  1. Lol top to bottom best lineup? Their offence is anemic. They win with outstanding pitching. The jays lineup is significantly better
  2. That's what makes baseball baseball though. For me personally I don't really like the new challenges to review calls. You deal with the bad calls, sometimes they go your way and sometimes they don't but it evens out over the course of a season. I'm not a purist in the sense that I don't like the safety netting in the seats, that's just ridiculous, but I do like the old school ways of baseball.
  3. As I said in an earlier post, I think there's a few things that give the Jays a strong case to re-sign him. However, I'd also like to see them use him like the Brewers used CC Sabathia. If he's willing to, pitch the sh?t out of him. Use him on short rest. He's far and away the best arm you have and your best change of playing in October. The problem I can see with that is Price agreeing to do it. CC, while a good pitcher, wasn't as sought after as Price is so doing what he did there in 2008 really helped drive up his value on the FA market (not to mention it was fun to watch).
  4. I was hoping you'd come back with a solid HIMYM gif and you didn't disappoint at all.
  5. haha this is what I thought too, it was getting a little annoying. Then I realized that every time the camera went on the dugout I was finding myself looking for Price, trying to check out his facial expressions and whatnot.
  6. Was the deadline sometime today? I thought you could make non waiver trades until august 1
  7. With Lowe acquired, how do y'all feel about EE now? I'd say if you can trade him for a serviceable/quality arm, do it. Can't have too much pitching.
  8. In my humble opinion I think if they're gonna get more pitching it'll likely be from a team that needs a bat. I.e: Edwin is gone. I wouldn't bet that price re-signs but with the lineup the jays have assembled, Stroman being healthy as well as him+Sanchez one year further developed, and the budget the team is likely to have available...I would think there's a reasonable chance that management gets it done. My morning work poop got a hell of a lot better upon reading about the trade.
  9. Benning needed to do whatever was necessary to have sven come to camp on a PTO and REALLY earn his spot.
  10. It was simply wishful thinking. A "dream" scenario that would see Virt get some nhl time without losing any current roster players to trade, waivers, etc
  11. Well he's made 2 starts in AA and only allowed 2 runs so he's not doing too bad
  12. Mlb.com has Hoffman going. I love Tulo but would've rather seen our top prospects spent on pitching
  13. http://www.spotrac.com/mlb/colorado-rockies/troy-tulowitzki/ Better than Reyes'
  14. There's gotta be at least one reasonably valuable prospect going
  15. Definitely an upgrade. Tulo is a hell of a player but where's rhe pitching?! The lineup looks scary tho
  16. Hypothetically here, wouldn't it be kinda perfect if someone was put on the IR/LTIR during preseason to make room for Virtanen? That's if he's looking good of course. Similar to our cap flexibility with Salo being injured a few years ago. Hypothetically speaking...a player, we'll say Chris Higgins, suffers a strain of his supraspinatus playing table tennis and he's out until sometime in November/December. Jake comes up, plays 9 games, and looks either good enough to stick or the team sends him back to junior and he plays in the WJC. Perfect.
  17. Finnegan's a pretty good looking prospect but he could go Drabek on them. Has some history of minor arm problems. Throws with max or near max effort every pitch and doesn't have the big strong body to support that (like Felix, Doc, etc). Doing this for years could do horrible things to his arm.
  18. Horvat is that Little House on the Prairie in your avatar/sig? agreed
  19. Exactly. Good pitching is gonna beat good hitting almost every time. The offence will come over the weekend.
  20. I wouldn't worry too much. There's always rumors of the Jays looking to bring in big names and it never happens.
  21. I'm going with Doc. The rest were before my time, though I did see a bit of Delgado when I was younger. Halladay in his prime was simply amazing. The numbers he put up playing for a bad team were beyond impressive, not to mention he was an absolute horse and could eat innings like nobody's business.
  22. Just heard on SN that the Jays are now 10-20 in one run games...is anybody else terribly disappointed by that? And I hate to say it but I didn't watch last night's game. Just highlights. Did they really score their only run in the 9th off a walk? To be fair though, I generally like Navarro's at bats.
  23. Ricky was flirting with ace status before things fell apart. At least a great #3, good #2. I had tickets for all 3 games and a hotel booked but that all went to sh*t when my stupid cousin decided to have a stupid wedding. Waste of time IMO (the wedding).
