  1. I wouldn't mind doing this deal anyday. I always loved the move from the very moment it was made. Hernandez just looked like a promising player and with the amount of talent the Astros had, they weren't giving him enough opportunities. Now having him makes letting Bats walk much less painful as we'll know we have a player capable or maybe even better than Bats
  2. Martial, Lukaku and Mickey continue to be in fine form for the Red Devils. Great execution by the team. Flawless performance. Martial setting up Lukaku for the aerial finish up high. Then Mickey created a penalty and Martial coolly slotted it in. He, later, scored a goal of his own after Lukaku was stopped. And Lukaku finished it off with another Martial cross and poked it home. Martial was easily MOTM. Class performance by him and hope he continues to play well and stay in form. Sucks we couldn't get the clean sheet but nevertheless, nice to get another win
  3. And no surprises at all hahah.. D Wade to the Land joining IT and LeBron. They certainly have the pieces to retain the title once again. It's definitely different without Irving, who's arguably one of the most clutch playoff performers and scorers in recent history and he's just as consistent during the reg season. Will be interesting to see how IT fits in and gels once he returns. Having D Wade will be a game changer and with LeBron being LeBron, the Land are in the mix of things and remain favorites in the East though I think the Raps will have something to say about that
  4. I can't believe it not looking good for the Hawks. Wilson and the offense needs to get going again
  5. Yeah definitely. The West will be exciting to watch. Then you factor in the Rockets and Spurs who have improved and added to their already talented rosters and you've got yourselves one hell of a horse race for top 4 in the Conference. They are going to be top 4 but it's all about taking down the defending champs GS and putting them in a position to struggle and disturb their flow of play and OKC, Spurs, Rockets are in the best position to take them down as long as healthy.
  6. I love the potential this kid can be. Had a fantastic camp and shame he had to be cut. It might've worked out to his favour as he has a nice start in the WHL with Kelowna. The way he handles the puck with protection and creates plays, I have no doubt he'll develop into a solid NHLer for us. Benning got us a gem
  7. Good news. He's shown last couple years how clutch he can be during the postseason and his consistency during the season. I'm happy with this reupping. He's our 2nd ace behind Stroshow. Good for him and the team
  8. I'd be down to join. Haven't tried this kind of league yet and looks really interesting. Once everything is explained, then it will makes things much easier
  9. Sent my keepers a couple weeks ago as well to kj B.S's Team Barkov Carter Hoffman Marchand Pacioretty Kesler Keith Weber Rask Was deliberating between Gibson and Rask after Gibson had a stellar year for the Ducks but it came down to who's the better goalie in the regular season who has the potential to be better and Rask was the chosen one. Good luck to everyone next season!
  10. Not a convincing win by the Hawks but a win is a win and I'll take it anyday. The offense could certainly use some work. Other than rook Darboh who was able to create a pass interference call and Richardson who made a clutch grab for the Hawks' 1st TD, the offense looked flat for the most part. I expect it to get better as the season progresses and they're capable of better. They usually can score 20 in a blink of an eye. But it's this defence I'm most excited about. One of the league's best, most explosive defenses. It's the offensive line like almost every game I'm worried about and I'm hoping it improves along with the offense along the way
  11. I tune in late in the match with about a quarter of an hour left and Utd caught fire. Mkhitaryan, Lukaku and now Martial who seal the deal. Great awareness by Fellaini who blocks the clearance right to his countryman Lukaku who was able to put a gorgeous pass for Mickey who slotted home beautifully. Lukaku took a free kick that took a deflection off the wall that ends up in Matic's feet who's shot was deflected also but right into the feet of Lukaku who finished quite easily. He's been in stunning form. Then Martial comes on late and created a penalty that he took and found the net easily. The team continues to fire on all cylinders and hopefully Utd can keep it going!
  12. Nice! The finger wag lives on haha.. one of the best shot blockers in the Association. He's a legend in his own right. On another note, can't wait till basketball gets underway! Time for the Raps to dethrone the Celts, Cavs and hopefully win the championship. Sounds unlikely I know but you never know. Just don't want GS to win another ship
  13. Excited for the upcoming season ahead with preseason just a few days away! Not much expectations but I'm looking forward to Green's inaugural season and see how our new signings fit in. Can't wait to see the boys hit the ice in China!

    1. Green Building

      Green Building

Plenty of new faces to get used to seeing wearing our uniform, and Green seems to be making an early impression. We'll see what that translates into come October.

  14. So this game has been meh so far.. Bengals just finished a drive that lasted almost half the quarter and only got a FG to show for it. Gotta step up their game
  15. 1st place up for grabs tonight and the boys have defended our home fort pretty well. Reyna and Davies are speedy wingers heading the right direction and only getting better. Parker and Waston are a dream center half duo in the back line. The team is deep in the bench too with Ibini, Ghezzal, Williams, De Jong who started in place of Harvey I'm guessing to rest up for the upcoming weekend match. They are a serious contender and threat to win it all and they deserve it. Reyna and Hurtado finished off beautiful chances and Shea had a MOTM performance. Playing all over the place and being a constant threat with the ball. It's the Caps' time to shine!
  16. Clutch win to open up the C/L group stages. Of course, plenty of work left to be done but they got the job done to get the group up and running. Pogba sadly had to be subbed off with a hamstring injury and I haven't watched the past few matches since I was on vacation in Calgary (Great place btw, I recommend you should all visit the beautiful province) but he was wearing the captain's armband. His replacement, Fellaini, came up huge with a opener well before the half to put the Red Devils. Nice cross from Young and great switch from Matic to find Young and found Fellaini with the free header. Then Blind set Lukaku up with a header of his own to give United some breathing room. Rashford finished Fellaini nice ground pass to finish Basel off. Fellaini was MOTM easily. Came off the bench and instantly became the spark plug Utd needed. Plus got a goal and a assist. 1st win of a magical Champs League run hopefully. Glory Glory Man United!
  17. Excited to watch United make its return to Europe's best trophy to win, the Champs League. I trust Mourinho and the team he puts out on the field match in and match out. He has the ability to win multiple trophies in consecutive years in his 1st couple years. Fell flat last PL match but hopefully he gets the team back to where it belongs and it's begun already haha
  18. Just got back from Calgary. Went to Banff and Jasper mainly. Beautiful province to visit. I recommend anyone and any tourists to visit. Absolutely stunning!

