  1. How in the hell can you say that with any degree of certainty? To me, logic leads me to assume that if he plays more he will score more and I'd say that would hold true for just about anybody in hockey. Even god dam Biz Nasty will improve on his abysmal numbers if he played 15 minutes per night, it's just bound to happen. The odd second assist, lucky bounce in front of the net, etc...
  2. I know he's still young but Gardiner just doesn't look like he'll ever be a reliable NHL d-man. I swear every time I see the Laughs play he's responsible for at least one goal and it's as the result of some very questionable decision making.
  3. Let's also not forget he's playing in the lowest scoring of the three CHL leagues. Ehlers will put up better numbers and playing in the Q is a big part of that so comparing their numbers isn't really fair. He won't even be 19 til august so it seems pretty ridiculous to be giving up on him already.
  4. I'll be over the moon for pretty much anything in the top 10 but I'd love provorov.
  5. Yeah his numbers aren't overwhelming but look at their roster, he's stuck behind a bunch of overagers and older guys. Overage players dominate in junior hockey, even a guy like Prab Rai had a great overage year after despite a pretty pedestrian career to that point. It's just a fact of junior hockey and I'm really not that concerned about the numbers. His assist totals have improved which I like and by all accounts of those who have actually watched him he's improved in many facets of the game he was previously considered to be deficient in. I'm really not worried yet. He's still a very promising prospect (reflected by his #15 ranking by hockey news) and his combination physical skills and offensive tool set aren't seen in many kids his age.
  6. I can't believe you just suggested Harkins is a greater offensive player than Virtnanen
  7. The rest of that is somewhat realistic but good luck getting provorov mid-first with the way he's shot up
  8. but can we shear him for precious wool?
  9. That description reminds me more of another Kings d-man: Alec Martinez. Your description of him (can do a bit of everything but doesn't excel at any one thing) is much like what I read about Roland Mckeown before last year's draft.
  10. this one's probably already done but I'll throw it out there anyway.
  11. Dammit that was good. You're correct.
  12. haha this is true but that's what the hats for. Got another stumper for you fine folks... "if you recognize this player as a former canuck, you simply watch too much hockey" -vancity hockey buzz edit: referring to the guy on the right, just to clarify lol
  13. looks eerily similar to Dwight Yoakam for the country music fans...
  14. Not sure how to give a good hint without giving too much away but I'll say this. This man spent parts of ten seasons in the NHL (parts of 3 with us) before taking off for the DEL, where he is pictured above.
  15. Now VC, I'm relatively new and you seem to know what you're doing around here so I'll ask you...if I wanted to get in on this thread and post some players for y'all to guess, how do I know that player hasn't been used already, if that even matters? Please don't tell me I have to scroll through each page lol
  16. Marc Chouinard. Took that guy in my first ever hockey pool as a twelve year old (selecting a day or two into the season) cause he scored a hatty on opening night. Needless to say the projections my twelve year old self had calculated didn't hold true.
  17. I'm ashamed to admit I tried that link twice before I clued in.
  18. Does anybody else absolutely hate Brian Burke? I know he did some good things for our organization but IMO he's the most pompous a*shole on the planet. All those things he said about Bobby Ryan and Keith Yandle when he cut them from Team USA last year... I find him very overrated as an NHL executive. He handcuffed Nonis with all his moves in Toronto and now Nonis is taking the flack (though Nonis did sign some of those contracts).
  19. Raymond would've fallen down trying to position himself and effectively ended the scoring chance.
