Well every hitting coach talks about hip hinge, spinal angle, etc etc now. It’s pretty common vernacular in modern baseball and any hitting coach worth their weight in salt would understand the concepts. I followed a guy on Instagram for a while (Ryan Fuller I believe is the name) who was a JuCo dropout and landed himself a job as a hitting coach in the Orioles system. That man explained these concepts better than any other hitting coach I’ve come across online or in person, to the point that even a simpleton like me can fire up the iPad with an app like Rapsodo and work with the kids I’m coaching on these concepts. I don’t think it takes a Kin degree to be a hitting coach and I’m not sure it adds much value to the job. In her case though, I think any credibility she can add to her resume will only help to silence some of those idiots. I just don’t think it does anything to separate her from her competitors. -

I don't think the Kin degree means much to her as a hitting coach, it just seems like a weak cover for the real reason they're upset- she's a woman. -

Would you be saying the same thing if it were a Canuck? I have absolutely zero issue with Draisatl’s response. I think he could’ve gone even further and still wouldn’t have been out of line. -

No comment isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement of his teammates. He made the appropriate response. You’ve been quick to criticize Vancouver media (and rightfully so in many instances) but here you are carrying water for this loser- a far bigger scumbag than any media members in our own market. -

Vehemently disagree. Matheson is a loser and undeserving of his media pass. He was trying to goad Drai into throwing a teammate under the bus and Drai refused- would Drai have shown better leadership by saying the 22 year old rookie Skinner cost them the game? -

Like Matheson setting up an organizational depth guy to get his face caved in by the game’s top heavyweight by spreading lies for his own entertainment? -
This is what I’ll be curious to see. Somebody will offer him multiple years in order to make their offer stand out, but who’s it gonna be? Even if we’re hearing there’s been numerous teams interested in his services, I can’t imagine many GM’s will be happy to give him term. I think we’ve seen enough from him by now to know that he can help you win some hockey games, but wearing out his welcome in your locker room is an inevitability.

If I were the Oilers I’d pull his media pass. HOF be damned. It’s easy to be a journalist when you’re covering one of the greatest dynasties the sport has ever seen. -

It seemed like he was pushing for Leon to throw somebody under the bus- goaltending, coaching, whatever. He asked him three times what specifically needs to improve. Leon wasn’t biting, just like any decent teammate wouldn’t. What did Matheson expect here? I think history has shown us that you almost never win a trade that involves trading away a player of Draisatl’s caliber. -
It’s not an easy endeavour as most independent gyms struggle to compete with the big chains unless they found something to separate themselves. In your case, I think you’re in a more remote location that likely doesn’t have a ton of big chain gyms?

Sounds like a business opportunity for you Bish

Average margin of victory this weekend was 17 points, or 3 scores, and that’s with the Bengals and 9ers slimmer margins bringing the average down. Last year’s average was an 8 point margin and the year before (pre expansion) was 6. I understand the NFL’s motivation to expand but if it’s going to be like this every year maybe they should reconsider. Nobody wants to watch a bunch of blowouts. The Pats, Steelers, snd Cards didn’t look like they belonged on the same field as their opponents, and I’d argue Philly too.

So why can't they operate in limited capacity, with mask mandates, enhanced cleaning protocols, etc?? And again, rather than saying "surely gyms are covid hotspots because people are breathing heavy" why can't we just see some dam stats? If the province can show us numbers indicating gyms are truly a greater risk then so be it. I'll support any and all governmental measures that make sense, I just want to be shown why. It reminds me a little of the PHO closing restaurants down at 8PM on NYE last year- who was the moron making a couple hundred thousand in taxpayer $'s per annum that actually thought that was an effective measure. People went to private residences, partied, and spread COVID all the same while the restaurants and their staff drew the short straw on one of their biggest revenue generators of the year. Fire that person. Yep, they really lost the plot on this one. Protesting in a food court was stupid enough, but at least if they'd done it with masks, distancing, etc they might've got some sympathy.

So why can't the province share data on that? I'm a member at 3 gyms (Langley, Surrey, and Delta) and not one of them has reported any outbreaks throughout the pandemic (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they have to publicly report an outbreak of 3+ cases?). I'm not one of these nuts at the food court in Metrotown, far from it, but surely they could at least provide us with the data driving the restrictions. Generally speaking, most people will support restrictions/provisions if they see the reasoning behind them and the benefits to come. This one misses the mark imo I remember this case from a gym in Surrey, but there's nothing we can do about this. A-holes will be a-holes. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-surrey-gym-covid-outbreak-1.5802205

Hold on as long as you can brother.

Did they talk about long term implications of that? It's crazy how injury, inflammation, tightness, etc can affect other parts of the body, even parts that you'd think are entirely unrelated.
-
I saw that floating around social media tonight. I'll be curious to see the province's response. I saw this one the other day too and was surprised it hadn't been posted in here (unless I just missed it). https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/workout-protest-maskless-metrotown-mall A group of demonstrators clad in exercise gear gathered at a Metro Vancouver mall on Saturday for a high-intensity workout protesting the closure of gyms in BC due to Omicron. I'll be as happy as anybody to see gyms re-open, but do these morons not see the irony? They're protesting to say gyms are essential spaces by working out...in a food court?

I was going to say, you must not be able to generate much power with that hip? I've had strains of my rec fem and it can be a pretty annoying injury. I would've thought a torn rec fem would be more painful day to day.
-
How’s that one feel getting around day to day? Sounds unpleasant to say the least.

I get what he’s saying, and I think most people who watch them would agree. Players are in the lane but not actually committed to blocking a shot, they’re standing there simply because they know they’re supposed to. Kinda sounds like players not buying in, no? Or in other words- a coach who’s lost the room. -
I can’t recall a year with so many a** whoopin’s in the wildcard round. Must be the new system.
