  1. What was the third period, playing to keep the loss. 9 minutes without a shot, lol.
  2. Wow, can't do it to a back to back road team. So easy to play against. Just let the Nucks shoot from the outside and voila, a shutout.
  3. so a high pick here we come, looks like we are stuck with Green until the end of the season. I could be misreading his coaching but, you know, it sure doesn't look like it's working or that he and the players are on the same page, notwithstanding the PK injuries/gaps. Green intimates that the systems are pretty much all the same in the NHL and that execution is the problem. Man I would love to be a fly in the locker room. I say Jim gets one more year after green, unless they take a major leap forward.
  4. I can feel it, we are nearing the end of the Green era. He can walk away with much Green and the Nucks can turn things around. Only a couple of losses and it's a lock. We will see how the players respond to this prospect.
  5. 5 Nuck penalties and 3 for the quacks. That's simply corrupt considering the way the Ducks played.
  6. Reffs ignoring too many men. What BS. I call BS on this corrupt league. Good push from the boys at the end.
  7. Such biased officiating tonight. So many weak calls against Nucks. Ducks getting away with everything. FU reffs GCG Nice shot Pettey.
  8. Does it make you wonder why our PP has been so static for this long? Green suggesting his conversation helped but why would any coach be so slow to adjust. Even us non professional fans have been harping on this for weeks. It seems as though Pettey worked hard in his interview to no call out the coaching, Miller seems a little less concerned and nailed the static, boring nature. That's 100 percent on coaching if indeed it took this long to green light some creativity. The player need to stop listening to these play book coaches and start making their own.
  9. I can't wait to have enough talent to bump Pearson to the bottom 6. Green's big pet not purring this year.
  10. Yup, during a few of those rock bottom years, Willy was playing the vets at the end of the season to get the odd additional win, while other teams and managers were thinking about the long game. These boards were full of "culture of winning" rationalizations. Our rebuild started a few years later than it should have as well because Vancouver was not a fan base that could stomach a full rebuild. Funny how Toronto ended up with a first overall. Those were dark days, today is much brighter, despite the current funk.
  11. I'm looking forward to seeing what the coaches have drawn up for the PP tonight. My guess is more of the same but a guy can hope until reality takes over. GCG,
  12. Decent interview. Some honesty and humbleness from a new guy. Seems like they want to be hard to pay against but it's such a broad statement, I'm not sure what that means in reality. Do they want to physically pummel other teams, or perhaps be a team that wins games through drawing penalties and scoring on the PP, or a very structured team that cautiously awaits the third period to either open up or lock down, depending upon the score? I look forward to knowing what Green wants them to become. It's clear they are not yet where and what they want to be. GCG
  13. I'm still not sure what the Canucks' identity is. I like their fast skilled play but often it's sprinkled between long segments of predictable static and soft play. Perhaps that's Green's weapon. Keep them guessing and pounce if they over adjust. The rhetoric of being hard to play against has not crystallized into reality. Unfortunately other teams are likely to favour playing the nucks with their back-up goalie. Identity by 20GP is my hope. GCG
  14. The first on on Hoggs was pathetic, the other one I can live with. This is why I don't think our team should worry about playing a clean game, the call will come anyway and the reffs like to even things up. Boston took advantage in 2011 and it's still happening.
  15. Agree, he's a beauty pick up. Can't wait to have Motte and Garland running amuck. Team just needs more creativity and it's up to the players to take or reject certain parts of the script--treat the coaching like a guide vs. a rule.
  16. It's clear Bettman has chosen the Oilers as the "gifted" team this year. All part of game management with a financial twist. I hope their D gets exposed in the play-offs and they exit first round. Bunch of entitled embellishers. I look forward to the game, if only to see whether the Nucks coaching has started to evolve beyond the boring static systems, or whether the players start the renegades.
  17. I wonder if Hoggs, Garland, and Petey want to play a static system and stand in a box, or if they are coached to play that way. I would love to see these guys dippsy doodle and dazzle everywhere.
  18. I would love to see a new coach with a proven record. Guys either gel and start succeeding or become trade bait because they can no longer look over their shoulder.
