  1. Looks bogus. As of yet none of the insiders had the return for Giordano or announced that Reimer has been traded.
  2. None of the insiders have announced that he has been traded - quite the contrast to all the tweets on Stecher going to LA.
  3. Canucks are getting their own 3rd round pick back - the one they gave up for Nate Schmidt. Vegas traded it to Ottawa for Dadonov.
  4. They chose to protect Tanev over Giordano in expansion which made sense. Stecher was not qualified and became a UFA.
  5. The 3rd round pick for Deslauriers is the 1st pick that Guerin has given up since he took over in August 2019. He's traded a conditional 7th for Bjugstad but was able to retain the pick. Otherwise he's been adding picks and hasn't given up any, other than to move up at the draft.
  6. Last night's post-game show on Sportsnet 650. Woodley believes Halak has been willing to waive for some time now. Says his role hasn't been what he was told when he signed and that he didn't expect to be playing that little and thought it would be more of a 1B situation. Doesn't agree with the takes that Halak has been awful in Vancouver. Tweeted this where he highlights that Halak was operating in the 4th worse environment according to the tracking company CSA and that it's really the last 2 games that did him in.
  7. Sat Shah on the post-game (the section when Woodley was on) was saying that the issue has been valuation. He believes that management are open to trading players but he's implying that the offers haven't been there. Says he isn't excited when he hears that teams are offering a 2nd round pick and B-prospect for Garland for instance.
  8. Giving Myers an opportunity for a fresh start? A team could claim him and test him out for the rest of the season. He's under 26 so the buyout cost is only 1/3rd of his contract instead of 2/3rds. A buyout would even create 617K in cap space for next season because of how his deal was structured. A year later they'll have 633K on the books though.
  9. Has a role he wouldn't have on another team. He's Boudreau's go-to player and also has a big voice off the ice with the group being younger. On a contender he becomes one of many - NYR and COL already have their offensive stars and big locker room guys. Will he even be on the 1st PP unit or the 1st wave with the extra attacker, or on the 1st start in OT.
  10. The aim is to win games so probably thinking they'll fail less than if it was someone else in that role. Pettersson is also being developed to be an offensive weapon - that's not going to be Horvat. Horvat retains his role while Pettersson continues to try and elevate his linemates. Petan and Chiasson aren't suited to play with Horvat as Boudreau uses him as their matchup line. He relies on Miller for scoring so it leaves them with Pettersson.
