  1. Some players raise their level of play in the playoffs. This is why I'm confused about Jake. These are his first NHL playoffs, and he has 1 goal in 11 games. Tyler Motte has 4. You would think Jake is made for the playoffs, but is he?
  2. I woke up, not in a foul mood because there were no games yesterday, and none today. I actually felt proud, to be a Canadian and to be a Canucks fan. It was the Canucks who reached out and got this conversation started. This is a great team we have, on and off the ice. I'm sure the Sedins are at home with their families, feeling good about it as well. For today, all of the players in the bubble will get along and work together, but tomorrow, the games will be back and it will be fierce competition again. Who knows, after getting to know some of the Canucks a little better, maybe Reaves will be less inclined to destroy them with crushing body checks lol GCG
  3. They keep stressing to have conversations with your family and talk about it, but I'm not really sure what to talk about. My wife and I are both the same, we like good, nice people, don't care what they look like. Have no use for the a-holes. So, what do we talk about? It's obvious what we see in the news and read in the paper isn't right. Is there more I should be doing? If so, what is it? Maybe these conversations we're supposed to have are geared more towards parents of younger kids and teens? In hopes that they grow up with an awareness and be the change?
  4. I've noticed this. The video of Chief Adam from Alberta - the cop was trying to stop him from getting in his truck, and then the Chief got upset and started rampaging a bit, and was then violently tackled. Puffing out your chest to a cop is probably a big no-no. The guy who was shot 7 times, he just ignored the police telling him to stop, and was going to drive off with kids in the backseat. Maybe the person filming that should've said "dude, just do what they say".
  5. Who are thee buffoons who think black lives don't matter?! Let's beat the racism out of them!! (aka: conversion therapy)
  6. Canucks play the right way. They have since the Sedins started to take over almost 20 years ago. I'm also proud of them for taking this stand, even though, unfortunately, I don't think it will change much, but they are setting a great example and joining the fight. Who knows, maybe they'll take on a few (thousand) more Canucks fans with this stance. We do have a great bunch of players on this team, high character. Good Karma will be with them the rest of the way.
  7. Everything will be better in 24 hours, right? Any idea when they're going to play Game 3? Well, we went months without sports, we can wait one day to get back at 'er. If this sit-out helps someone in any way, then I guess it's good. I would love to know how it would help though, or who this helps. Sports is a positive escape for a lot of people and brings people of all races together. Cancelling games means "they're" winning, whoever "they" are.
  8. I wonder if the elected U.S. leader will take a day off campaigning. Doubtful. I guess the positive side is that it gives Myers an extra day to heal.
  9. Don't forget Vegas gets the extra day of rest too. I guess this is just a sign of support, for the NBA players taking another stand, or kneel, I'm so confused. .
  10. Does Reaves want to play tonight? Maybe they're waiting to see what he does, then if he decides to sit, I assume the entire Vegas team will join him, and of course no game. They'd probably cancel the NYI-PHI game as well?
  11. All because of video of some shi**y unstable American cops shooting people of colour? Video is powerful. Where are the videos of cops senselessly shooting white people? Ah no one cares.
  12. Benning will have his work cut out for him after these playoffs. Who does he re-sign and who does he let go? I hope he keeps the players in blue. The others I'd be okay letting go, or signing & trading. UFAs - with last salaries (and new salaries) Toffoli - $4,600,000 ($5,500,000) Tanev - $4,450,000 ($5,500,000) Leivo - $1,500,000 Domingue - $1,150,000 ($1,500,000) Fantenberg - $850,000 ($1,250,000) Graovac - $700,000 RFAs - with last salaries (and new salaries) Stecher - $2,325,000 Virtanen - $1,250,000 Motte - $975,000 ($2,000,000) Gaudette - $916,666 ($1,250,000) MacEwen - $847,500 ($1,100,000) Chatfield - $765,000 ($850,000) Bailey - $700,000 ($800,000) Brisebois - $697,500 Sautner - $675,000
  13. I don't think he really likes the team, but he better or else he'll have to answer to Bieksa
  14. Got to wonder how this affects his mental state, with staying focused. For his own sake, I hope he avoids social media. Evil stuff. But I also hope DeBoring keeps him in while Fleury daydreams about playing for another team on the bench.
  15. Looks like one of the few ways Vegas can get a goal is if their D lobs one in the air and springs Tuch for the breakaway. D has to keep an eye on his cherry picking.
  16. I think as far as TOR is concerned, the playoffs are over. TOR and MTL are out. Now they can focus on the Raptors and Jays. shameful
  17. Markstrom is a reasonable Swede, unlike Nylander. Marky loves Vancouver and playing for the Canucks. He won't put his team in a position where they can't afford to be competitive. I'll bet he signs for no more than $6.
  18. Untouchables, IMO: Pettersson Horvat Boeser Miller Hughes Juolevi Markstrom Podkolzin Hoglander Focht Woo Rathbone
  19. Paid no attention to Reaves and he was a non-factor. I hardly noticed him. Well, there was one hit he took that dropped him, that was fun. Watching Whitecloud miss his hit on Beagle and fly into his own bench was fun too. lol The Canucks played a superb game, didn't get rattled by Vegas. they weren't intimidated. Skills were on display. Having Toffoli back changes the look of the team.
  20. All part of the plan: Game 1 - give Vegas a false sense of security Game 2 - come out fast and dominate Game 3 - see Game 2 Game 4 - see Game 2 Game 5 - see Game 2 Vegas is probably confused, and Lehner is angry at his D for hanging him out to dry.
