  1. I just checked again TVA Sports and there's no mention of Montreal. Only a reference to Friedman saying Toronto/Vancouver. Apparently Montreal talked to Pittsburgh about Letang. Subban doesn't make sense as they have Weber and Petry on RD.
  2. Just copy the URL of the tweet and it should embed automatically It looks like this: https://twitter.com/TSN1040/status/1142198784904114178
  3. Sportsnet here is talking of Toronto and Vancouver: https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/p-k-subban-drawing-trade-interest-canadian-teams/ P.K. Subban‘s name is floating around in trade rumours at the NHL Draft in Vancouver, and at least two Canadian teams appear interested in the Nashville Predators defenceman. Sources tell Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman that the Toronto Maple Leafs have at least investigated the possibility of whether there’s a trade to be made that would make sense for them given their cap situation. Obviously, anything the Leafs choose to pursue is dependent upon a resolution to Mitch Marner‘s contract negotiations. The Vancouver Canucks – who first tried to acquire Subban at the 2016 draft when he was a member of the Montreal Canadiens – are also believed to be looking into his availability.
  4. I didn't say he wouldn't be traded. Only that he fits in well in the room. There's no indication that there is tension there while there was in Montreal.
  5. He fits in well in Nashville. No issue there. He even has the team wearing his gear for his foundation and some even go with him spontaneously to visit the hospital each time they play in Montreal.
  6. Colorado says they are willing to keep Barrie as their own rental. No reason for them to accept this deal.
  7. NJD would never trade Hischier. He is a culture carrier for them. They've already had him wearing the A. Have you watched how he jumped to the defence of Blackwood when Troy Brouwer bumped into him. They have young Ds coming too. Shero talks of the importance of the strength down the middle and referenced Pittsburgh. Hischier is their matchup C - he plays against any line. Hughes would be more of a high end offensive C.
  8. For Sakic they are still in rebuild mode. They have a lot of young players coming and they still need to develop before they move into win now mode. He wants the team to continue to take steps forward but this is not the same situation as Philadelphia, Nashville etc. They are building a contender but aren't there yet.
  9. In Nashville he created "blueline buddies" where he is trying to build bridges between youth at risk and law officers. Each home game he invites someone from the Nashville police and a mentor from a youth organisation and an underprivileged teen. It builds a rapport and some have actually stayed in touch with each other. He donates his time and takes them to dinner.
  10. Drafting Byram would increase the likelihood that they trade Barrie dixit Dater. They are telling teams that they are willing to keep Barrie as their own rental. New Jersey is not trading 1st overall. Shero explains why the 1st is not in play at the 3min mark.
  11. They are apparently talking with Buffalo about Ristolainen - there were already discussions at the TDL but Tampa didn't want to remove from it's roster heading into the playoffs. Tampa probably wants some cost certainty and Tanev is a UFA in one year.
  12. It's the leadership too. They were in a complete mess in the 2017/18 season with dissension in the room - Weber was out injured. Bergevin at the end of the season talked non stop about character. He cleaned house and named Weber the captain.
  13. Tanev is not the kind of D Nashville would have interest in. They demand that their Ds be able to generate offence. Poile insists that a 1st pass is not enough and Laviolette explains that in the o-zone there is no positional play. They want Ds who can cycle the puck. That's not Tanev.
  14. Dubas says it's not a given that he will match an offer-sheet. It's probably also a warning to Marner.
  15. Dubas says that there is a good chance that Marleau will remain a Leaf. Cost to move him must be just too high.
  16. The NHLPA still needs to sign off. The league has to wait on their decision on the escalator.
  17. The announcement is expected for Saturday per LeBrun.
  18. They want to improve their 2nd line. They didn't have much scoring after their big-3.
  19. Left side - Girard, Zadorov and Cole signed for another 2 years. They don't really need Hutton.
  20. Per LeBrun several teams interested. LeBrun says there's mutual interest with Nashville. Chicago also interested.
  21. 6M is not going to give them enough cash to build a D-corps, find a goalie and create another scoring line.
  22. He wouldn't accept. Lucic is not the sole reason they are a mess - moving him doesn't solve all their issues. It's on their youtube channel - it's pretty obvious that he thinks the best way to move forward is to draft. He talks of how drafting accelerates the process - he hopes they can draft 2 or even 3 prospects who will make the league.
