[Discussion] Prediction on 2020 Free Agency

Canucks will have to shed a lot of salary, but I'd like to see something like this: Miller - Pettersson - Boeser Dadonov - Horvat - Toffoli Motte - Janmark - Gaudette Martin - Clifford - MacEwen Lind Edler - Pietrangelo Dillon - Hughes Fantenberg - Myers Juolevi Out (somehow) - Pearson, Roussel, Sutter, Beagle, Virtanen, Eriksson, Leivo, Ferland, Tanev, Stecher, Benn -
Demko is calm, cool and collected, and educated, and mature. The list could go on. He's also younger and cheaper than Markstrom, and has proven he can win games under the greatest pressure on the biggest stage. He always look so completely relaxed too. Nothing phases him. They need to keep this guy. I really like Markstrom, but he's a very good goalie who could help another team. Maybe the Canucks get a nice return, or are able to package him with Eriksson or Roussel. The Core Hughes - 20 Pettersson - 21 Juolevi - 22 Gaudette - 23 Boeser - 23 Virtanen - 24 MacEwen - 24 Demko - 24 Horvat - 25 Markstrom - 30

I'm sure both teams were tired and playing banged up. No excuses. I think there were 2 things that occurred: 1. Vegas wanted it more 2. Vegas is just a better team The Canucks did really well in these playoffs, thanks to excellent goaltending. it was exciting. I think they need to keep both Marky and Demmer, but some players have to go: Pearson Toffoli Virtanen Beagle Sutter Eriksson

The score was 0-0 late in the 2nd. I think the Canucks had 6 shots on net at this point (disgusting for a Game 7) Motte was injured by Reaves on the play. The Canucks received a 5 minute PP, that would carry over to the 3rd. Canucks weren't able to score on the PP late in the 2nd (think they got 1 shot in over 3 minutes?), but had 90 seconds of PP time to start the 3rd. Now, you would think - Reaves' blatant headhunting on Motte, one of their playoff heroes IMO, and then Bo and his Canucks came out in the 3rd flat and lifeless, only managing 9 more shots in the entire period. How uninspired. Feeling disappointed in this team today. but I'm sure it'll pass after I forget the details. Maybe the Canucks just aren't good enough and Vegas is the much better team. Good try Canucks. Looking forward to next season, if there is one.

[Proposal][Chat] Markstrom or Demko or Both ?
Nucker 67 replied to AriGold2.0's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Keep em both, trade the rest of the team lol -
14 shots in a Game 7? Embarrassing and so frustrating to witness. This was another piss-poor effort by the Canucks. If it wasn't for their outstanding goaltending throughout this series, they would've lost this series in 4. Goaltenders can';t win it all by themselves. Canucks players should apologize to both their goalies today. They let them down. There were some bright spots, other than the goalies, like Quinn Hughes. He was really good. There are many changes Benning needs to make to this team. But they did better than everyone expected. So, good for them.

I suddenly got nervous as soon as DAL won, but not because we might have to play the Stars, but because getting knocked out sucks. I'm happy for Bowness, and hey, if the Canucks make it and play DAL, maybe they could have a Benn vs Benn story angle. But I also realize that COL is pretty devastated right now, and the run could be over just like that. I'm not ready to stop watching the Canucks play. It's helped me immensely through this COVID experience. They can do this. Play as a team, fight for each other. GCG!

I was pretty relaxed for most of the game, just figured what would happen would happen and just enjoyed it. But then once it got to the 3rd, and the Canucks were up by 2 and then 3, I noticed there was still plenty of time for Vegas to come back, and Demko was having to stand on his head. That's when I started yelling at the TV lol A 3 goal lead just didn't seem enough against the Knights. They shoot a lot, but Demko was amazing. I have a feeling Vegas is going to crash Demko's crease and try to get garbage goals. The Canucks are going to have to play excellent D tonight. Help Demmer out.

I'm sure this Canucks roster is pretty tight after this "bubble" experience. Seeing one of them announce the starting lineup before each game, them all laughing and having fun, the way they celebrate wins. It's unfortunate that some may not be back next season. It's been a bit of a magical run (so far). I almost forgot they had to beat MIN 3 games to even make the playoffs, and then once in, knocking off the defending champs. So, why not continue the magic? Get under Marchessault's skin, let him take bad penalties.
