  1. I’ve heard of a few gyms that have remained open in defiance of the provincial orders and I imagine there’s many more that I haven’t heard of. They go with no drop-ins, no new members, no cell phone use, etc. Eventually some moron will break the cell phone rule snd post a gym selfie on Instagram. I’m shocked it hasn’t happened yet really. Tortorella’s Rant could’ve saved himself the banhammer if he’d just been a little more patient
  2. Funny enough, McCarthy’s reasoning for the QB Draw was that the Niners were taking away the sideline. I thought it was a little ironic how Kellan Moore was mentioned as a rising star of the coaching ranks with a talent for offence, only for his team to lose on a pretty perplexing play call. Alliteration not intended.
  3. I was thinking about this too, and the more you think about it the worse it looks for McCarthy and Dak. Say what you will about Aaron Rodgers but that man can execute a 2 minute drill like no other. When you see him take off and use his legs to pick up some yards, he'll either get out of bounds or, if he can't get out, will slide earlier than he really needs to and the moment he's down you see him looking for an official to hand the ball off to. Dak just screwed the pooch on this one.
  4. I don’t think there’s much wrong with either contract (other than being a little long, but that’s the nature of the beast), I just don’t think you should carry both. If I remember correctly, the Pens paid Kunitz and then they paid Guentzel. They didn’t pay both at the same time and the other 3 winger spots in the top six were relatively cheap fillers. Hell, they’ve got Evan Rodriguez looking like an all star there right now. Going cheap in the top 6 allowed them the cap freedom to form the HBK line as their third line. They could do this because Sid and Gino could elevate their linemates far beyond what was commensurate with their pay. I would say Connor and Leon haven’t really done that yet, and Tip really seems to like playing them together.
  5. Isn’t draisatl due for a new contract at that point? They’re going to lose one of the best value contracts in the league without even winning a playoff series.
  6. This is what my Oilers-loving buddy says too, but is not kind of the opposite of what Pittsburgh did? They kept both Sid and Gino and found cost-effective ways to fill out their lines. The Oilers currently have about $13 million flanking McDrai snd that’s set to increase with new contracts needed for Pulj and Yamo this offseason. Pulj will probably get a considerable contract, maybe in the neighbourhood of $5M AAV while Yamo should come cheaper (then again, he’s probably not a long term solution in their top six). They can’t win with $15-20M spent on wingers for McDrai. They need to lose the Keith and Koskinen cap hits. Koskinen was a great parting gift from Chia and paying assets to take on the full cap hit of Duncan Keith’s shadow was just an astoundingly dumb move by Holland. With those cap hits off the books (as well as some others like Kass) and one of Hyman or Nuge traded I think they could actually ice a pretty deep, competitive roster. The $21M they have tied up for the ~300 points they get from Connor and Leon seems pretty fair to me.
  7. Everyone’s got their views and opinions, sure, but it bugged me how he’d always have that hat in his locker clearly visible to TV and then say “he didn’t want to talk politics” when asked about it.
  8. There’s also about a half dozen holding infractions on the Giants offensive line that didn’t go called Nah we’re all good here. It was a free bet (house money) so I figured I’d throw it on BB. Oh well. Congrats on the win. Sorry @Pears but I’ll be pulling for a Bills/Chiefs conference final, if I’m looking at the playoff tree correctly.
  9. I can’t imagine BB’s had many playoff losses of such a margin, has he?
  10. Listening to Chiclets you hear lots of guys telling stories and having laughs about their experiences with Lou, but they all seem to hold him in high regard in terms of his character.
  11. Didn’t check beforehand. Usually the app won’t list inactive players as an option. When this happened before they just voided that portion of the parlay and updated the odds.
  12. Sorry @RUPERTKBD, I’m hoping the Bills are going down tonight.
  13. I'm really hoping he's up for another shot in North America now that the Canucks are under new management. A right-handed center with speed and the ability to play a 200 foot game and chip in some modicum of offence- sounds like what we need.
  14. Why would anybody bother having any sort of conversation with you if this is your stance? I could spend the next two hours repeatedly punching myself in the nuts and it still wouldn't be as big of a waste of time.
  15. I think his girlfriend might be a Vikes cheerleader, too.
  16. If the sky isn’t falling, Canucks land is just waiting until it does.
  17. No college player is going to say “yeah I can’t wait to leave my current team and start making some coin” or anything to that effect. I wouldn’t read much into that response at all.
  18. This guy's gonna be our Joel Ward. He even played at a maritime university like JW.
  19. I remember wondering what had happened to @ShakyWalton- he was a regular poster who suddenly disappeared. Somebody else on here said they knew him personally and he had passed away. “It’s only strangers on the internet” but it still gets to ya. Fingers crossed all our AWOL members are alive and well.
  20. Not sure @Toews has been mentioned yet. I was thinking about him the other day while perusing the Trump thread. Haven’t seen that guy in ages. He was a good poster.
  21. It’s almost like they didn’t even try to take any precautions. I’ve heard Hanna is a great honeymoon spot this time of year.
  22. Hopefully we see a WCOH in the next year or two. There’s an outside shot he could make the team for the next Olympics as a role player and leader but it wouldn’t be the same.
  23. He was involved with pro scouting- free agents, trades, waivers, etc. He wouldn’t have been involved with the entry draft.
