  1. Did the same except Perron instead of Makar. He’s having an impressive year.
  2. I thought he looked absolutely dominant in 2015. Definitely better than Mackinnon in 2013, with all due respect to him.
  3. I can’t say I’ve seen enough of him to really have a strong opinion. In the few times I’ve seen him he just looks like a run of the mill third pairing guy at best, and other times he looks like an AHL’er. Not sure it’s a signing that’s really worth getting excited about.
  4. “Great value” is probably a little hyperbolic too. From what I’ve seen of Holl he’s just a pretty average 6, maybe 5 d man. Leafs fans are ready to drive him to the airport after half of their games. They’ve been a little happier with him lately but that’s only the last 5-10 games.
  5. Can you honestly say his shot is as good as it was in his rookie year? You don’t see him picking corners and besting goalies clean at anywhere near the same rate he did two years ago. In his rookie year it seemed like if he got a little time and space in the home plate area he was gonna score most of the time whereas now he just doesn’t seem as lethal.
  6. Podz was out when they first pulled the goalie but came off after a whistle.
  7. there’s a ton of recognizable names on the team. Gilbert Brulé, Brandon Yip (from maple ridge I believe), Griffin Reinhart, Devante Smith-Pelly, Wojtek Wolski (played several years in the NHL not long ago), former members of the Canucks organization in Adam Cracknell and Brendan DeFazio, Peter Bondra and Chris Chelios’ sons, and a slightly less recognizable name in Spencer Foo. If I’m not mistaken, he was a highly sought after college UFA a couple years back. I think he ended up in Calgary? almost missed Andrej Sustr. Most recently with Tampa I believe.
  8. He’s probably just trolling, but c’mon. https://mobile.twitter.com/AndrewWalker650/status/1207887706551795712?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^tweet
  9. If I’m not mistaken, Marky would still be eligible to be selected even without a contract. It may be less enticing to Seattle given that there’s the risk of him simply walking to free agency, but they’d have the cap space to offer him a nice deal and it wouldn’t be a big move down the I-5 for him. It’s not really a magic fix to the expansion draft problem.
  10. I’m convinced you’re just pulling these numbers out of your arse because my post quality should be much higher. I spit straight fire.
  11. Not sure how anyone could omit the Blackhawks red jersey.
  12. Here’s my big guy Mack cuddling his little sister Betty, who’s sick with a bladder infection. The photo quality sucks but they melt my heart nonetheless.
  13. A not insignificant part of me would be happy if the Canucks went 2-80 in a year but just beat the wheels off of the Leafs in those two wins. Like 9-1 final, shots 54-12, dominate possession. Dominate the physical game. Then steal their wives, girlfriends, and mothers.
  14. From reading hfboards, Wings fans say he’s been pretty bad. Didn’t see specifically how though.
  15. It wasn’t that long ago CDC would’ve creamed its collective pants to see Bowey available for free.
  16. As others have said, I'd wager that teams would take Makar over Petey. He looks to be a true #1, Norris-caliber d man. There's only maybe 5-10 of those in the league at any time, they're the rarest asset in the game. Even more so than a #1C. Reading between the lines of JB's comments after the 2017 draft, it sort of seemed like Makar was the guy they had #1 and Petey was #2. Then again, I'd be curious to see what Makar's production would look like this year if he wasn't playing with the talent he is. He's a pretty great player nonetheless though.
