  1. That guy was a tool. What's his name, Garrett I think, was way cooler until we found out he's actually pretty dam racist. But still, don't trust Colton. He's full of spit. I don't buy the whole 27 year old virgin thing for a second.
  2. Watching the Sedins’ last game while baked is making me wanna cry a bit.

Haha, I couldn't help but notice that too. First- how different the roster is compared to then, and second- how much better we are. Especially with Brock not being in the lineup there, it's like two teams from different leagues.

It's too bad the Sedins had to end their careers as part of that $h*tshow.

yeah but it showed their level of dedication too, those guys never took a night off even when it didn't matter.

Absolutely yeah. It's impressive when you think about how they gave us a fairly legitimate top line right up through their last game as a Canuck. They had to be sheltered and whatnot but they still provided dependable scoring.

There was a shift in that game that made me think just how great they were in understated ways. I think it was in OT. Loose puck behind the ARI net, Daniel makes a great play using his body and I think a quick stick lift to win the puck battle against a bigger D man who also happened to get to the puck in a better position than Daniel. Extends possession which I believe leads to the OT winner.

Henrik was just throwing perfect sauce around like it was nothing. Flat as a pancake, nice spin, over then under a lane of sticks, right onto the tape. Incredible to watch.

  3. The hell are you trying to say about Anthony Bennett?
  4. I donno, I still found it pretty captivating. Quarantine can change your perspective though.
  5. Watched Ozark season 1 and 2 over the last few days. Great show. I was pleasantly surprised today to find that season 3 comes out tonight.
  6. Shane Wright had 39-27-66 in 58 games this year as a 15/16 year old before the OHL cancelled their season. I could be wrong but I think he's even getting PK time as an underage player in the O. Looks to be as advertised so far. Sean Day went in the third round to the NYR back in 2016. Basically split his time 50/50 between the AHL and ECHL since turning pro. Remains to be seen if he has an NHL career ahead of him. Veleno was having a pretty nice season for a 19 year old in the AHL before COVID hit. Looks to have an NHL future but remains to be seen.
  7. There was probably a dozen times where I was enraged by a non-call or crossing my fingers the Canucks wouldn't get called and then I realized no players, coaches, or fans seemed to give a crap about what happened. Just the way she went back then. I wanna see the old Summit Series now.
  8. As somebody born in '93, it was really strange to watch. I only caught from late in the second period on, but even in that time I must've seen 15 non-calls that would be considered egregious penalties by today's standard. I'm just talking blatant trips, tackles, etc. No way of counting the little hacks and grabs that would be called now that were just standard practice back then.
  9. Let’s see pics of the quarantine buddies. I think mine are getting pretty sick of me by now.

A lot better now that it’s day 5 of the antibiotics. I think I’ll be 100% tomorrow. Hoping to go back to work either Friday or Monday if they’ll let me back sooner than the 15 day quarantine period would’ve allowed now that I’ve got a negative covid test (got that news today).

  11. No, my aunt is an idiot. She just happens to be an idiot that makes a helluva lot more money than my mom. I've always found it odd that between police, fire, and nurses only one of them actually requires a degree and it's also the one that pays quite a bit less than the other two. I think about $20-25K less. Obviously some nurses can make more in different jobs or whatever but I believe your standard RN working in an ER caps out around $80K.
  12. Oddly enough no. Wasn't long ago one of my mom's sister's called her an "overpaid pill dispenser". Oh how the turntables turn.
  13. My mom's one of those retired nurses who's been asked to return to work. Not sure where she stands on it but it worries me. She's 63 years old and one year off of a 45 year smoking habit, also diabetic and has HBP. She helps her dad take care of her very sick 81 year old mother and my grandparents don't really have another option. If she gets sick, the results could be disastrous not only for her but for my grandparents as well. My 57 year old father (a semi-retired cop who hasn't worked patrol since 2003) has been told to expect to be deployed somewhere around the lower mainland to work patrol in a relief effort. A lot of cops are starting to fall sick and plenty of others I'm sure just don't want to take the risk. My old man's about as healthy as a 57 year old gets but nonetheless he's 57. Age alone would put him at somewhat of a risk. I guess my point is many of these retired workers who are being asked to help out are themselves in the "at-risk" demographic. Results could be ugly for many of them.
  14. I'd be fully in favour of fines for people not observing good health practices at this point. At best, they're prolonging this whole pandemic and at worst they'll cause deaths.
  15. I have a feeling that a not-insignificant portion of the population will see flattening the curve as a "win" and get a little lax with their hygiene and distancing practices.
  16. Today, quarantine drove me to watch Vacation (2015). I didn’t even know it existed. Ed Helms plays an adult Rusty Griswold trying to take his wife and two sons on a vacation. Outside of one or two mildly funny scenes it was an absolute train wreck.
  17. Voted Linden. Perhaps it's already been covered, but what's our criteria here? Most talented? Best career? Most valuable to the franchise? Best career as a Canuck? Most talented, a guy like Mogilny would have to get some consideration somewhere in this list even though he certainly didn't have one of the 50 best Canuck careers. Best overall career? Guys like Messier and Sundin would be high on the list even though they weren't much as Canucks.
  18. I was so happy on the day that James Cybulski got taken off TV so I’d never have to watch another baseball highlight package and hear him yell “PEACEEEE” every time a home run was hit. It’s all come home to roost now. He’s on this god dam game. F*** me.
  19. For what it's worth, I don't think gastro-intestinal issues occur with COVID. I could be wrong though.
  20. My symptoms haven’t improved this week, and earlier this afternoon they actually worsened to the point I was having quite a bit of difficulty breathing. Called 911 and was basically told to get bent- they won’t be taking anyone or testing anyone that doesn’t present severe or life-threatening symptoms as there’s simply not enough tests. Called ahead to SMH and let them know I was coming in. Clocked a fever of 104 and my chest was very wheezy on the stethoscope so they got me in pretty quick. Got xrays and bloodwork and the whole deal and it appears I’ve just got a wicked case of pneumonia, which I figured might be the case seeing as I’ve had it three times before. They ended up swabbing me as a precaution but don’t expect it to come back positive. I’m very happy to get this sorted out but I can’t help but be disappointed that we’re so underprepared in terms of tests that we can only test people with severe or life-threatening symptoms. We knew this was coming for a couple months, that should’ve given us plenty of time. Seems like an underwhelming response.
  21. FWIW, my experience at the Save-On on Cambie at 7th on Sunday wasn’t quite the same. No meat, very few canned goods, limited selection of bread, vegetables, etc.
