  1. I love Roussel, but he acted like a clown even before the game began. It seemed he was trying to do something to drag his team into the war every shift. On one play, after the whistle, there were a few players from both teams gathered about 10 feet in front of Markstrom and Roussel comes up behind a Knights player and headlocks him from behind. What is he doing?
  2. Well, after watching the game, I felt the Knights were just toying with the Canucks after a while. Scoring at will, cracking jokes about our players. Canucks need to come out next game with discipline, keep their yaps shut, and work hard as a team again. Get the Knights off their game, get them frustrated like they frustrated the Blues. I hope Green can make some changes, like getting MacEwen or Bailey out there. This is not a series for Loui Eriksson IMO.
  3. Oh I get it now! Reaves was just trying to cheer Rooster on by crowing like a rooster! It makes so much sense! Unfortunately for Reaves, he sucks at it.
  4. Have a feeling Roussel is going to come out next game looking like a neutered dog, after Green has a talkin' to him.
  5. Yeah, he is a dominant player, but I don't like him either. Maybe it's his arrogant smirk, and how he pals around with the refs, like he's an untouchable. He also plays to injure IMO. I love Roussel's passion, but I don't think he went about it the right way. Not a good idea to talk trash to the heavy favourites.
  6. So true. It would be so totally racist if Roussel made animal noises at Reaves, but it's fine if Reaves makes the noises. Something not quite right.
  7. Tuch's goal was impressive, he beat 3 Canucks to the puck, got on the breakaway and top shelf. When he first touched the puck, I said to my wife "speed kills" and then that happened. One of the commentators said something about Jake possibly being a guy who could play more like that, using his speed, and I kind of chuckled. If only. Vegas is bigger, faster, stronger, and they have better players. It'll be interesting to see Green's plan tomorrow night. I hope he has a doozy.
  8. Win the series?! Win a game?! How 'bout we score a goal?! Reminds me of Jim Mora I don't think Vegas is worried about waking Petey. He looked like a kid in over his head in Game 1. He's just not strong enough yet on his skates. Vegas is a big team. I do think this will be a huge moment for Petey though, in that it will motivate him to eventually become one of the best players in the world. Same with Hughes, huge learning experience. If Virtanen could become half the player Tuch is, he'd be doing just fine.
  9. I think they're beatable too, the Canucks have beaten them before. Seeing the Knights players laughing at the Canucks from the bench, Reaves having a field day, enjoying himself with the refs, making chicken noises, etc. Roussel looked like the only Canuck to show up and give his all. Was the rest of the team planning the parade after they beat STL? I sure hope they come out better next game, Game 1 was embarrassing, as Canada's last team.
  10. Hate to burst the Canucks bubble, but the Blues that showed up to this tournament weren't the same SC champions that won last year. Probably wasn't even the same regular season team that played. STL just wasn't into it. Great confidence boost for the young Canucks, but now they're facing the real test. A team who wants to win, and is strong at all positions.
  11. I can't see Reaves hoist that Cup. I just can't. That big dumb goofy look on his face, arrrg. He looks like someone who bullied all of the weaker kids in school when he was young, and took great joy in it.
  12. Boycotting Tim Horton's. They're promoting those mini sticks, they have 6: Crosby - Canadian McDavid - Canadian Marner - Canadian MacKinnon - Canadian Price - Canadian Ovechkin - Russian ??? WTF? I thought Tim Horton's were a very Canadian company, maybe more Canadian than any other company. I guess not though. VAN is the last Canadian team in the playoffs and it would've been real nice if they had a Horvat mini stick. Even Giordano and Wheeler. Why not have all of the captains for the Canadian teams? Why a Russian player on an American team, Timmy?
  13. Kinda blows my mind to think that there are only 8 teams left fighting for the Cup, and the Canucks are one of them. I may need extra strong medication of it's a VAN vs BOS final again.
  14. A lot of expectations and pressure for the Golden Knights, being the favourites. Lehner is going to have to be lights out to stop the Canucks. And then if Fleury has to eventually go in, after the Canucks destroy Lehner's confidence, is Fleury's compete level going to be at its highest? Especially after how he's been disrespected by DeBoer. This could be good.
  15. Agree, last series not many gave the Canucks a chance, because of big bad O'Reilly, playoff pest Perron, that hyped D, and their saviour Binnington. The Canucks dismantled these former champs like a piece of cheap IKEA furniture. There was a wall (our D game) in front of our Wall (Markstrom), they didn;t give the Blues much. And the Canucks are also getting scoring throughout the lineup. Sutter got 3 assists last game, yet no one talks about that. Motte is a playoff beast. Roussel's passion is infectious. Bo's playing with speed and desire. People are finding out quick that Hughes is already the best offensive Dman in the league. Markstrom is a revelation and if you have great goaltending, you can go all the way.
  16. Getting Myers and Toffoli later in the series could be the boost they need. Added to that, the goaltending controversy in Vegas, and a possible rift in that room. I wonder if the Canucks will see Fleury.
  17. Benning came in when the Canucks were aging, and gutted from their 2011 defeat. Luongo, Kesler, Burrows and Bieksa left. There were no prospects. In 6 years, and with the Sedins retiring, he's restocked the prospect pool, made some very key trades, and turned this team into a contender IMO. He's drafted 3 Calder candidates in a row. Not just Good, he's a Great GM
  18. It must be a bit of a nightmare for MacLean. Bieksa is owning him with comments in every segment, and now virtually punching him etc. lol Watching Cassie, Kelly and Elliott laughing and almost cringing, at the funny things Bieksa says. It's great TV, Bieksa is a gem. Proud he is a Canuck. My guess is MacLean's days are numbered on HNIC. I see him leaving, or nudged out by Bieksa. Well done Juice.
  19. They could sure use Toffoli in the Top 6, move Eriksson down, sit Gaudette - for now. I'm surprised how well the Canucks have played without Ferland, Myers and Toffoli. Getting Myers and Toffoli back would sure help against Vegas. I have no idea what Myers' status is though.
