  1. You can see Jimmy’s scrotum from outer space.
  2. Just got caught up to the live feed, good timing. Thank god anaheim Broberg. Zegras gone... I’m hoping for Krebs here I guess.
  3. I think what @debluvscanucks is pretty on point. In terms of training obliques, I like things like plank arm taps, suitcase carries, palloff press, etc. They hammer the obliques and they’re safe for the spine.
  4. So we take on a salary dump to downgrade to what would likely be a lower first round pick and from a second to a third rounder? Am I taking crazy pills or is this trade as horrendous as I think it is?
  5. Personally, I find LISS cardio kinda boring. Depending how you do it I also find it harder on the body. Interval training just has me more focused and I can get pretty much the same benefit in a fraction of the time. It’s also better for body composition.
  6. @Monty like NPF said, Tabata style is the way to go. Even 4-5 minutes (if you truly give your max effort) will do plenty. If you’re looking to train for a half marathon you might want to try other methods but for general fitness/conditioning, that should be plenty. I like skipping rope too. Only thing, for me at least, is I have tight calves and some chronic Achilles tendinitis on my left ankle so too much skipping and that starts to flare up. Just something to consider.
  7. Just don’t be awful. Your conditioning might be lacking, which would affect your overall work capacity. My conditioning is crap right now and I notice it doing higher rep sets.
  8. Every meathead in the world was taking glutamine around 2010-2012 lol
  9. Just about every prediction piece I can find had them finishing much better than they did. People seemed to get that they weren’t as good as they showed in 2016-17, but nobody thought they’d do as poorly as they did this year. The consensus was that they were a playoff team or at least a team vying for a spot, which is what I said. Thanks, once again, for digging up an old post in an attempt to make me look like a dumb***. Just save it next time.
  10. Makes sense, as I’ve only ever noticed an improvement in my <4-5 lifts and not in the higher volume stuff. When it comes to creatine there’s quite a bit of research supporting it and it’s dirt cheap so I figure it can’t hurt. On the topic, remember about 10 years ago when glutamine was the next big thing?
  11. If you’re doing fine without any supplementation I’d just stick with your current plan. 90% of supplements are crap and the remaining 10% should just be used to fill in gaps. If there’s no gaps to fill, carry on as you were.
  12. For sure. But doesn’t the increased ATP help with recovery between higher rep sets too? Increasing workload would lead to increased gains, all things being equal. Recovery, nutrition, and whatnot being accounted for. So as a byproduct, wouldn’t creatine improve body comp?
  13. I notice a bit of performance boost with creatine. There’s loads of research to support it but there are people that are non-responders.
  14. I think some vitamins are dosed more effectively but any nutritionist I’ve ever read/talked to has said that a good diet will render a multi unnecessary. Anecdotally, I’ve never noticed any difference between taking or not taking a multi.
  15. A protein supplement would help. Myprotein and canadianprotein offer good products at a good price. Creatine is, I believe, the only supplement actually proven to boost performance in the gym. More recent studies are finding links between creatine and other health benefits as well. Fish oils will do you well. From what I’ve read multivitamins are a waste of time. Certain vitamins and minerals are way overdosed, others don’t absorb well in the presence of certain others (magnesium in the presence of calcium, for example) and end up just being excreted by the body.
  16. That’s fair. I think your Detroit proposal might be a slight over payment but probably close it realistic while I think the Edmonton deal undervalued it.
  17. He paced for over 50 this year and about 30 goals. He’s a proven top 6 player at the NHL level while Pulj hasn’t proven squat. Regardless of JP’s potential/pedigree I think your Detroit valuation is much greater than yours with Edmonton.
  18. Those deals aren’t even close to comparable value.
  19. Binnington should not have won the Conn Smythe with the stinkers he had mixed into his playoff run. ROR scoring in four straight cup final games cemented it for him. A losing Rask would’ve been a better choice than Binnington.
