Arizona will get better offers than that. Rutherford's 1st advice to Guerin was to try and make trades as fair as possible. Says if you are trying to win a trade then you won't make many. -

Venues are for the most part not available during the Olympic break - arenas weren't going to just stay empty all that time. -

Nashville had no NHL coach available for their game tonight. They had to recall their AHL head coach Karl Taylor. Assistant GM Scott Nichol also on the bench. Won 5-2 against Colorado. Both teams with several players in Covid protocol. Colorado was actually short-handed with only 10 Fs / 6 Ds and Francouz in net who hadn't played in over a year due to injuries. Colorado were given the option to postpone the game given how late the test results came in and with no replacement available. -

That's what media has been reporting. The IIHF has created a 5M fund to pay for the salaries of players who miss time due to testing positive - Friedman says it's not clear what happens if the funds run out and there are still players in quarantine. A player with a 6M salary gets paid 630K over 21 days as there are 200 days in this season. -
[Report] Canucks hire Derek Clancey as assistant GM

Karmanos was overseeing the amateur scouting staff in Pittsburgh from 2016/17 till his firing in October 2020. Was Botterill before him - from his bio on the Penguins' website: Oversaw the Penguins scouting and development staff that drafted, signed and developed many key contributors to the team's 2016 Stanley Cup title. -

From the press release on Weisbrod's promotion to AGM: Weisbrod first joined the Canucks as Vice President, Player Personnel on July 7, 2014. As Assistant General Manager, he will work closely with Jim Benning and Trevor Linden on player personnel decisions, provide strategic direction to the professional and amateur scouting departments and support day-to-day team operations. On Brackett's promotion: Judd Bracket served seven years as an Amateur Scout in the Canucks organization prior to being named Director of Amateur Scouting. Brackett will oversee the Amateur Scouting staff, leading the department and supporting the player evaluations of regional scouts. Brackett will report to John Weisbrod in his new role. Now Clancey's - sounds like Harvey will be reporting to him just like Brackett reported to Weisbrod: Derek Clancey, 52, joins the Canucks after working most of his NHL career with the Pittsburgh Penguins between 2007 and 2021. As Assistant GM, Clancey will work closely with Rutherford and will oversee the Canucks professional and amateur scouting staffs. -

No. It was part of the changes introduced ahead of the Edmonton bubble. The return to play and changes to the CBA were approved as a package. Benning also wanted to extend Toffoli but once he qualified Virtanen he no longer had the necessary cap space and didn't have the time to create more room.

[Rumour] Coyotes gauging market on Jakob Chychrun

Arizona is going for a scorched earth rebuild as Armstrong explained to LeBrun - they are in full tear down mode. He doesn't want to just re-load and feels that they need to completely start over through the draft. In the off-season they've built up their amateur scouting department given that their focus is draft and development. Chychrun is only 23 - they must feel that he will be too old/too close to UFA by the time they come out of their rebuild + they get ahead of him possibly asking out as they don't look to be anywhere close to turning things around. They are probably looking exclusively for draft picks or more recently drafted prospects who are younger and have more team controlled years left than him. Would probably take cap back if it improves the return. They've been trying to leverage their cap space - were willing to act as 3rd party for an Eichel trade and he has 5 years left. -

Buildings for the most part won't be available during the Olympic break so they won't be able to make up for many games during that time either. -
Conditional picks upon re-signing are no longer allowed.
