I don't think the Canucks are really in a position to do that though. If they had a more stocked prospect cupboard or more "disposable income" in terms of roster players to deal, then yeah maybe take that risk. Right now the prospect cupboard is good, but not great, and Tanev is arguably the greatest trade chip on the roster. If you're going to move him it has to be something that you can almost guarantee will help the organization, preferably now and in the future.
