  1. I'd be happy with: Horvat to DET for Hronek, Rasmussen and 1st (2024) - DET won't want to give up their 1st this year then, Schenn to TB for Foote Rasmussento C the 3rd line Hughes - Hronek OEL - Bear Dermott - Myers Stillman - Foote (will step in after they trade/buyout Myers)
  2. Contenders would give up their 1st to add Bo, because they're out on the Bedard lottery anyway. Horvat could be the piece that wins them a Cup.
  3. Just going out on a limb here, but last game I watched Miller, and he came close a few times to scoring. But every time he failed, he looked up at the sky, got pissed off. One game (last one or the one before), Miller slammed his stick on the boards after going to the bench. The guy is a hothead. Tocchet has a lot of work to do with the team as he said, but is JT too much of a project? Right now they're assessing players and the team, and I wonder if he's looking at Miller going "Geez, I don't know, this is just how he is I guess, always has been resally, which is possibly a reason the NYR traded him several years ago."
  4. I hope so, this team needs a major shakeup. The thought of a possible 7-8 more years of Miller and Horvat struggling to get this team into the playoffs is depressing.
  5. Could be a similar situation as with Miller. What could've been, the haul he could've gotten at last year's TDL or Draft. Same thing with Horvat now, might imagine what VAN could've gotten for him. Now, they could be stuck with two veteran players, long term, who may have just had their career years. What happened to 26 years old and younger?
  6. I kind of hope Horvat declines. This team needs a real shake up, not another tweak here and there. If they re-sign Bo, well then I expect the same old stale, struggling to make the playoffs team for the next decade.
  7. Yeah, I'm dreading something happening, because...Canucks luck I have a feeling it could be a really long week, with no hockey or trades
  8. It'll be interesting to see how the Canucks players respond to the "soft" comments. Keep your head up lil Johnny...or don't
  9. Joshua comes to mind when I read this. Tocchet seems like the kind of coach who will reward (with ice time or assignments) those who give effort and play the way he wants. I'd like to see Studnicka and Lazar take another step in their effectiveness and production.
  10. Maybe JR is on the phone: "How would you like two players at the All-Star weekend?" Canucks would still have Pettersson there I hope they do something today
  11. Geez, I totally forgot about Hodgson This organization has had some really bad luck with prospects. Biggest hit might've been losing Bourdon in 2008 It would be nice if JR did make a couple of trades and brought in some young players just out of their ELC, who could excel under Tocchet. Try to make up for Virtanen, Juolevi, Lind, Woo, Hodgson, etc.
  12. The lottery will decide who gets Bedard. Sure, the Canucks chances improve ever so slightly the closer they are to the bottom. Doesn't guarantee anything. But saying that, the Canucks do need a top prospect out of this Draft. Trade Horvat, Boeser, Garland at the TDL. Trade Myers in the off season (after his bonus is paid). Rathbone and Hoglander are also expendable. Re-sign Schenn - they need his toughness and pushback, especially if they're bringing in younger players, and he loves it in VAN. PAIRS Kuzmenko - Pettersson - ? ? - Miller - Mikheyev Joshua - ? - Podkolzin Studnicka - Lazar - ? Hughes - ? OEL - Bear Dermott - Schenn Demko ?
  13. Unreal, but ARI, ANA and CHI all won last night. Good for the Canucks. Bench Horvat, start Martin. Go Canucks Go.
  14. Yeah, but because JR won't let any other teams talk to his agent, it makes me think they're going to work something out. Still over a month until the TDL, so there is time to switch gears (let other teams negotiate). The Canucks core is not good. They can't stick with these same guys moving forward and expecting a better result. That would be insane.
  15. IMO, there's no way Horvat comes back if he's traded. He feels he deserves more money than the Canucks are willing to offer. Bad feelings. BUT, I just think they get something done and that will be that. Same stale core, same results moving forward. I hope they trade Bo, Canucks need to try something different. I'll be disappointed if they announce a Horvat re-signing.
  16. Kuzmenko at $5.5 will produce like a $8 player. What's not to like about that? Canucks will still get a really good return for him in two years at the 2025 TDL. Maybe much more than now.
  17. What I don't really get is JR said "we believe we have given it our best shot" to re-sign Bo. Is the ball in Bo's court? Is he stalling to make a decision? Maybe JR needs to give Bo a deadline, and then bench him until he decides. Or, is JR going to take another run at a contract with Bo? And if so, didn't they already give it their best shot?
  18. The Canucks can still trade Kuzmenko if they want, in a year or whatever. Or they can re-sign him if he's scoring 30+ goals a season. I like the timing of this signing as well. It puts pressure on the Horvat camp to make a decision. Kuzmenko left money on the table IMO. The Canucks may be able to re-sign Bo, if he accepts $7, for example. Heard that tomorrow could be Bo's last game at home as a Canuck.
  19. RUTERFORD = mistake (spelling)
  20. Pettersson's contract comes to and end (RFA) when Kuzmenko has one year left. Possibly to entice Petey to re-sign? Looks like those two have very good chemistry, they're both having a great year.
  21. He shoots, he scores! Great signing by JR/PA, and nicely under $6. Take note Bo.
  22. Looks like you took a lot of bites to prepare this useless observation. Haters gonna hate.
