  1. Looking at him now it's hard to believe he was drafted/ranked as high as he was and was the focal point of a trade for prime Cliff Lee.
  2. I could 100% get behind a Sonny Gray trade, bad year or not.
  3. Good point. The fact his contract is up may change things. He's a valuable bat, and left handed too.
  4. I think it's basically down to Goins and Barney if they're going to trade anybody.
  5. I can't say I know a ton about AHL hockey but looking at some of the signings JB made this past week, is it fair to say the Comets look to be very good next year?
  6. I was a little apprehensive towards it given his history of average/mediocre performance but I saw he credited his performance with Pittsburgh last year to mechanical changes, not just a hot streak, so I was willing to wait it out and see before making a decision. He's certainly been worth the money so far. I find it kind of funny that the Jays traded him to Seattle for Saunders because Saunders fell out of favor with management, only to trade him that season...and then he signs with the Jays the following off-season. It came full-circle, in a way.
  7. Likewise. He's been one of my favourite players since he broke into the league and I never thought he'd be a Jay. I was actually more excited when they acquired him than I was about the Price trade, even though the Price deal was bigger for the team at the time. Tulo is a treat to watch when he's on his game- a huge 180 from Reyes.
  8. To me the dream job would be a bullpen catcher, st least while you're young and the knees can handle it. Get to travel and live the life, hang out around major league ballparks and see games right up close (pretty much "in" the game), get per diems like the players and whatnot- all while making a pretty healthy salary.
  9. Friend showed it to me years back and I was reminded of the with bench press video posted above. It's hard to tell if the guy is serious or if he's risking his health/ability to walk for the sake of humour. and thanks! It was a sad day today seeing desi go. Probably the second biggest legend on these boards behind VC
  10. Anybody ever seen diesel weasel?
  11. My thoughts exactly. Typically you'd expect a fair amount of production from the first base position, but in a lineup like the Jays I don't think it's such an issue. JD, JB, EE, Saunders, and now Tulo provide plenty of punch. Smoak still provided 18 HR's and 59 RBI last year in only 328 PA's/296 AB's- pretty solid production anyway. I like having Smoak at first with the Jays current lineup.
  12. Is there any need for CC at this point? Assuming they have a normal, healthy roster. Dominguez can be a serviceable bench guy if the situation ever arose anyway.
  13. I'd be nervous about dealing smoak in favour of collabello. CC really seemed to struggle this year before the suspension, as did most of the team early on. It could be a slow start or it could be that last year was an anomaly. Personally I expect to see a serious regression/return to the norm from him compared to last year. He's pretty average/below average defensively too, something Smoak is very good at. I'm not sure when CC will be back from suspension but I can't imagine it'll be enough time to get back to the bigs and work out the kinks (if in fact there are kinks and what we saw earlier this year was just a slump) for the team to make an educated decision going into the non-waiver trade deadline.
  14. It should allow you to lift more, I think because it "reloads" your hips at the bottom. Definitely helps with the ego lol
  15. Not the worst thing you could've done. I see a few guys at the gym do box squats exclusively and think they're some sort of Demi-God cause they can box squat 315 for a triple. As if
  16. I felt like an idiot condensing 9 words into two consecutive acronyms like that.
  17. Shink and his Amish beard can GTFO, AFAIC
  18. Don't sell Boeser short, that flow is top notch. Easily the best in the organization with Granlund and Markstrom not far behind.
  19. Shush. Just saying- between him, Bo, and Virtanen the Canucks are going to have some big, athletic boys in a few years time.
  20. Starting to sound a little homosexually obsessed but that's a pretty impressive physique at 19.
  21. I just find it frustrating. I'm not a huge basketball fan but I do follow along so this kind of kills my interest. I want to see the Raptors succeed but there's just no way they can compete with the Warriors, Cavs, and the Spurs. I can't think of another team that has a legitimate shot at contending outside of those 3.
  22. Seems almost pointless to follow the NBA until the Conference Finals now.
  23. I think it was more because they fell behind 2-0 so they'd rather just put him on than run the risk of laying one right over the heart of the plate, IIRC. also...tulo is back and it's awesome to see. Jumped all over that pitch.
