  1. Ah, now I get it. The Canucks PP is soooooo deadly, that the refs don't feel it's fair to give us too many of those. Otherwise the Canucks would destroy the Blues and that's just bad for the NHL.
  2. Is it just me or are BOS and STL very similar teams? They both play dirty (Perron is like Marchand) and get away with blatant offences, never seem to get many calls against them. It's almost as if the refs are instructed to give these teams the edge. Considering how many bad penalties they handed out to Myers, it's a complete joke that there was no penalty called on the play that put him out.
  3. Rask is a bad team mate, probably a good dad though. Bruins better hope Halak doesn't get hurt.
  4. I'm hoping they start Binnington again for Game 3, but it sounds like they might make a goaltending change and put Allen in. If the Blues rally around him, the Canucks might face their toughest test yet next game. Don't let the Blues back in the series, keep the foot on the pedal.
  5. I'm one of those that believes Jake should be better than he is, but I haven't watched him closely, like yourself, so I appreciate your views. Jake started the game great with that monster hit, going just off camera. But then he also took a bad penalty with getting angry and slashing. Refs are calling everything on the Canucks, so they have to be disciplined with their sticks. I'm hoping Jake uses his speed and grit more. Play like Bo. He has it in him, but maybe he lacks confidence.
  6. The NBA must think its players are stupid or something lol I notice that the big panel of people on the right, is the same big panel of people on the left lol
  7. How long before the Blues complain that these don't feel like playoffs without the fans? Canucks are for real.
  8. So I hear the Canucks drafted this Virtanen kid. Big, gritty, good shot, really fast. I hear he could be a real playoff type player. Awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing him play one day. What?!! He's in the lineup now? Weird.
  9. Oh yeah, you can bet Berube will instruct his team to target Hughes and Petey. No doubt, I actually worry for them in this game. Perron is a puke who will cross the line. Canucks need that first goal and to continue to frustrate the Blues into taking bad penalties. The Canucks PP shall prevail. GCG!
  10. I was probably around 5 or 6, and then joined the local community centre hockey team at age 8. Played until 14. Great memories. Sports are really important for kids growing up.
  11. This is true. If Jake was picked in the 2nd or 3rd round, nothing would seem out of place. But Jake was picked 6th overall, out of everyone, like there were only 5 guys better. I don't think it was necessarily a bad pick for Benning, but more that Jake hasn't lived up to his end of the bargain. He could be a top player if he really applied himself, but instead has difficulty keeping a spot in the lineup. I like Jake, I have his jersey. I know he can do better.
  12. No idea what Flames fans are thinking. Bennett and Jake are similar IMO, in that they both under perform. Mind you, at least Bennett is contributing during these playoffs for CGY.
  13. Virtanen - #6 Hansen - #287 Surely, you can understand we have higher expectations for Jake
  14. For some young players, like Juolevi for example, not being noticed all game is a good thing. It means he's quietly doing his job, not making any glaring mistakes, gettin' it done without any flash. In Jake's case though, not being noticed is a bad thing. He's invisible when he's out there, when he's given some ice time. For crying out loud Jake, at least pretend you're into it.
  15. That was the Bo we needed. Kind of hate Perron, after watching him take liberties with Hughes. He mugged Pettersson as well. What a punk. Hoping Roussel gets in his face, or maybe goes after Schwartz. Canucks were frustrating the Blues. I hope they start Binnington again. Pettersson scoring that beauty crushed his soul lol
  16. It's certainly an elite group, but Hughes is super special and I think he';ll join that club one day. Interesting during the break, I watched a bit of the old games from the 70s and 80s and it was kind of funny. The players didn't have a lot of skill (skating, hands, etc). It was pretty sloppy hockey and the refs hardly called anything. IMO though, I think the goaltending is better today than it was back then. The actual skilled players like Lafleur and Gretzky flourished. In today's NHL, every player has skill. I'd like to see Pettersson and Boeser firing pucks at little Grant Fuhr. See how good he is lol
  17. 3 unproven prospects for an established #1 NHL All-Star Dman? I don't think any GM would do this. Well, maybe Dorion would.
  18. Why not? He's like a forward (or a rover), possesses the puck more than pretty much anyone. How good will he be in 5 years?
  19. Thanks for the video, really great. Made my eyes water a little at the end lol Feeling emotional about these playoffs. It's been years, this is a new team with great young talent and some awesome vets. Seeing Hughes and Pettersson, so happy to win, sharing in the celebration afterwards. Gaining such incredible experience. This group is tight. Can't wait for the game tonight.
