things difficult for Benning, knowing he has a lot of other players to sign. Benning is under pressure to get that stuff done this week.
  13. Make America's Team Great Again Maybe they should start here first. Their D is awful.
  14. It's got to be a heck of a good deal for VAN, if they're taking on a 29 year old LD who makes $8.25 for the next 7 years (with a NMC) Isn't Benning speaking to the media on Monday? I wonder if VAN will have a new player by then for Benning to comment on
  15. ARI has the tough decision. Benning made his offer, knowing the Coyotes were against the wall, and I'm sure it wasn't very flattering. Or at least I hope it wasn't. maybe something like this will end up happening? to ARI - Eriksson (2 x $2.5), Sutter (1 x $4.375), Juolevi (1 x $863,333) and a 1st (2021) to VAN - OEL (7 x $8.25) (12% retained - $1) Sutter is done after this coming season, so that's $4.375 coming off the ARI cap next year. Juolevi and the 1st really help their rebuild. VAN pays OEL $7.25, and finally have Eriksson and Sutter off the books win/win
  16. I think ARI wants picks and prospects. Certainly a Dman to one day replace OEL. They've got some good young players and prospects now, and adding more, the Yotes could be quite good in the years ahead. Giving up picks I can handle, but it really depends which prospect(s) go the other way. I really hope VAN can keep Juolevi and Rathbone. It's a tough one, we might not have seen the best of OEL yet, and he's in that age range when players win/peak. He would add a lot to a D that already includes Hughes, Myers and Edler. But he's making $8.25 or 7 more years, and has a NMC. That means the Canucks will be stuck with him, for as long as he wants to be here. I find once Swedes join the team, they never want to leave. Look at Eriksson lol
  17. OEL has VAN at the top of his list, but the clock is ticking and Benning has a lot of other work to do, a lot more players to sign, including the team MVP. I wonder if OEL decides to expand his list, some other team will scoop him up. I wouldn't be upset if OEL went somewhere else, as his $8.25 salary over the next 7 years is concerning. But if he becomes a Canuck, then they'll probably be a better team and then who knows. Cup or bust. Ideally, VAN will be able to trade Eriksson and Sutter, and ARI will somehow retain some of OEL's salary. Draft picks are currency, and if VAN uses picks to make things work, where they're loading up to contend, so be it.
  18. It could also be the team he's always played on. Maybe we haven't seen the best of OEL yet.
  19. I agree, and luckily for Hughes, he's such a gifted skater, he mainly kept out of harm's way. Watching them getting hammered by Vegas' big forwards, they had a lot of trouble getting the puck out of their own end. Markstrom, when they re-sign him, needs to have better D in front of him.
  20. Would be kind of funny, with all of the speculation of OEL being traded here, I could imagine them suddenly announcing that VAN has traded for Ristolainen or someone else. I find that half the time (or more) these rumours don't pan out. Now, if VAN does trade for OEL, then this is exciting, because it's go-time to make a Cup run. If Benning brings in OEL, then he'll make other changes. They'll be all in.
  21. They're special, can't really compare them to anyone
