  1. This move is so insignificant that the Devils’ social media team couldn’t even bothered to get his position right
  2. Or coaching for not challenging the spot of the ball on that late reception by Jamar Chase down by the goal line? That was probably a touchdown. Then again, it’s very possible they could’ve blown that PAT too.
  3. What a finish in the Bengals/Steelers game.
  4. Hey Coffey made a pretty great defensive play on that ‘87 Canada Cup goal That being said, I still don’t feel great using that era of the Oilers as an example of how we can win with our underwhelming blue line. They could’ve never won a cup and that roster still would’ve produced at least 3 HOF’ers. We don’t have that.
  5. Yeah who among us hasn’t forced themselves upon a woman despite their verbal wishes against it?
  6. I could be wrong but didn’t they have Petey and Makar as their 1 and 2?
  7. I think it’s fine to double up on pitch selection and location in the right situation, which doesn’t appear to be the case here. Can’t say I was watching the game myself. If Cimber was trying to double up on the pitch after the huge foul ball he should’ve been careful to get it a little lower, a little more outside, etc.
  8. I can’t pretend to know the plan of attack between Cimber and his catchers but doubling up can work in a reverse psychology kind of way. If I was the hitter I’d probably be thinking “I hit that thing a mile, they must be going with something different on this next one”.
  9. Only watched the second and third periods but I thought Jurmo made some good plays. His skating, size, and puck skills make him look like an NHL player. Let’s hope they can coach up some of these mental mistakes he’s known for making. Maybe we can get an NHL’er out of him.
  10. With Petey having gone bald, I figure OEL and Hogs are our best shot at that now.
  11. I gotta admit I got pretty excited by the idea of it when I read the first post suggesting it. I’d do an offer sheet on Dobson that pays 4 first rounders anyway. We just don’t have the space and don’t think management would do it even if we did.
  12. By the lesser of number of years offered or 5 years- so in the case of a 6 or 7 year offer, 5 would be less. I think you may be reading it as the lesser AAV between the two scenarios?
  13. The AAV for compensation on an offer sheet is calculated on a maximum of a five year team, even on a 6 or 7 year deal. I think the proposal was a total of $58Million over 7 years? That would make it $11.3 AAV in terms of compensation.
  14. If I’m not mistaken, these picks aren’t traded. It’s an additional pick added to the draft and awarded to a team rather than a draft pick being traded from one team to another.
  15. In a (flat) salary cap league, it’s really tough to justify paying a guy this much money because he can listen to the fellas talk about girl problems.
  16. Just saw the Padres added Josh Hader last night too. They’re looking pretty loaded now.
  17. I’m not familiar with the other names, but Mackenzie Gore is a pretty good get for the Nats. He’s slipped a bit but was once one of the best prospects in all of baseball (maybe even the top pitching prospect?) and he’s still only 23.
  18. Sure, but Bo wins face offs at a similar clip to Manny while putting up counting stats that MM could never sniff.
  19. Sure, but the original statement was that Bo had “only a little more” offensive ability than Manny Malhotra- a guy who never scored 15 goals in a single season. It’s a scorching hot take.
  20. I can’t assign a whole lot of credibility to somebody who says Bo has only “a little bit more” offensive ability than Manny Malhotra. Bo’s 31 goals in 70 games this past year nearly matches Manny’s career high in points.
  21. Sadly, it seems we might need an audit of the adults involved too. What good is adult supervision if the adult in question is an a-hole too?
  22. I’ve always thought that was the best Boeser has looked and I think a big part of it is that Bo drives the net and Boeser is good at reading the play, finding those dead spots. He’s good at predicting where the puck might pip out after a net drive or where the soft spots in coverage are. Then he can utilize his shot. and I say this as somebody who’s as big of a critic as anybody not named @EddieVedder, but I really think this is a strength of Brock’s game. He’s good at reading the play and finding those spots, but doesn’t have the foot speed to get there himself. He needs other people to create those spaces for him.
