  1. I don't understand his take on freedom then. To me we're free because we have freedom of choice on work, spending, living, etc. I also don't really agree with Karl Marx's definition of exploitation. Anyone is able to start their own company, and quit a job if they don't like it. The real kick in the balls is the million regulations/hoops the government makes you jump through before you can even open your doors. The government should make it easier to start companies not insanely annoying and difficult to the point where people give up. For the part-time workers, if there's a legitimate reason why they're limited to only work part-time hours there should be a program in place to help them out. The whole idea of "Seizing the means of production" so the working class isn't "exploited" is a flawed ideology. I do agree with you on these superficial videos though, they're meant to install fear into people and teach them very little.
  2. Under those three I'd say we don't have equality but we have freedom and fraternity. I don't think they debated and they probably will never end up debating unless JP's health does a 180 for the better.
  3. I guess it's different for the world of study that I'm in. For business no one cares about prestige for your undergrad, but for your MBA you want to go to Ivey, or Smith and LU where they'll let anyone with a 3.0 GPA and 525 GMAT in.
  4. That's very true, marxism seems to be used are some umbrella term for socialism, communism, Maoism, Leninism, etc. My gripe is that some of the arguments Wolff talks about aren't good in my opinion. He said something along the line of "under capitalism you don't have freedom", which I think is blatantly false. The other argument he commonly talks about is the exploitation of the working class. I think this is a horrible argument against capitalism for multiple reasons.
  5. Just made my first over workout plan. I think it's pretty killer. Let me know how I can improve it! The sets/reps acts are more of a guide. Really excited to start this bad boy asap. Edit: Changed from Goblin squats to Goblet squats. Also added front squats to leg day (Volume - 3x8 *Smith Machine).
  6. Would med school interest you? It seems like the most obvious transition if you want to a more lucrative career. With that being said studying children's diseases seems like a very rewarding career, especially if you get your PhD. With science I'm assuming it makes a difference where you study (UofT vs. Laurentian).
  7. You're too quick to forget what Markstrom did for us this season. He's an NHL all-star, and has been solid all season long. The one game is far too small of a sample size to justify picking Demko over Markstrom, hell even three games is still not enough. There are some issues with Markstrom, he's already 30, on his second injury this season, and will be expensive. Benning has a tough decision to make this off-season.
  8. I want to get my MBA, I can also see myself going back to study Economics. What are you doing?
  9. If Demko stands on his head and wins us the next two games, would that be enough to completely write off Markstrom?
  10. I think it depends on what you're studying. I'm hoping to get my masters in a few years from now.
  11. His response makes sense, some of his points I thought were wrong. I don't even know if this guy is a marxist, or just studies it. After listening to him a few times now, I still feel very strongly against marxism.
  12. It's 225, which only 1/1000 people on Earth can lift, and I imagine that number falls off a cliff once we hit people in your age range, considering the average for 50-59 years olds is 75% of their weight.
  13. That's awesome, I hope I can still kickass like that when I hit 60.
  14. I wouldn't speak too quickly I might have to disqualify him for using a slingshot though.
  15. Yeah, Siakam has taken a step back these playoffs
  16. The leaves are already beginning to change here.

  17. I'm just curious to what exactly we should push back on, Jordan Peterson says a lot of stuff.
  18. Aho is a beast, definitely the better player than Laine
  19. If Demko somehow steals the Vegas series for us, I think that'll make Jim Bennings job more interesting this off-season.
  20. This win should swing momentum our way for game 6. Tomorrow nights game is going to be the hardest to win by far, Vegas is going to put up one hell of a fight. We're due for a shutout, and a high scoring game though. If we win tomorrow anything can happen game 7. Let's get two more wins and shock the world.