Nice to see, I love the southern AB area

      Heretic

Nice place to visit - lived in Calgary for 13 years, which was 12 years too long for me.

I should have taken the warning - first winter there, I couldn't get to work one day, why?  My garage door was frozen shut!

The Mrs. is from the Calgary area.  Remember visiting her family there back in the 70's.  It was a beautiful summer day, so no extreme cold, of course.  We were tossing a Frisbee in a local school's parking lot.  I noticed posts with outlets at every stall.  Went back to Calgary (again to visit the in-laws) the next Christmas.  I quickly learned what the outlets were for.

  19. Didn't catch the whole game but watched the last bit of 3rd and early 4th. Just got home from a trip also lol so bare with me. Hawks had a couple drives where they were in the red zone and were close to breaking through. Couple unlucky breaks that just didn't go their way. No worries though. They'll bounce back.
  20. Yeah I have to admit, I was rooting for him when AA brought him over without giving up as much. Now he's become more injury plagued like this season. He brought some fantastic moments for the team especially in the last couple postseason runs. Unfortunately, his time here is starting to dwindle to a close. Shatkins and co have their work cut out for them this offseason. Team needs a lot of pieces to get back to where they were last year at the very least like leadoff hitter, bullpen help, some good starters. I like the potential a few players playing right now have in Hernandez, Urena. Hopefully they provide us with a good finish the rest of the way
  21. Going to Calgary later this week. Won't be able to stop where we want to since it's a tour trip but we will be able to explore some popular places. Any nice places to go/restaurants to go eat out at?

I will go to OEB for lunch too (love breakfast for lunch!). I think they're open til 2:30pm every day.

I now live in Chestermere, which is a community East of Calgary. But I work Downtown.

If you're going to Banff, another great restaurant is Three Ravens. It's at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity - which in itself is a pretty cool place worth seeing. And definitely go for a drink at the Banff Fairmont (but don't stay there). The hotel is very old and expensive, but it is situated in the coolest location. There is a lounge at one end that has awesome drinks, and an even better view.

Oh yeah, and Village Ice Cream is a great place to grab a cold treat downtown. It's between the main core of downtown and the Saddledome.

The Greek Tavern in Banff has some of the best steak I've ever had! All the food spots in Banff really won't let ya down. I love Calgary lol..

Oh yeah, almost forgot - Bear Street Tavern in Banff has AMAZING pizza. And it's right in the middle of downtown Banff.

Avoid The Grizzly House though. It is a trendy pick, as it is in a former swingers' club (even still has old phones that will call the other tables), and serves 70's-style fondue. But it was overpriced, smoky, and the food underwhelming. My wife and I didn't enjoy it at all.

  22. Yeah you're right. that's what I was referring. I'm just imagining the potential he has to become a major impact player in my Hawks' D. Having Thomas, Sherman, Chancellor healthy though, will be key this season and once they are, the team can easily be a #1 defence that it was not too long ago. Then we also got Lacy who I see being a big part of our offense if he can lose some weight and adjusts well in our offensive system that we have. Even without him, we still have Prosise, Rawls who can fill in admiringly if Lacy struggles at any point and give him a break on a few drives if he tires. Wilson also has some nice weapons in Richardson, Baldwin, Lockett and always dangerous Graham. I'm excited to get the season underway! Go Hawks!
  23. Great preseason for the Seahawks overall. Impressed with how they continue to treat every game like it's their last. Then they pick up Richardson who's a scary good DL and getting him to play with Bennett, Avril, that defence will be stacked and easily top 5 in the league once again. Then Wilson still has some nice pieces on offense to work with in Lacy, WRs Richardson, Lockett, Baldwin, TE Graham and rooks like Darboh. Then we have some solid depth in McAvoy, RBs Rawls, Prosise. The offensive line improved as well with Joeckel, Tobin and recent picks in McDowell, Pocic. The team is ready to rock and roll! Bring on the season
  24. happy about this loan signing with option to buy for Juve. After Schalke took the captain armband's away from him since he's been with the club in 2011 and then demoted him to the bench, this presents a solid opportunity for Benedikt to get regular minutes like he's accustomed to and reduced pressure on vets like Barzagli and can play the wing back since Allegri was going to be stuck doing a platoon role with both Lichtensteiner and De Sciglio. https://www.thescore.com/news/1361863 Juventus nabs Howedes on season-long loan with option to buy
  25. Watched some of the 1st half of today's United match in which was my 1st match I've watched and I'm impressed with how the team is playing. Didn't finish the rest of the match but their link up is so flawless right now and they're connecting their passes with ease. Matic continues to be a rock in front of the back line. Lukaku is really good with holding the ball up and linking it up to his other teammates. Blind and Valencia are really good at whipping crosses while not forgetting their defensive duties. This Instagram post says everything about how the lads are doing:
