[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Pittsburgh Penguins | Nov. 27, 2019
Jam126 replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
We didn't deserve to win this game anyway. 4 out of 5 games on this trip this team has not shown up. This is becoming a serious problem. The players look disinterested, and the coaching staff is a mess. -

You gotta look at all of these wins and just laugh... Isn't that right, Matt Murray? -

This was a playoff game, and we stood tall for the challenge. I'm proud of the boys today, this is one of their best games they've played this season, especially down their top D-man. -

Yeah, we didn't play well, but we lost games that we should've won, so it evens out. I just hope they wake up and start playing quality hockey soon, they're better than this. We've got the Caps up next, if we play the way we did last time we played them and we play smart hockey then we have as good a chance of beating them as they have of beating us. Problem is the game starts at 9:30 local time, and we know how we are when we play this early. -
Babcock or Green. Who would you rather see coach the Canucks.

Well, I think the choice is pretty obvious. Me. -

Come to think of it, ever since Loui came back in the team started losing... -

Exactly, like if you're going to be losing games make it fun. At least lose 7-5 or 6-4. This team is boring AND bad. -

You've been doing this for 5 years now, tanking will not solve our problems. This isn't NHL 20. With our luck we won't win any lottery anyway, so who cares. -

I wasn't expecting a playoff team this season, but at least a sign of progression in the rebuild... It turns out they're exactly the same, that's the frustrating part. -

This team actually reminds me more of the 2014 team than anything else. They are just emotionless and passionless out there, like their energy has been sucked out and doesn't exist. What a pathetic team right now... -

Did you read what I said? I blamed the players and the coach. The coach is implementing garbage systems that no sane coach in the NHL would do, and the players simply don't give a crap about playing hockey. This is a team-wide issue. -

No, don't say that. That's an excuse. -

What separates a team like the Coyotes from us is they have a competent coach and are willing to play hard every shift from beginning to end. We are not even engaged, and coach Ruffalo is a soft coach who has a stale coaching staff implementing stale systems. I've never seen any other team in the NHL defend like the Canucks do. I mean, who just allows the opponent to simply stroll into the o-zone without resistance? It's embarrassing! This team simply does not care. -

At least Bieksa has some passion and charisma compared to this stale toast of a coach we have right now. -

I don't think this core will have what it takes. They have no passion. They haven't even played a good game this season. -

While I guess it comes childish for some, it's good that this team is not going to settle on losing and getting a point. And maybe Marky was frustrated with himself. No biggie. -

3 of 4 points against the Stanley Cup Champions is pretty good. But, we could've had 4. OT is not on our side this season so far. lol -
Thing is, this year there are many metrics and numbers to back up that this isn't simply a mirage like these past 4 seasons. When we had these hot starts before, there were many indicators that it would not last, and that we would fall off soon. You could say we had an easy schedule but keep in mind we not only have beaten these lower teams, we annihilated them. We also have much more depth then we had before, we even have some legitimate NHL players playing on our AHL farm team. Plus the amount of talent we have added and another year of Boeser and Pettersson to mature, and we've got a more convincing chance at a playoff spot this season. I'd also like to add that the D compared to last season is night and day. They are a possession puck-moving D rather than a slow, blocky D that had Gudbranson, Del Zotto, and Pouliot.

I like Myers play so far, but I agree that he had not produced as much as we would have liked him to produce so far. I think Green should put Myers on PP1 since he has a bomb from the point and can also create offense. IMO He is also just more unpredictable than Edler on the PP. Move down Edler onto PP2. I think if Green does that for the time being while Hughes is out, I think our PP could get more scoring chances.

I remember a recent game in SJ where it was just PP for close to 40 minutes. It was a tire fire. Officiating needs to be upgraded in this league and referees should be held accountable. -

OK. But poor officiating is not a Canucks issue, it's a league-wide issue, and it must be solved. The poor officiating really sucks the excitement out of the game and makes the NHL look like a corrupt league (which it probably is anyway). -

What's so childish about saying that? You seem childish for replying like that. I don't know what you want, we dominated them in the shot clock and in possession in the first 35 min. and then cooled down, it was even the rest of the way. We had so many great chances that could've easily have been a blowout early in the game. I guess we'll agree to disagree though. But you claim I'm making stuff up because I watched the game. OK.
