Is the season a success no matter what else happens?
Nucker 67 replied to JM_'s topic in Canucks Talk
The intensity of Myers, Roussel, and Miller The huge smiles on the faces of Pettersson, Hughes and Boeser after winning Seeing the Canucks celebrate in the locker room after knocking off MIN gave me the warm and fuzzies. This team is close, they're in it for each other. -
What will the NHL do for the 2020/21 season? I can't imagine anything being anywhere near normal by late fall. And the NHL and players will want a season. Do each of the divisions have their own bubbles (4 bubbles) and they play only divisional teams all season? I'm not sure how that would work. The players would be away form their families for months. And then playoffs? Hmm

This will be a playoff team for the next several years, the fun is just beginning. Sure, they lost the 1st this year, but we got Miller in return and he's a big reason they are here. Great trade, and then in 2021 we'll have a 1st again. I'm really not sure if they should re-sign Toffoli now. Seeing how well they play without him, they're 3-0 in the playoffs with him not in the lineup. Love that Juolevi's game is rounding out and he's a part of this team bubble, getting some ice time. Huge for his experience. He'll make the team next year. He's a good skater, big, dependable and cheap. We have no idea how far they'll go, they've never had a Hughes. He's remarkable. I think it will depend on how solid Markstrom is. -
Henrik - Pettersson Daniel - Boeser Kesler - Miller Samuelsson - Pearson Burrows - Roussel Raymond - Toffoli Higgins - Sutter Lapierre - Motte Torres - Horvat Hansen - Virtanen Ehrhoff - Hughes Hamhuis - Tanev Bieksa - Myers Salo - Myers Edler - Edler Tanev - Juolevi / Fantenberg Luongo - Markstrom I put Myers as a combo of Bieksa and Salo, because he has a boom of a shot and he provides a lot of physicality. Not listed: 2011 - Glass, Tambellini, Oreksovich, Rome and Ballard, etc. Kinda meh. 2020 - Beagle, MacEwen, Gaudette, Eriksson and Stecher. Better.

I want to see STL and CGY beat up each other over a 7-game series.

Such an awesome video, Miller calling the starting lineup. I really get the sense that the guys are all on the same page, a real team, us against them. Miller is such a great veteran player and team mate, So intense, they need guys like that. Looks like they're having a blast in that video, and they never even won the series yet. Big smiles on Myers and Huggy. If Markstrom can still play his best hockey, I really like their chances. Something special about this team.

The number of penalties were ridiculous last game, with 7 for each team. At least it was fair, but the refs need to put their new toys (electronic whistles) away. These are the playoffs! I love that the Canucks have pushback. Roussel and Motte, Myers has got that angry look in his eye, Sutter and Eriksson even playing gritty, tough games. MacEwen now in the lineup. I do wish, though, that Jake would just relax and play the game we know he can play. He looks tentative at times, and it's unfair that every time he makes a mistake it's amplified. I would love for him to have a big game.

I hear ya, I just looked at the rest of the Qualifying series remaining and we're down to 4, including the Canucks. Got that feeling in my stomach like I was just cresting the peak of a roller coaster. Sudden panic lol Not sure why, the Canucks are in a good spot. I'm sure they want to close this out and move on. They have to be the aggressor tonight. Attack!

MIN is going to do what they have to do to stay in the series. I hope the Canucks dispose of them tonight, enough of Hartman, Greenway and Fiala. The Canucks NEED the first goal. They got the first one in the last two games and won both. If they have to chase the game and try to catch up to the Wild, then it could be trouble. The Wild D can shut it down when they need to. Start fast and aggressive, get that first goal, and then get MIN frustrated. Go Canucks Go!

No problem for me if Myers takes a penalty roughing someone up. It might appear undisciplined, but he's setting the tone. I am a wall, you can't cross here (punch to the face). MIN is banged up a little bit, Canucks are playing them very physical. MIN's backs are against the wall, they're having to rely on Fiala a whole bunch to provide all of the offense. Stalock had huge confidence after Game 1, but after getting steamrolled by Eriksson and letting in 3, got to imagine his confidence is now a little rattled. Someone joked after the Canucks lost Game 1 (shut out) that the Canucks have the Wild right where they want them. Well, they do now!

I have no issues rolling with this lineup moving forward. They played very good D, they were physical, the Canucks seem to be finding their groove, maybe even a little swagger? They look a lot better than Game 1, which is encouraging. Even with the injuries, this team is good. I wondered at first "where's Pettersson?", he a pretty invisible early, but he came alive as the game went on. Hughes is a phenom, we're so lucky to have him. Really happy for Roussel and Markstrom. Great win.

I think we were hoping for the 2015 version of Micheal Ferland, but ended up getting a broken player who refused to play any other way. He is a warrior for trying, but he's got a young family and needs to take care of himself and them now. The Canucks never really had the 2015 Ferland. We had the idea of him. He only played 15 games for the Canucks (1 goal), but he was always in our back pocket. The nasty Ferland who terrorized us a few years ago would one day emerge as a savior to toughen us tenfold. But that was just a mirage. We hardly had Ferland at all. It's really too bad. I wish him well, thank you for trying Micheal.

That concerns me, about Petey. He's such a competitor and isn't afraid of anyone. He'll battle, but MIN is now playing angry after losing last game and Pettersson hurting Hartman. I feel this could get a bit dirty. There was some serious chirping at the end of last game. Beagle and Staal could go at it. The veterans (Sutter, Eriksson, Beagle, Edler, Tanev) are going to have to step up.
